I do this right after doing Yoga with Adrienne’s “Yoga for Swimmers” video twice a week. The two combined make an EXCELLENT 35 min yoga session that helps with my recovery, flexibility and stroke length. Thanks so much for making this video.
stay careful to sharp sensations in those big shoulder extensions (shoulder injuries r tough) and dont forget to breathe! done right we can heal strengthen and relax :)
I’ve been swimming my whole life and was trying to figure out ways to get faster. I asked my coach and he recommended stretching or some yoga. I’ve Ben doing this for a while and it makes me feel so much better in the water and just makes you feel even better out of the water as well! Thank you so much for making these videos! They helped me feel better and even get faster!
Thanks so much for the swimmer stretch, they really helped me out. I like that you hold the stretches for a while, many videos move to quickly. Good pace.
Thank you so much for making this. I honestly have been using this for a week and a bit now to stretch post training each day and i feel so much better in the water because of this. Keep it up man.
Wow, this was a great set of stretches. I had an early morning swim and this helped a lot. I've been doing your stretches for a couple of years now and this one was a great find.
Echoing all of the other comments here with a big thank you for putting together this routine. It’s been so helpful for me in combatting the tightness that comes with training. I’ve been using this video weekly for the past year and a half and it’s made such a change.
I've returned to waterpolo after doing nothing but weight lifting for 5 or so years. Needless to say I was very sore and tense in the water and alot of joint pain afterwards. I've been Doing this routine for a couple weeks now and it's actually helped alot. I also find I sleep better if I stretch before bed. Thanks for the awesome video.
These stretch routines are great. I really enjoy them. I think you could include something for the wrists as part of the swimmers routine. Thank you, amazing channel!
Hi Tom, I just had a look at the PDF but it doesn't link to the Swimmers PDF. Could you jeut check the link ? Thanks a lot for your content and especially for the follow allong series ! So nice to stretch and work with you !
Hi there! This practice is surprisingly fitted and well rounded, given that you're not a swimmer. Way to go! It's my favourite post-swimming session. Many thanks for that one!
stretching and being flexible is so underrated in swimming athletes. I truly know very few people who actually stretch often. Thanks for the video, it really helped! edit: not to mention that I just discovered multiple of my favourite stretches!
I swim because of a nerve damage in my knee due to surgery, and i really wish you could do one of these where i don`t have to have my knee on the floor, as that`s painful.
Hello Tom. Thank you very much for this video. In case you post an update one day: a flexibility routine for swimmers should also focus on the ankles. Thanks again anyway for your kind work. Cheers.
Thanks! Found this video when looking for ways to stay motivated to stretch well, specially after long swims. Found great shoulder and lat relief and, most wonderfully, kept me long, streamlined, which is really the key to swimming. We also do a lot of explosive movement when diving and turning (pushing off the wall), so now exploring your other videos. THANKS!!!
Could you make a video for musicians? I am playing the double bass and struggling with back pain, as many of my colleagues (some say one should balance out the one sided movement, and strengthen the other side? ) Please help!
I’ve just come across this video in my 'suggested’ videos and it was perfect for me being a swimmer and triathlete. Thank you so much for the video as I definitely hit some tight areas. I liked it when you reminded us to breathe as well!
Are these considered static stretches..still confused about the difference of dynamic or static..I do know you shouldn't do static stretches before working out so trying to figure out if I should do these before or after
Great! Should it be done pre or post swimming? (I'm asking, because I often see swimmers stretching before training contrary to lots of other sports). Cheers
Hello Tom ! Love your content, very precise, synthetic and usefull ! I tried to download the PDF version of this routine but the link in the description redirects to a "middle split flexibility routine" on your website. Do you think you could update this one ? Thank you !
The music is amazing, and this video was amazing. Only problem is that I did this every day for a week without training, and when i went back all my muscles just died
I had so much discomfort doing this but felt so good after and I will thank you for this. I could barely touch my toes before this and now I’m touching the floor
Flexiblity for swimmers? I am not really a swimmer but I know its a whole body exercise and your routine would cover it accordingly, dynamite stuff Tom, cheers!
@@jackpeterson5676 a day before is ideal because it let's your body recover in time, you should only stretch after practice or if you muscles are tight
You're stretches are amazing, dont realise what's tight until stretch it, could you do one for rugby players or long term gym goes while never stretched properly? This would be a great help
I do a lot of jump rope. I know this isn’t a sport in itself but There’s a huge growing community of jump ropers. It generally leaves me with tight calves and hamstrings, knees and sore shoulders. Would love it if you could do a cool down/ stretch routine for that.
I did this every night before sllep for about a year and at 100backstroke i am 8sec down it might not be the only reason but it sure is one of them thanks
Hola from Mexico, I really like the video and the flow you do. It really helped me to loose my body and we will recommend you to all our clients. One little thing you missed that can help us a lot is how to loose the wrist and fingers as the position por paddling in Surfing it can last over two hours to 3 hours per days. If we add driving a car, holding and writing on your phone then the level of high stress holding the same position goes all over the hands towards the arms shoulders and neck making it very painful. Other than that I really enjoy it and just want to say thanks for sharing this with all the world. 🤙🏼 Come surf with us in Mexico and we will give you a great deal!! Have an excellent week 🙏

