Thank you for spending all that time to show us , much appreciated , just starting out tying my own and want a large but LIGHT WEIGHT fly as only be using 9 to 10 weight line and rod , thanks again , all the best wishes , David .
@isaacness I'm researching a couple places & haven't decided yet. But it'll be one of Pomme De Terre State Park, Hazel Creek Lake, Henry Sever Lake, Fellows Lake, or August A. Busch Conservation Area.
Awesome fly buddy! Watched this for the first time yesterday and had to tie one up last night it came out great. Tested this morning The swim and action on the pause is unreal tons of movement at rest in the current as well Cheers
Loved watching your Musky fly. Can you share with me your fly line, leader, bite section and weight rod you need. I have a large arbor Lamson reel I’m hoping the reel will hold up with a musky.
Hey Joe, I use a 3ips sink tip tine for the rivers I fish. My leader is 3-4' of 40lbs mono followed by about 2' of 20lbs mono, then I use a 12" section of 40lbs tie-able bite wire with a permanent Mustad fastach size #4 to easily clip flies on and off without constantly retying the wire. For a rod I personally us a G Loomis NRX 9wt with a Lamson Litespeed reel. Musky are big and strong but usually won't force you to use much of your drag so the reel you use shouldn't really matter. Hope this helps!

Nice fly and great demo. I’m adding this pattern to my tying list. Simple is good.
Glad you like it!
Thank you for the instructions. I'm going muskie fishing next month and looking at patterns. I'm also planning on the Buford.
Awesome! where are you headed? Bufords work well also. I fish quite a few of those as well.

Let me know how it goes for you and what you think of the pattern once you fish it!
