Mad respect to James Marsden for doing a great job with so little to work with. Cyclops is such a pivotal character in the comics and deserved to be handled with way more respect.
Not gonna lie, I always thought Tye Sheridan was an excellent young Cyclops. Apocalypse was the closest the character ever came to being comic accurate.
Exactly, I keep wondering why is it so hard for them to get the characters right. When the homework is right there for them to look at it & take it to the big screen. Cyclops is that kind of character you have to put justice on, they made Cap a great leader for the Avengers on the big screen but couldn’t do that for Scott ( Cyclops) ☝️😤
I love how he answered that question. So respectful and fond of being apart of the movies too. Hope he gets to be Cyclops again and really bring it cause we know he can.
Yeah I hated that but he has a point about how there's so many characters in the franchise and it's hard to introduce all of the characters in one movie.
@DanielKariuki-er5gi Yeah true, although i did hear there were actually plans to do more with Cyclops with what Bryan Singer would've done instead of The Last Stand. But i still enjoy the movies we got. I really appreciate how different they feel from the MCU. More mature and far less jokes.
Nice to hear that! He’s definitely one of my favourites as well. I overlooked him back in the day, but when he stepped up after House of M, he became the most important mutant on earth. Would love to see Cyclops as the main character in a new X-Men movie 👌
X3 did cyclops fans dirty and james Marsden by giving him a staple character and then axe him off camera and give him like 1 minute of screen time in his final appearance
From what I heard the main reason for that was because during the time of X-Men last stand they were also shooting Superman returns in which James Marsden dedicated himself to the role in Superman more than he did X-Men that's why his part in X-Men was so small.
I remember watching that movie in theaters and I nearly almost screamed. I hated how they killed him off when he was a very important character along with Jean in the Phoenix Saga storyline. After X3 and X-Men Origins, I wanted the film rights to go back to Marvel Studios. Now, here we are. The Fantastic Four and X-Men are back home with Marvel.
Imagine they just show how op his optic blast really is against enemies that are mostly melee. We can even have wade loose limbs over the blast so it show how strong it actually is
As a kid I always had cyclops as my fav. At school we’d play X-men. Everyone fought over who’s gonna be Wolverine and I just wanted to be the leader. I enjoyed James portrayal a lot. He didn’t get the screen time he deserved.
As much as I Love The Fox X-Men Films, They really didn't do Cyclops justice but James Marsden did a Great Job with what He had and I hope we see Him again as Cyclops one day.
They did cyclops even more dirty in first class making ccyclops look like the younger brother of havoc.....i mean like come on get something right cyclops was older and better at hand to hand combat between him and browther...they gave cyclops no justice.
In the new timeline, Cyclops IS the younger brother of Havok.. I think they wanted to include Cyclops in the First Class, because why not right..? He’s one of the first students of Xavier.. But since the movie is set in the 60’s, it makes no sense to include Cyclops as he wasn’t born yet.. So they browse the Summers family roster, and saw that Havok hasn’t been introduced in any live action film.. So they put Havok in the movie, but making him as an older brother of Cyclops..
If so hopefully he fights more like he did in the animated series. Having him do moves like using his optic blasts to propel himself around a room faster is pretty cool. Having a live action Cyclops not really stand up for himself when pushed around, and battles consist of him just standing somewhere and having a villain like Sabertooth just run towards him and he just fires a shot and blasts him far back. Such an insult to how Sabertooth and Cyclops were handled.
I always felt like they did Cyclops dirty in the Orginal X-Men movies. He was always playing background or guy who gets fed to the main villain of the movie. But Cyclops as a character is more protagonist than side character imo.
The films were made by casual Wolverine fans. Cyclops was like Optimus Prime or Ethan Hunt (Mission Impossible) even. He was very intelligent, strong leadership capabilities, and he was always leading from the Front. I hate that they took his role and made him a background character.
As a fan of both James Marsden and Cyclops, this dude should have a right to come back to the role if he so chooses, it would be great to see him in Deadpool 3 or in any future X-Men related thing, he’s just a great actor.
People gotta realize that alot of xmen aren't made for solo movies. James Marsden best Cyclops was X-men 2000. Hopefully Cyclops gets a bigger role in the movies one day.
The hardest part about doing an X-men movie is that by it’s nature you have at least 6 main characters and it’s really tough to give each character proper Justice without it feeling overstuffed or being 3 and a half hours. That being said it always blew me away how little Cyclops was in the movie considering how enormous of a character he is in the comics. Sort of always saw him as the quintessential X-man, he was a member of almost every incarnation of the team.
Well Deadpool 3 really messed up the timeline because Logan takes place in 2029 but if it does take place after Logan then no wonder Cyclops didn't return because in Logan it's established that Professor X accidentally killed everyone.
Lifelong XMen fan. Cyclops was my absolute favorite. Loved James as the casting. Hated how he was used in the films. When he was killed in X3 I was so angry. I was just a kid too lmao
I'm a straight man and he's one of the best looking men I've seen in terms of long jevity and self preservation. I've never seen any attractive man maintain what he has from his teens to 50 let alone 40s showing no signs of significant aging. I don't want to jinx it for him by saying that so I'll touch wood but, it's impressive. He can still do Cyclops after nearly 25 years if he wanted to, would love to see it one more time. Cyclops & Wolverine are my favourite x men characters.
It became that other characters had to suffer. Though Xavier and Magneto still became popular though. Cyclops on the other hand only gets respect from people that watch x men evolution or read the comics.
James Marsden and his Cyclops portrayal weren’t bad, they were just horribly written If the MCU is really gonna do a whole new X-Men movie, let’s pray that James get to reenact the character with all the awesomeness that X-Men 97 has shown for the character so far
Because of his Cyclops role and after watching Gossip and Disturbing Behavior, James Marsden instantly became my favorite actor. He deserves to be back in the MCU.
James really was great casting they just kept making him bow down to wolverine. Really frustrating as a comic reader
Cyclops would never do that there’s a reason he is the leader and not wolverine cyclops was roght
James look like SINIK french rapper too cool fascinating and particularly WADE DOMINGUEZ great actor and cool man 💥🗒️🎤🎶💚
Honestly James Marsden still young. Wouldn't mind him trying the role again.
I mean that's how the cartoons and comics were, they always had a friendly rivalry
Nothing pissed me off more than to see Wolf boy be the leader
Mad respect to James Marsden for doing a great job with so little to work with. Cyclops is such a pivotal character in the comics and deserved to be handled with way more respect.
Agreed .
I agree completely.

We finally got a good one in X Men 97
He aged like fine wine. He could absolutely be ciclops for many more films.
He's more Cyclops now than he was in 2000
Both Jackman and Mardsen look so great and in shape, would love to see Mardsen in Tye Sheridan's End of Apocalypse blue costume!
His voice sounds like the animated one to a degree
James Marsden is perfect casting for cyclops, he even look's like the 97 cyclops ,fox just fumbled him
He looks great. I would’ve loved if he had mentioned Famke
he should be in dp3, hopefully
Even after 24 years, he still will be the best cast for Cyclops

@@LyleVSXyle Yeah, James will forever be the perfect fit but Tye did a great job too.
Crazy how XMen '97 did a better job at showing how bad ass cyclops is compared to the 10 years of movies

it would be cold to see him in deadpool 3
Hell would freeze over if they actually brought him in secret wars with Halle Barry as Storm.
Im glad James knows alot of us fans felt he was underutilized.
