    To everyone involved, THANK YOU!
Some people make fun of Windows. Ive been using it for years and thats what Im familiar with. Im not a geek, this is my first with a RPi and I very much appreciate this developement.
I have a specific Windows software that I want to make portable (laptops are expensive). So I think this helps me get around without learning to emulate the Windows software and to code its environment until it works.

yeah I think this is the watershed moment for the Win10 build, it'll make updates for video drivers, etc. potentially easier; I remember the original Pi B when it came out, all sorts of video issues; community build work made a tiny little ARM based device play 1080p perfectly, I was floored at how far it came just from that type of work. It's outstanding stuff. I love how they built an installer too, that takes the scary bits out of trying this for people new to the process.

yes, it was completely inoperable without it's Bootstrap - funny it took M$ so fucking long to work that out.
Not exactly racing to un-fuck this (the Fifth) distro of doze 'for' Arm are they?
9 months ago, we had the Fighting-to install video. Jesus, Our home-grown distro that we get to dev part-time on almost Zero budget devs faster than this heap...

I was watching your video on that subject few days ago and recently I read 2 not very detailed articles on that and thought they were late to jump in.
And tonight just before going to bed, Bam! You bring it.
Thanks for the good work. And I can't understand why such good channels as your and other one Explaining Computer has so few views when a video where a guy open chocolate and candies for about 10mn got something like 10 millions views.
I don't understand the world we're living in today. Anyway I don't care as long as there still people like you. Again Thanks.

Brilliant news Don! Congrats to Everyone involved. What an effort. This is definitely going on to my P-Top laptop. You’re so right; the Pi-Top indeed has been great, but not really too useful to me without Windows. Going to put this on my ToDo list for immediate installation. Will let you know how it works. 1st gotta remove the TinkerBoard - not any good as a Pi alternative in the Pi-Top due to browser issues...
CONGRATULATIONS & FELICITATIONS TO EVERYONE INVOLVED.

BTW I'm interested to see if you can boot Windows 10 from an SSD, seeing that 100% activity on the SD card really made me sad!
P.S. How is the audio on this thing? Would appreciate a demo.

Ssd via usb will do nothing, at all. Until Ebon decides to make Real sbc's and stop self-gobbling Rpi.orgs hype... £50 for the blank board.
another £50 for a Fast Interface Hat - with Picex16 - or Pi is Gone at Pi4... and ideally they should move to rk3399, but that won't happen and they'd have to write a chipset-to-pi Firmware layer to make it work.. which they can't.

The Linux Gamer, really, so I wasn't letting that go down without at least interjecting. He is a pretty closed minded individual , but I stuck up for you Don. Credit should be given when its due, even when your the biggest hater on youtube. The conversation was that Windows may not even support ARM anymore and it was for a reason, that WoA defeats the purpose of the pi blah blah. Basically just a bunch of hate. Running a heavy resource hungry operating system thats slow on a PC, now on a RPi . Then he saw the installer and went into a laughing fit. Which really annoyed me because I know you guys worked hard on this. Nevertheless publicity is publicity one way or the other and a lot of people watch his channel and listen to his podcast. In the end it will go your way. I spammed his entire page with the share link to this video. To anyone that was really interested in learning about WoA, I shared the link to this video lol. The hole point of an RPI is to have a small and cheap Linux computer. Running windows 10 on it is just stupid regardless whether the arm version is supported by Microsoft or not. It is heavy and inefficient and considering how low powered the RPI is it just makes no sense to run x86 software using that strange jit compiler. All of the thigs this guy tried to do can be done perfectly on Linux, saying that without windows 10 it is just a paperweight is just stupid.

Took 4-5 hours to write the install onto the sdcard. Then took 3 hours to boot up windows into the first question. Clicked next and I've been waiting around 1-2 hours for it to pop up with the next question. I have a class 10 sd card which reads at 22mbps so I don't see how this is so slow. I have a question, for those that have already got this running. Is this Win10 running in a sort-of "emulation" mode (that is, emulating the x86 instruction set) or is it running natively in Arm? I ask, because I can't see how else is it gonna run your favorite *.exe file (say PuTTy.exe, for example)

    • @TheGlowingObsidian

it emulates the x86 code to ARM code hence it works really well.
