      Good for you Kristin. Everyone deserves to have a supportive parent. And then theres those assholes that exist like this Joe person...but we should just ignore them because we're just feeding their hate by hating back. As a gay kid i came out 4 years ago. My parents said "it could just be a phase..." Yep 4 years later its a phase oook ya...but im very fortunate that they accept me for who i am. It was simply a disbelief and denial they were going through. But having a parent that accepts you and wants to know more is the best kind of parent :)

    I spend a lot of time watching people's transitions on RUclips when I'm feeling particularly dysphoric, and I have to say that this is one of my favourites. It's just so...raw, and honest. He doesn't skip over the tough parts or gloss over how long it took for him to move forward (although to be fair, I don't have any idea how long it actually took...just a feeling I got from the video.) Thanks for posting this, Emery. You make me feel much less alone in the world.

    I just have to say, I was less focused on your transition and more focused on you. Just you. Don't get me wrong, I think your journey is amazing, but I have to say....fuck that I NEED to say that your just awesome. You are seriously just one of those special people that the world needs to know. Your personality is so lovable and the energy your putting out dude, is so fucking contagious. You are easily one of those people I'm just never going to forget. I'm so happy for you and I wish you the best.

      I feel like that's what's wrong with me, I'm too afraid to talk or be around people, I think I'm not helping my disphoria and I'm making it worse by ignoring it. Like I literally frustrated one day because my bra wasn't washed and all I kept saying to myself that if I were a boy I wouldn't have to deal with that shit.

    • @r.mariestorms3939
      @r.mariestorms3939 9 лет назад

      TheNakedZombie There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with you. Though I don't think your bra being dirty has anything to do with it. But maybe it is. It's worth thinking about. Being a girl can be frustrating and annoying, but that has nothing to do with how you feel about your body and societies general view of gender. Were you annoyed because your bra wasn't clean, or were you annoyed because you have to wear one in the first place? You're answer will lead you to your truth.

    I just want to say I think you are amazing!
    I have a friend who I went to school with who sadly I don't see as much as I would like to now as they are married and run a business but they went from Female (Aimee) to male (Oliver) and I must admit there are still times even a couple of years on that I accidently call Oliver 'Aimee' or say 'her' instead of 'him' and then I feel really bad but it is purely accidental. When you have known somebody for such a long time with another name it can be hard to adjust your brain's memory but I'm sure he understands that. Everyone has been really supportive of him including his wife and that's how it should be. People should love you for you.
    I can't even imagine what it must be like to feel like you are trapped in the wrong body and I fully support anyone going through the transitions.
    I hope you feel much better in your skin now.
    You are gorgeous inside and out and an inspiration.
    Much love, Laura

      Its something I say to people regardless of gender, including my male friends. So in that respect, you should take it as a compliment that I thought youd be comfortable enough with your identity that I didnt censor it.

    • @imrlaps7097

      Your issue. Not mine. If you want to be a man then why not be a man? I know another female to male, a friend of mine who is so convincing I had no idea he used to be a woman. As a result, I joked around with him like that all the time, calling him a girl and shit (which for the record MOST men joke around with each other like this, so Im surprised youre not used to it and get defensive) he takes it much better than you do. Im very surprised. The fact that youre so upset by this only makes me regard you more as female than male because youre not comfortable enough with yourself to accept yourself wholly as male. However, Im sure you wont understand my point. Because youre not reading what Im saying youre too blinded by your emotions. Like most women, not men. Men have a higher tendency to let things roll off their backs. Your psychology is like that of a woman still not of a mans, thats my point really.

    I'm underage and I understand how you said you wasn't happy being a girl, because I am going through that but my family don't want to deal with it and they want to ignore the fact that I want to transition. They just think I'm being irrational and stupid for wanting that for myself. It confuses me even more because ik I'm different and I am afraid to tell my friends at school but I have tried to come out to my family and they brushed it off like it was nothing. It's so hard to be me when I can't because I'm underage and my family doesn't want to be supportive bc it's not in their religion. There are some days where I just like who am I? This isn't the person I want to be, I mean most 17 year old girls worry about their clothes n their boyfriends but I on the other hand worry about trying to become me. I have tried to love my female self and I jus can't because Idk how to explain but I just don't feel happy or myself... Idk if u will read this but I really could use some tips or advice.

      Kitty Love I'm not experiencing the same exact thing as you, but I have identity issues. It's hard to explain, but I feel like I don't know who I am as a person. I feel like I have to like what everyone else likes and dress like everyone else etc etc, so I feel like I don't have my own personality or something. Ugh I don't know it's hard to explain....