Same!!! I have been doing this for 10 days now and i can already feel some improvment. Thanks Tom!

I’ve been doing this routine pre swimming for a 2 weeks now, vast improvement in my swimming. Thank you 😊
I’d recommend that you do this routine AFTER practice rather then before as doing too many static stretches before a workout isn’t the greatest.
dynamic and explosive before this kinda stuff after
Thanks so much for the swimmer stretch, they really helped me out. I like that you hold the stretches for a while, many videos move to quickly. Good pace.
Hello , am swimmer as well , how many times a week should i do this exercise??
@@mohamedelberry1273 I’d say every day if you have enough time, if not though about 5 times per week
Thank you so much for making this. I honestly have been using this for a week and a bit now to stretch post training each day and i feel so much better in the water because of this. Keep it up man.
Yes!! Thanks. I was going to ask for this, but you made one. I’m a triathlete, so I follow the vid you have for runners, now this. Awesome!!!

I just found this, I’ve done it for 3d In a row now and I plan on doing it every day , I’ll post my results. Thanks!!

This was awesome! But, for some reason the PDF link takes me to the middle split routine, and I can't find the PDF anywhere on your website!

how is it underrated if you literally can't swim witout shoulder mobility
Forgotten how amazing and relatable your videos are!!!
something about this one routine just hits right been doing this same one for 3 years now
thanks I'm doing this before a swimming comp so if I get a pb I'll have to thank you
Could you please do a mobility follow along for horse riders? 🐎
Please could you do a stretching for triathletes? I find your videos really helpful and fun to follow
That was great... I had a tender shoulder and was looking for a gentle stretch, thankyou.
Thank you for the video, can i do this everyday ?
Do you have a follow along routine for Surfing that could help the pop up and the paddling?
Hey could you please do a follow along for IT Band

This is the best video regarding how to stretch the mucsle before and after swimming. I appreciate it.
Amazing! I practice yoga and I swim… this was great for my sore muscles after two hard days in the pool.

great video thanks
This was fantastic!
Can we do a climbers edition?
How about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. We always suffer from tight shoulers chest, but also would greatly benefit from better middle splits flexibility.

I loved this video can you make another swim one please!❤❤❤
Really like this routine, becoming the go-to after my swim. Suggestion for another follow-along stretching routine for skiing ⛷!
Are these considered static stretches..still confused about the difference of dynamic or static..I do know you shouldn't do static stretches before working out so trying to figure out if I should do these before or after
Hi these are static stretches but you can make them more active for example squeezing the glutes for 5secs then relaxing then squeezing etc.
So many years with neck pain after a car accident this helped a lot, Thank you
Is there one for tennis players???
Thank you!
PS: Suggestion for another follow along would be for skipping, if that isn’t already covered by the running vid.

Thanks a lot for posting this routine. Easy to follow and very useful !
Like to see a follow along for poas, hip flexor, hip rotators, obliques and low back
Great video! Clearly you put in a lot of effort into it, appreciate it!
Thx for the video. I used to have pain on my knee when swimming breaststroke. Hope these lower body would help
Can you do ankle flexibility and stretching? Im a swimmer and broke my ankle and I have notice the bad ankle is a lot tighter than my good one.
This has helped me a lot to not have tight muscles after swimming. Thank you

You shouldn't be doing stretches like this before a race, just do dynamic warm ups
