Had something similar happen in Wheeling IL. A Walmart had it’s fire alarm system going off for nearly an hour. There was no fire, so I think it could’ve been a malicious activation, malfunction, or an accidental activation. They also have the same alarms (System Sensor SoectrAlert Advances)
@@mekaHX I wasn’t there while they were going. I heard them going off from across the street at a nearby Target as I was going into the store. I was inside the target shopping for an hour or so, and when I came out to get in the car and go home, I still could faintly hear the advances. Then all the sudden they got louder (another NAC tripped, setting off the system everywhere). I recorded some of that and posted it to my Instagram. Besides I heard advances up close a few times and they’re not that loud at all. My 7002T would completely drown them out lmao
Back in 2014 I was also in Wheeling's Walmart, and the alarms went of for a good 4 seconds (like it was a walk test). Like 10 minutes later as we were leaving they went of again and it didn't stop.
I wonder if that's per protocol for them because that was what happened for us. Was shopping around the tech area and all the sudden I hear the blast of the horn Strobes and after like 5 minutes of hearing short blasts they just fully set it off
I remember seeing a small child lose his flipping shit when this alarm randomly went off in our Walmart, eventually they had to carry the poor kid out of the store after he began flailing at everyone around him. There was no fire and it activated sporadically for an hour or so afterwards.
Jeez that poor kid. Hope he's alright now, seems like Walmarts don't really announce that it's a test when they blast it for a few seconds. Only when it's going off fully is when they announce it
I live in Oxnard Ca and they did same thing made my sons ears hurt, and my mother who is 64 started getting nausea and dizzy. Needles to say left merchandise and recorded the while thing
Mmm looks like the alerting device at the beginning of the video might need to be replaced or repaired due to no strobe and possibly no audible activation.
The system A/V was set up in 3 different portions. It goes by, Food and produce department, Home and electronics and then auto and sports area. By the time of recording the food and produce department was being activated
Why did they test it during business hours? This can disrupt building functions. If this Walmart opens 24 hours, then they should've done it late at night when there are very few shoppers.
@@ashleyj97 What? But the customers keep changing and the customers that were there will most likely not be there in a real fire! Which state is this Walmart in?
@@mekaHX very odd, the fire alarms went off at my local Walmart and I was able to pick up the strobes, apparently the camera has an issue with flashing strobes
The system was tested in 3 different portions, The grocery side, home and technology and auto area. At the time of testing the grocery side was being tested. Unfortunately I didn't get a video of the entire system being tested all at once
I don’t even think it works at all. Considering the system is a bunch of horn strobes, you would most likely thing that that alarm is also a horn strobe. Since the camera doesn’t seem too far away, you should be hearing a close horn instead of distant ones.
@@auggatronicRoblox_official Well the camera was picking up the strobe on the 2nd one so when you're were standing still your hearing a distant horn instead of a close horn because the device itself on the 1st one isn't working due to it being 2-wire and not the strobe itself as it would be a 4-wire
The strobe does indeed work. The system was being tested in 3 different portions. The grocery side, home and technology and then the automotive side. At the time of the recording the grocery side was being tested.
The D540 is only compatible with Bosch panels. Honeywell used to rebrand radionics/Bosch back then such as the D9412G D7412G and I'm sure many more. All the keypad is really is just a slap on logo and enclosure however is still compatible with radionics branded panels.
You gotta love those SpectrAlert Advances!

Not entirely sure why that is, There’s a reason behind it probably.
Because customers need to be familiar with it as much as the staff do. Typically (at my store anyway) we get them done first thing in the morning.
