Ultrasonic haptic feedback works by mixing two ultrasound waves of slightly different frequencies.
At the cross point of those two sound beams, the resulting frequency is the difference: ie 10 Hz?
Low frequencies can be felt rather than heard, so there is a sense of feedback when pushing
    the holographic button.

Very cool stuff coming down the pipe.
I can envision one day using one of these when I'm very old so as not to rely on my kids and possibilly hurting anyone attempting to drive at that old age. I can also see these being "sent" to pick up my grandkids or great grandkids in school. Have the "OLED" windows with two way voice communication so as to let the teachers know which car they need to go in.
This will be HUGE economic multiplier for retired citizens, disable and whatnot. Amazing times we live in.

The countdown on the lights just seems like a way for you to try and get the best launch from every light. I know it's meant for you to adapt your speed to not hit the lights by juts slowing down but still. I think it'll be used for a different purpose.

The fact that autonomous driving is being heavily pursued and seriously is really important to someone like me. I've had seizures since I was 19 and am unable to drive. I'm 34 now. Being unable to drive and having to rely on people like my wife, or mother in law for rides everywhere like work or a doctor's appointments sucks. A standard of autonomous driving in the near future(and hopefully to the point where you don't have to be a licenced driver to do it) would be amazing.
