i think it's just the most wild (look at prof birch) / nature-ey region overall, i'd say it's probably the best one for pokemons or any animal to roam in... maybe alola and hisui could pretend to be as good

The vibrations on the dirt are akin to moles digging through, so they will surface themselves out of fear until the storm is over. This can be exploited to get tons of worms if you have 2 sticks and plant one firmly on the ground vertically, and then rub the 2nd on the top on the 1st stick.
Fun Worm facts; - Worms can hold their breath real long, so they're not at risk of drowning. - While rainworms don't live in sand, many other worms, such as bloodworms, do! - Small animals that aren't birds will readily eat worms, so a lack of birds is not a guarantee of safety.

Pacifidlog town would be terrible if you were an earthworm but phenomenal if you were, like, a tubeworm or marine worm of some kind. They love pilings and the like!

Too much moisture is actually bad for worms! The reason they come out in the rain is because otherwise they'd drown in the soil, so stuff like large puddles and constant rain would actually be bad worm real estate.
