Yay! Love this, so glad you covered the rotation alignment. I was actually pulling my hair out a little bit last night because I had remembered aligning rotation differently when Geometry nodes first came out... it was quite different than it is now since the nodes have changed so much. But it was using Euler somehow and for the life of me I couldn't remember haha. But I'm glad to see in this video an updated and easier method for aligning the rotation to the normals. Seriously love your channel, the way you present concepts, and demonstrate everything with such clarity. Truly masterful 💕
yeah, this is a challenging area given that so many older geometry node tutorials, some even only a year old, are out of date because they keep changing things.
I remember needing to use a chain of rotate Euler to get instance rotations aligned with the faces of the instancer once. Maybe we’re thinking of the same thing - either way the system has definitely improved for the better. Love these tutorials
I sincerely appreciate your videos! Your style and method makes learning easy and enjoyable. The topics are great, the tips are helpful, and you always explain things in a clear and a digestible way. Thank you!!
Just a little tip! Instead of plugging rotation in to the Max of the random attribute, set the random attribute to generate from -0.5 to 0.5 and then apply a scale to the vector with scale being the rotation input. It makes for much more pleasing adjustments
