If you sent two mavericks from different vectors more than 10deg apart, a single Pantsir couldn't defend both ...... Thank you for your awesome videos 👍
The SU-25 is a tough piece of equipment. I've seen videos where a MANPAD hits the aircraft square and it drops it's load and flies off lol. Don't know if the aircraft made it back to base but it's still pretty impressive for sure.
I'd love to see you take the A10 back to its intended hunting ground over the plains of a 1980's West Germany, preferably in a period jet against period Warsaw Pact vehicles.
You are mistaken that the A10s hunting ground was over Central Europe. Common misconception, it was actually designed to fight the Army’s Cheyenne in the capitol building.
@@mikes989 "Also, couple of days ago I saw a video of what they claimed to be a Pantsir-S firing and shooting down GMLRS missiles from the himmars." A few days a go I also saw a video of Russian air defences failing to intercept GMLRS's, the Pantsir and other systems don't seem to be fairing that well against the GMLRS's fired from the HIMARS, how do I know? Because even the Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu a couple of months labelled HIMARS a high priority target, the Ukranian knew this and built wooden HIMARS decoys, which fooled the Russians into firing 10 3M-54 Kalibr missiles at them.
Congrats on the well deserved 400K my dude! Absolutely awesome. Great video with beautiful visuals for the whole GS experience! Much respect from Florida!
Another good one thanks. I'm really REALLY hoping the A-6 Intruder gets added. One of my favorite planes of all time even though it isn't a fancy fighter. Would love to see some Vietnam era bombing runs with that.
@@Anarchy_420 Aegis ashore is... unlikely tbh Unless you want to to recycle the SPY-1 from Ticonderogas (AB DDGs had smaller versions of them iirc) And I'm pretty sure Aegis ashore utilizes an upgraded version of the SPY-1 instead of the older ones we have currently.
A video comparing the close air support and air-to-ground capabilities of the A-10 and the Su-25 would be cool, like if you flew both planes back-to-back in two identical scenarios in one video, just to demonstrate the differences. I'd definitely watch that.
Great video! One of the things I've wanted to see for some time is ship attacks, specifically with guns to see how effective it might be. I've seen your harrier videos with anti ship missiles.
Have a look at the force correlate tracking mode for the EO-seeker Mavericks. Basically you command a track on a point on the ground, allowing a lock at any range. Go in "high" and "fast", fire at max range, cross fingers.
I can speak from personal experience of what an A10 streaking past your building sounds and feels like. 2006, stationed in South Korea and the A10s from Osan Air Force base would use our base as a practice for strafing dry runs.
Yup. I don't really buy that the A-10 stands much of a chance against a Pantsir. His approach was way too high. At 6800 feet, he would have been shot at well before he got within range. The A-10 is slow too, the AA missiles are much faster, and it's unlikely that an A-10 can jink out of the way in time, even with countermeasures. I think once he tries to defend by getting low, everyone with a Manpad would have a field day with it.
Aayyyyy he showed the landing! Time for my rating: 6.85 / 10 It was kinda rocky and off center line, but you at least didn't damage the aircraft in the process XD
I was able to get see some A10s close up at an air show a few years back. What a workhorse airframe! It was my favorite as a kid and getting to put my hands on one solidified it as an adult. The design of the aircraft is as iconic as it is capable. Shame to see them retired, but hopefully they still have some out on the tour circuit so we can all remember it for years to come!
6:40 "He's beginning to believe..." Instead of operating at A-4 Skyhawk flight levels over targets, from Vietnam, the flight levels he's adopting here, are the Warthog's true domain... under 1,000 feet. You cannot hit, what is at nearly the level of trees in your field of view. "Where is that coming from?" A-10 was the original "Predator". "He's using the trees!" Stay ultra low, get used to leaves in your inlets and NEVER overfly the target area. "Why is A-10 so slow?" It's because it flies so low... my dude. It's a fixed wing Apache.
The A-10 really struggles way too much in even a heavily degraded modern IAD environment. No wonder the USAF wants to get rid of it and put the funds towards its other platforms/new platforms.
@@oldanddisgusted5998 It actually is very true. A-10s had their time but they really will not do well with a near-peer adversary. I'm 22 yrs recently retired AF and this is not really debatable.
I love the Warthog, and I’m really glad that you have decided to fly with this. Watching you do ground attack is very cool. Hoping to see more ground attack videos.
The mountains of Afghanistan would provide a difficult challenge. With weather, you might be dropping through a hole just to ensure you keep the ground in sight while trying to hit targets & avoid friendlies. The A-10 was designed for WWIII Europe, but I think it really shone in Afghanistan. Thanks for your great content...from an vet A-10 weapons troop.
Thanks Growling, love the content. Would love to see the A-10 go after it's intended prey, lots of tanks like defending Germany from the soviets or the US in the gulf wars.
Just an idea. Mission starts off with combat air patrol. Ensuring the battle space is clear and establishment of air superiority. Once established, A10 provides direct air support to troops in contact. If you put it all together you show exactly how a LSCO fight is conducted.
Cool video. I think you should try to do a mission where you are hunting and killing some moving targets. Maybe have a few enemy tanks rolling across the countryside on their way to attack a small friendly camp, set up in a small town. It could be just a big group spread out over a wide area, or maybe like 3-4 small groups approaching the town from different angles.
I would love to see an A-10 video of you alone against a bunch of SAMs and you have to take them out. Would be fun to see the chaff and flares just being dumped out.

Not usually a fan of the A-10, but the variety of powerful weaponry it has makes it fun to watch. I prefer the Strike Eagle, or even better the Sex Eagle (F-15EX), but I know they're not in DCS. I imagine an F-15EX with an eagle headed Ricardo Milos with American flag bandana painted on it. Would be cool if there was a B-2 in DCS, though I guess it wouldn't be as exciting to fly in reality because of stealth and high altitude making things too easy. Maybe the B-1B would be cool since it's supersonic, has swing-wings, is meant for low altitude and can carry a lot of munitions. I bet the Aermacchi MB-339 would be fun for some A2G missions.
Would like to see a pair of A-10 on a night time air support mission for a SOF team and you a time limit to knockout a brigade from over-running their position. Maybe bring some SA units in the area providing cover from you guys as well. Make it saucy baby!!
A-10 on a anti-ship mission!! Super low over the water at high speed, doing gun runs on supply ships or less heavy defended ships. (WW2 P47 Thunderbolt inspired)