      Kitty Love Hey, I feel the same way except I don't know if I'm wanting to transition. I live in a family full of homophobic people. It hurts to know that even if I like looking like a girl, I wouldn't be able to express that I am attracted to girls than guys. I honestly feel more jealous of guys than attracted and I feel so bad because everytime I feel good about myself, I have to hide my feelings inside, over and over again. I'm 17 too, and I never was "normal" always been different. People don't take me the right way, and I just feel more comfortable looking/dressing like a guy. I mean, the only thing I like whenever I look feminine is my eyelashes when I put mascara on.. That's the only thing.. Guys clothing is easier to shop for than girls.. And I've never been feminine either. Always been tomboyish and I feel confident appearing as a guy... I also got more compliments than I did feminine whenever I looked masculine.. I don't have much advice because I can't express myself much around my family.. I just wanted to tell you, you aren't alone. Stay strong.

    • @emQism
      @emQism  7 лет назад +2

      +Kitty Love ... hey dude I am so sorry you're dealing with this. if they are still brushing it off, there are things you can do like "oh i didn't realize you were talking to me, everyone is calling me _____." or write them letters. letters are good because you can write them and THEN decide whether or not to give it to them. i don't know where you live but it sounds like you are close enough to being able to decide for yourself what happens to your body and life... tips and advice are always comforting but usually the same; patience, kindness, compassion. Being transgender is a hand of cards nobody cheated for. You can't change being trans you know this I know, but I'm saying that for as long as it took for you to come to terms with, "shit, i am trans" - now they have this brand new information to process. that is the compassion and patience part. try to be kind because you ARE kind. show them that you haven't change in spirit- you also have to have all of these things when it comes to yourself. be kind to yourself by wearing what makes you feel comfortable. have compassion for yourself in that the situation you are faced with is not an easy one. acknowledge that as fuck. if you haven't yet; write about it, paint about it, talk to a camera or a friend about it.... you should really tell at least one friend that you trust... if there really isn't anyone, there are a TON of people on Facebook that are dying to talk to other FTMs in groups on there. You can also ask them for advice as to how you can feel happy during this time. i am an art type of guy so that's what i've got. ily and good luck

    This is so similar to my journey so far but I'm still pre-T. I went through a very similar progression in gender feeling uncomfortable and just AH WOW. This gives me a lot of hope. Thank you.

    All I can say is wow...and thank you. Not only are you an inspiration to the FTM community, you are an inspiration to everyone everywhere. A friend of mine who is FTM told me about your channel and I decided to check it out...I am so glad I did. This video alone touched my heart and while watching it I couldn't help but shed tears, not bad tears, or sad tears, but tears of amazement and awe at how headstrong and unapologetic you are. If everybody could only see one video, this is the one they need to watch. Thank you for sharing your journey so far, and thank you for opening my eyes to the realization that I should be happy with who I am, what I do, and my choices. It's like the saying goes...if you can't love yourself,how the hell are you going to love other people!

    It's truly inspiring seeing this. I am 1 week and a day on T and it's just so incredible seeing that this is my year. I'll get to experience what I've wanted to experience this time. I will become content with myself and the moments that I do feel content are so incredible. And i feel so alive. I feel human. I feel like the man I've known I should be since I was a kid. Go you my man!

    I am so jealous of you Emery... I like being a girl but I feel like my life would've been so much better as male... But I would never be able to take the steps you did because I have a really loving family and verrrrry strict religion and doing this would break their hearts. Also i don't think I would make as cute a boy as you do :)

    I was looking for Ftm inspiring stories to show my best friend it's okay to change yourself to be comfortable in your own skin. She's been thinking about it a lot for a few months now and I think this is going to inspire her tons. I love your story this video was amazing and emotional in many ways,you're very strong.(:

    I just told my friend I'm trans, I think she took it well, but not so sure. I either surprised her or just shocked her a little, either way we just continued talking afterwards.

      Well she's okay with it, I told another friend and he's okay with it, then my gram found the journal I made a month ago and now she knows. She's ok with it, but I'm scared a little, I feel like she doesn't know what type of councilor or psychologist I need (I do, but I'm not sure she truly understands).

    I think that one of the big reasons why I love this video and have watched it several times is that it shows hope and you show that there are ups and downs and not only just showing the good things like so many 1 year videos do. You have done an excellent job on this video and I am glad that you have really grown and come out of your shell.
