I appreciate you doing this video and passing on this info, but I have to try and give you this piece of advice. Running the positive wire from your battery through a jagged sharp-edged hole in your floorboards is a recipe for disaster. Use a step drill bit to drill the hole and then put a rubber grommet in the hole to protect the + wire. Both items are available from any Harbor Freight store. Good luck trucking!

Anyone watching this. Rule of thumb with any electrical inside of a vehicle. Hook up ground wire first also protect your red power wire especially from the inside of that sharp hole. If it rubs through it could cause a fire. Also keep fuse as close to battery as possible.

@@Bombon_909 yes. If you don't you could start a whole fire. It's still a moving vehicle. If you wreck or something it could damage the power wire and the fuse would pop before it becomes a fire hazard
Appreciate u, u the only one I came across that talked about getting additional wires. Because where I bought my inverter from doesn’t say in description how long the wires are that come with it. 👍🏽

Key safety info missing..voltage of inverter vs voltage that the truck batts pushes out..what gauge size?? Hooking up a 12v inverter which most are to a truck the poses 14v will cause a smokie situation on contact..potential fire

… we are good to go. I didn’t even have to drill wholes in the floor. There were two bolts in the floor that served no purpose so I removed them and my cables whet right through. I believe they were made just for that cause they weren’t connected to anything. Jus 2 random bolts

How many battery you used ?
There’s usually 3 or 4 batteries in these trucks but I only used 1 for the inverter

No. But if you leave your refrigerator running for 3 or 4 days without starting the truck then it will drain the batteries and you will need a jumpstart.
I recommend just shutting everything off if your going to be gone for more than 3 days

Do I need the black box?
Your don’t need it but it is recommended. It’s a safety issue. If it happens to over heat for any reason that will go off and shut down to prevent a fire. It’s only $20 on Amazon and it’s called a circuit breaker

I need to install one but I’m using a Ryder rental and can’t drill holes. Is there a way to install it without the holes? What would you recommend
This is difficult to do. You can get smaller inverter that hooks to lighter plug can run smaller electronics. There’s coolers that connect to the lighter as well, serves as a small fridge
Mybe pull back the rubber flooring or carpet in one of back corners behind seats like the guy did in the video but pull back floor material first and drill hole underneath the carpet or rubber flooring and run cables through and when you give the truck back just take ALL the cables out and tuck floor material back down in place it will look like factor again
I kno this vid old but why didn’t you just drill a bigger hole in the terminals instead of buying new ones
How long will it power fridge if the truck is not running
Depends on the batteries, but from my experience usually 2 or 3 days.. it will drain the batteries and you will need to jumpstart the truck
So does the inverter work while the truck is off?
Yes it will power small devices like phones, tablets etc.. and a refrigerator for 2 or 3 days. But will need to power truck on to use a microwave or cooking appliances
