I think I was first introduced to this song in the movie “Thrashin’”. That scene where he’s being chased down that circular car park ramp. Circle Jerks’ magnum opus right here.
It's not, it's a Los Angeles Cable T.V. show, before """the money changers""" got rid of free t.v. channels, that had CJ on to promote "NEW WAVE" musik
yeah, never thought of them as a skste band , but it works great, but I never knew the circle jerks did music videos LOL!! some how was lucky enough to see them in the mid 80s
I love this music video so much it blew my mind when I realized they were splicing band footage and current skating footage (I noticed the cars and Metro buses and it tipped me off what the editor was doing). About three years ago I used to commute into Hollywood to work and would walk to my bus stop on parts of the walk of fame, so seeing it in the video reminded me of that commute a lot. I was probably blasting music like the Circle Jerks in my ears while walking on the same sidewalk shown in this video. I keep coming back to this video every day, it's like an addiction.
This video is everything I imagined, ever since I first heard it and would just skate from Santa Monica to LA.. fuck yeah!!!! Can't wait to see them live!>__
Seen them on the first show of the tour, so fucking epic. 80 songs out of 3 bands in 3 hours 15 minutes including setups. They sounded great, they put on suck a killer show.
Just saw them last Friday, front stage in the pit was legendary for the books. Old School 57y and still thrashing S.G.V........LA was a great seen. Monrovia kicks ass
Wow the Circle Jerks are coming to Michigan on September 17th but Grand rapids which is about a 3-hour drive for me damn I would love to see them... But I don't know ugh!🤘
1:05 Dashawn Jordan… you can tell by the Nike shoes & beanie. I got tricked at 1st & thought it was old skate footage from the 80’s. Vision Psycho Stick reissue sales gonna be soaring soon!
Yeah, I can't believe some young people think he is a video game character.... I bought the first thrasher with him on the cover when I was 10 ... I still have it! #Sk8orDIE !
I bought this album when it came out and I have never seen this video until now. I never associated the Circle Jerks with skateboarding. This is arguably the best Circle Jerks album (other is Group Sex). It blows my mind that the Circle Jerks had a video for this album much less one with skateboarding in it. Who are the original skate punks? I would have figured JFA.
I had a chance to The Jerks in Ft. Lauderdale in '88 or '89. I got tossed out by some a-hole bouncer while 7 Seconds opened. They sounded good from the parking lot.
Gosh dang it! Now I have to go buy a dvd copy of Thrashin’ & one of those Powell Peralta reissues. I failed to receive the punk-rock message & I’m going full consumer! No More RED TAPE!!!
Seeing the Alon/711 in my neighborhood with Police officers in front. Also they closed 15mins earlier. Finally the 3rd location was open but closed after I paid for my item. Made me play this song at 1am in Texas. I felt I had to listen to this song.
the 48 min mark on Tony Hawk and Jason Ellis podcast Hawk vs wolf.... this esp "Atiba Jefferson Was an OG Tester of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater!" Atiba and the guys talk about this video Atiba directed it and most the skaters were at the group sex cover shoot back in the day...they also purposly tried to use old street moves to make it seem older which is why some dont pick up on its new till the cars...kinda cool
love it !!! Glad they got a video for this song, at last. Most people know Josh Brolin from “Sicario” and other movies as he was older. Also, Goonies, almost forgot. But “Old Boy” is another favorite of mines with Josh Brolin. I think I even like it more than “Thrashin”. The little clip at the end with Josh Brolin smiling did it for me. After all he went through in “Old Boy”, he managed to eek out a smile as the movie closed… letting us know that there’s always hope for us. Spike Lee deciding to do that was the most significant part of that movie imo. But I will always remember Josh Brolin from “Thrashin”, a 1986 skateboard movie where Josh was about…..?……he couldn’t be more than 20 years old? But he played as an older teenager as, perhaps, an 18 year old? His character anyways. But yeah, that was a cult classic movie for me. I was into skateboarding as a kid at the time so that movie was as doubly significant for me. Got it on Amazon prime. Josh Brolin’s girlfriend in the movie was beautiful. Her name was Pamela Gidley. She passed away in 2018 at 52 years of age. Condolences 💐 to her family. This song always takes me back to the movie where Josh Brolin’s girlfriend’s older brother and his gang despised Josh as they were skateboard rivals………..But one night they happen to see Josh Brolin skateboarding on his way home at night……….and the gang pursued him in wanting to mob him……….then this song “wild in the streets” initiated…….that was a cool scene……..they chased Josh Brolin through the structured 3 or 4 floor parking car garage when he finally managed to elude the gang. This song takes me back to that movie scene in 1986.
I was going through my records, looking for my DD214 and I noticed I kept all my old pay stubs from when I was in the service. On the back of one, to my surprise, was a list of songs in my handwriting, probably for a mix tape. I'd plan them on scrap paper. Date on the pay stub was Jul 1985, so I was in West Germany at the time. Here's the list... Circle Jerks - Wild in the Streets Agent Orange - Everything Turns Grey Social Distortion - Moral Threat UXA - Immunity Red Kross - Annette's got the Hits Baby Buda - Cheatin Heart Los Microwaves - Time to Get Up Channel 3 - You Make Me Feel Cheap Black Flag - Louie Louie TSOL - Peace Through Power The Replacements - We're Coming Out Xmal Duetchland - Incubus Succubus, Zu Jung Zu Alt, Blut ist Liebe

It's a bitch LOL. Still blast the Busa to 160 but my reaction times have taken a 68 year hit.@@evanabt8578

Why does this only have 8k views? This is the raddest video I've seen in ages. 40 years old and this song still kicks ass.
It was just released 2 days ago.

I was almost convinced it was all old school until I saw the cars! Haha so awesome 🤙🏼
Holy shit you are right! 🤯
Tony hawk in the pink shirt
music video is OG, but good call on the skate footage.
dang you are right
All old school pioneers keeping it real though. I think that was the main focus within the modern day edit. Still kicking it old skool
Lance Mountain recreating his classic cruising/street part from the bones brigade's video show at the end made me so happy
Lance is still the King of Dork Street Skating
