I find it hilarious that it’s called Morozko. That fairytale has the Grandfather Frost character ask the girl whether she’s cold (while freezing her ass) and she’s supposed to answer that she isn’t cold (if she acknowledges that she’s cold, she’ll be frozen to death).

My understanding is she is becoming hypothermic and also becomes less conscious and therefore replies and Waze it says she doesn’t feel cold because when you are truly hyperthermic it’s difficult to report for circumstances

Thank you! I am on the road back from covid fatigue I didn't know I actually had it last October while I was passing my kidney stones couldn't figure why I couldn't get back into things. Antibody test confirmed that I had it. I've been doing the cold water therapy maybe a little over a month now but I started with a cold shower at this time that's all I can do. But I just started walking again I did 3 miles the three dogs in three days and that's good for me I love the walk I used to do every single day I'm glad I'm back. Thanks for all your inspiration

This is a great reminder! I used to do this 4 years ago. It really helped clear up the circulation in my legs, even to this day. When I first tried it, I couldn't do more than 10 seconds at a time because it felt like a sledge hammer hitting my bones, but I forced myself to go up to 5 minutes, then 10. It felt so amazing afterwards!

  • @andypcguy1

A circulation pump or bubble stone to help move the water around makes a huge difference. Your body heats the water next to your skin so you need the water to circulate.

Cool video! Worth pointing out though that part of the reason the first 10 seconds feels the worst is that you build up a thermal layer around your body. I often find that as soon as I start to feel comfortable, I'll slosh around from side to side and I get that "just jumped in" intense cold sensation

I used a large deep inexpensive chest freezer and sealed the seams. I have had my setup running for about a week. I only have to turn the freezer on 12 hours on the lowest setting every 3 days in the summer to keep ice floating. No filter though. I take a shower or hose off before i get in. I will probably rechange the water every couple of weeks. I put some salt in the water in an attempt to keep it cleaner. I am not an expert, so try it at your own risk. I always unplug before I open the cover. There are several how to videos on youtube that provide advice.

You must come to Russia for THE Cold Plunge. On Jan 19 every year a lot of people take plunge in icey water in rivers and lakes, it is supposed to mimic the Christ's baptism but it s also a kind of sport. And those who practice such plunges for health reasons, do it although the season as well (and the season is looooooooooong). And you may see Morozko, the film, it is hilarious.

Ah yeah! I used to do some cold plunges in Russia. Was in the South though, so temperatures rarely went below -18 Celsius. One time, i even broke my hair, lol.
