On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. External detail is spectacular. Especially the rotors. Never seen anything like it.

Rotors made me do a double take first time I took it for a flight. Looked so real it was uncanny.
first off, that intro is literally the coolest DCS video i've ever seen. second, the black shark 3's 3D model is the best 3D modeling i've ever seen in a combat sim. 😲😲
Ka-50 was my first full fidelity model many, many moons ago. Systems can require a fair bit of learning (AP anyone?) but once learned properly, the Black Shark is a joy to fly and is very capable, too. Love the Shark content!
How long did it take you to become efficient in it?
I'm falling in love with this Helicopter all over again.
Don’t know how many others I speak for, but as a relative newbie who only has jet exp. I find the ka50 a very uniquely appealing chopper to try due to its single seat capabilities… great option to spice up content too!
I would certainly like the Ka-52 or Mi-28N module.
Would love more KA-50 stuff, I have the module but have never learned it. Always end up in the Apache instead. But maybe now is the time to learn:)

For the Vikhrs, you don’t need to align the two circles in the hud if you put the switch in front of the cyclic from Auto to Man.
I suggest doing this, you can fire off the Vikhrs from a very large envelope in MAN mode. No reason to use AUTO.

That extraordinarily eye-catching well animated rotors alone is enough to convince me to swipes my credit card for this module.
Ka-50 was my first module. Flew it a lot back in the day. The coaxial rotors make it much more stable and easier to fly than the other DCS helicopters.
That opening should have been the release trailer. Amazing footage!

KA-50 was my first DCS module, many moons ago, before the A-10 appeared. loved flying that. Currently updating my OpenBeta installation so I can get access to the BS3 module, and digging out my BS2 manuals lol, see if I can remember how to even start it :P

Nice video! Definitivley want to see more KA videos , but to be honest a nice mountain , low fly , sneaky missions will be awesome! Nobody show how this beast performs in dificult terrain.

The Igla seems bugged. Even at just 1200 grams of explosive, you'd think it would do more damage than basically a single cannon round.
It is the same Igla that the Igla-dudes on the ground fire. I have seen aircraft eat multiple hits from those and keep going before so this is nothing new. The Mi-24 Hind/Krokodil with the R-60Ms is still the better option for air-to-air.

I wouldnt mind seeing more Ka-50 vids, but i wonder how are you able to fly it so smoothly? when i was trying to learn it, it felt like it was fighting me on every mile of the flight, feeling extremely unstable ^^
You are probably fighting the ap system
@@e_norrby i've been playing around with that yea, turned on and off different ones, but i couldnt get it to fly somewhat stable. so i was wondering if there's some trick to make it fly better
Let the autopilot fly it. Just guide it in the direction you want it to go. Once you figure that out it’s the most stable helicopter in dcs.
it might be worth looking at your joystick curves, particularly on the cyclic stick pitch and roll - helicopters need to be flown with small inputs on the cyclic but desktop joysticks are too short for the fine control needed

Also: Try and use the override for the Vikhrs. You don´t have to be that precise with them then and it works the same!

Funny thing about having those Iglas: the AH-1 could carry AIM-9 Sidewinders. Imagine having an Apache armed with AIM-9Xs
Like others, the KA-50 was my first DCS module. So, yeah 10 bucks to have a whole new model, all the internal detail, and some new weapon and defensive capability? Heck ya, instant buy! I have been re-mapping the HOTAS, watching vids, reading documentation, and ... yeah, crashing it a whole lot today! I've always been fascinated with it, the counter-rotating rotars, a friggin ejection seat in a chopper! And, the whole thing is just a beast. You know that it was built to go murder stuff, nothing else!
So clean and well maintained in the video- reality is much different. lol

More KA-50 videos please! This is one of the most exciting and also most difficult modules for me. I bought it one month ago and at first it seemed impossible to fly it. Now I got familiar with the controls and autopilot modes and weapon systems, I had to switch my brain into a different working mode to fly this helo, but it turned out this bird is unbelievably easy to fly and operate effectively, I love it

ka-50 was never produced in large numbers and is completely replaced with ka-52, the two-seater version. Both machines have very distinctive sound, like subaru in helicopter world

the A/A and A/A HO don't have anything to do with the Iglas, they are mode switches for the Vikhrs and Targeting computers.
