Installing BMW M Performance Alcantara Steering Wheel.
Tools:
- 16 mm socket
- 10 mm socket
- flat screwdriver
- torx T20
Torque for the steering wheel screw: 62 Nm.
The blue plugs simply have to be pulled apart with a great deal of force.

Great video, you made the disconnect of the paddle shifter blue switchs look easy, mine were so stuck I nearly broke them and still unsure why when yours were easy.

@@AndreasBurkhardt1 even with plyers I still couldn't so it's at an electronics shop to disconnect them both now I'm paranoid I'll break them.

I installed the wheel, but it was hard to get back in. I had to torque the wheel in order to seat it all the way in. Ow my wherl is crooked to the right a little. What is the best way to place the steering wheel back on?

Bin da seit 20 min am ziehen bis zum abwinken da tut sich garnicht
An denen habe ich auch lange gesessen 😅 die blauen Stecker einfach mit viel Kraft auseinander ziehen.

Deswegen bin ich immer froh was in deutsch zu finden um es selbst zu reparieren..

I just installed the other BMW steering wheel that doesn’t have the Alcantera all around and it looks amazing but I dislike the sharp angle at the top of the wheel. Does the wheel you installed have a sharp angle at the top or is it rounded like the OEM?
Hi! Its exactly like the stock steering wheel, just alcantara. Same size, same thickness, everything round.

After you put on the negative back on the battery: is there somthing that must be programmed? No problems with the alarm? Thanks ;-)
No, nothing must be programmed and I had no other problems. Only the average consumption that is reset.

Absolut anschauliches Video. Ich habe mein Lenkrad ohne Probleme gewechselt und es gab keinerlei Probleme. Hast du noch einen Tip wie ich das Alcantara langfristig schön erhalten und pflegen kann? Vielleicht mit Handschuhen fahren?

Danke Dir! Schön, dass es geholfen hat. Nein leider nicht. Es drückt sich recht schnell platt. Bin jetzt 5000 km damit gefahren und man sieht es schon etwas.
Verdammt. Im Moment ist es so schön angenehm anzufassen. Ich hatte gehofft dass es so bleibt.
Das Lenkrad muss man mit 62 NM anziehen. Aber sehr geiles Lenkrad

Hi man, i just installed my steering wheel, idk why the M1 M2 buttons doesn’t work, when i pressed it it just blink blink then nothing happens
What do you mean by blink blink. Where is it blinking? In the dash? Mine work as before. Maybe you reconnected something wrong. When you have deactivated traction control on the M1 and M2 settings you need to push them twice to confirm the deactivated traction control.
