Would have been so much better had J played it. Take it from a guy who's seen White zombie live....I've seen Rob 3 times and it doesn't come close. Especially when they play White Zombie tracks. I'll give Mr. 5 this though.....with the exception of Scott(DB)....he was the most talented guitarist Manson ever had.
@@joeyferguson840 glad I took it from a guy who's seen white zombie live!!! 😂 That's a rare claim. Wish I had seen them multiple times ..wait I did, and so did the rest of the world!! LOL Im still glad I took it from the guy who's seen them though. 🤦🤦
I love that John 5 begins and then intersperses his solo with all these classic banjer-pickin’ Hee-Haw riffs and themes from B&W TV shows because the dude just loves what he loves, and Rob Zombie is smart enough not to get in his way… and this metal crowd goes crazy for it!!
Highly versatile guitarist. You should follow him on Instagram if you don’t already. He post a lot of practice videos going through all sorts of styles and techniques. Dude has played with all sorts of people from David Lee Roth, KD Lang, Tracy Chapman, Manson, and of course Rob. Sound and heavy hand.
I first heard john5 in red square black and I new right away there was a new super power guitarist who would carve a path through the music world like never before. I knew I had to see this kid the first chance I could. As fate would have it, john5 pulls into town with my favorite vocalist of all time Rob Halford in a band called Two and I was blown away. I never heard anything like them. ( great album guys one of my favorites still) I did the posters for Rob and john5 in Portland Oregon and my friend Paul Kearny did the interview on the tour bus. I first met john5 that day, I tell everyone who reads this J.L. is every bit as cool as his riffs are. I've played guitar pro for 40 years and been teaching for 30 years and I always shut up and listen to this kid every chance I get. I've also done work for Mr Zombie as well. John5 I'm so glad your with another Rob they seem to work great with you. I've been around the motley's since 82 and I would love to hear john5 do some work with Mr.Sixx. I would like to say hi to john5, Nikki Sixx, Rob Halford, Rob Zombie, Randy Costillo r.i.p. Randy. From Rob Elric of Portland Ore. Everyone who reads this check out every thing you can with this kid cause there's no limit to what John5 can do. Go Johnny go.
You have a awesome story my friend, yeah he's on another level and I just love seeing jealous fools leave hateful comments knowing none of them can play like John even in their dreams, and he's awesome with zombie
What an incredible story! Thanks for taking the time to comment, J5 certainly deserves the accolades and it's always great to hear stories from people with great experiences!
Damn this kicked ass! Rob Zombie still has it and, being fairly new to John 5 I thought he was great. Maybe more human than human you could say... sorry got carried away. Thank you i loved this!
I seen White Zombie 3 times and Pantera 7 times. Yes, it was a time you cant describe. The crowds were happy and slamming, the bands were so genuine and powerful. Pantera and White Zombie together were just amazing together.
Listening to this,It makes me realize I did not like Manson,But actually loved John 5!!!!!!!!He MADE Manson!!!! He can play anything, and is actually a humble guy who just loves playing!!!!
My 15 year old is a serious Manson freak... He recognized the difference between Manson then and now. That's the day I introduced him to John 5 and his skills. He's as into John 5 now as I am.
Seen that tour 96' I believe...Chicago Rosemont Horizon, its Allstate Arena now. Then in 99' I seen Rob by himself at Ozzfest....Kerry King came out during this song and played with him, Slayer played earlier...a day to truly remember folks n friends 👍🤘🤘
What this solo doesn't show is that often during this period Rob Zombie will often get in the audience (in theater shows) and walk the main aisle and high five people.
I could watch J5 play all day, everyday! He is one of, if not THE most well rounded play anything, so technically perfect guitarist of all time. And while he plays a lot of covers just due to his massive love of music in general, just about anything he plays is as good or better than the original artists. Not many people can say "I played so much guitar when I was young that my left hand out grew my right!" Truly a one of a kind genuine guy and a legit gift to the entire world of music!
Oh hell yes. I've been saying that for 18 years. They were so damn good with Jay, Sean and Tempesta. That was the lineup. White Zombie any day over Rob.
Same here, Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium, Danzig, and White Zombie. I can't remember where it put my car keys today, but I remember that show vividly. Side note, after this show we went down the street and caught Johnny Winter at the Catalyst night club.
honestly I've preferred Manson over zombies music for the most part over the years. I can't believe I had to miss them the 12th both being here together. To me watching these recent clips it looks like Zombie puts on twice the show Manson does. Damn he is still running around like its 15 years ago lol. Seems like John 5 is such a better fit here. They both seem like similar guys in the interviews. Im sure he has to feel like he is home when he plays. Love Manson's music but damn he can be rough on everyone around him it seems like.
Manson sucks and treated John 5 like shit.I realized over the years it was John 5 I actually liked and not Manson.Besides that,Manson is a sadistic fucking creep to women
I was at the Evil Twins show back in 2010. Zombie and Manson didn't sell put the arena that night. The top part of it was empty because they let everyone down on the floor.
John 5 is amazing Rob zombie talented in movies , art writing just loses his breath from running around and always has but hey that’s his style .Manson should of never fucked with John 5 he’s a top 10 guitarist I place at 5
I first saw White Zombie in 1992 with Danzig on Halloween night at Irvine Meadows. The music and show were awesome but Rob couldn't sing for the life of himself, looks like that hadn't changed in 2012. John 5 is the legend here in this video, such an amazing talent.
I saw White Zombie and Pantera at Starwood Amphitheatre in Nashville, TN. in 2001. White Zombie touring with Astrocreep and Pantera with Far Beyond Driven. Both bands slammed it hard but White Zombie had the show. I caught 2 of Rex's picks and one of Dimes that night. It's one of the greatest nights of my life.
I was backstage at the starplex when phil OD'ed after the show in Dallas. I was the one he gave his heineken to before he dropped. He was my bro. Pantera used to rehearse next door to my rehearsal room in Irving. Rob is an Al Jorgenson wanna-be all tho brilliant otherwise but he's so jealous of Ministry's work and always has been.
John 5 is an absolute god! When he played the Munsters theme it was like a premonition of what Rob was going to do! They should so get John 5 to do the theme for the film! 😁🤘
I really need to stop wasting so much of my time reading all the comments of all the music videos that I click on. Always filled up with a bunch of non-musician jealous untalented hating music critics arguing with all ot the bands groupie lovers
true...he has low creativity....he is like a dog you have to leash and unleash when prudent....but just imagine if a master song writer would let him loose
He needs to slow down because he loses his voice by the third song love rob seen zombie in 1995?at the tower lin philly we threw chairs off the balcony. It sounds as the best show
I hate it when Rob plays White Zombie tracks. Without J its just no good. No one can replace him.....he had his own sound. He had is own smooth style.....the way he blends that Metal feel with softer elements but at the same time always had an undertone of a blues element underneath....he kept it moving and it always worked for him. He's 1 of the main musicians I used to model my own sound.....serving as a heavy dose of inspiration in creating my own style starting out. He never gets enough credit. His contributions to WZ can never be replaced....just like Dimebag. Neither of these guitarists could ever be replaced. I believe thats why Rob dropped the name out of respect for J and Sean.....even though I'm sure he liked the idea of going on as a solo artist. Still....no matter who Rob has filling in on guitar it will never sound as good. When they start thunderkiss or black sunshine something is always off. The tempo always seems to be a bit fast.
I hate Rob Zombie for breaking up White Zombie because he wanted to go more techno and sell the f*** out 🤷💯 the song isn't even worth playing without J and Sean Yesult on bass!
The world is lucky to have John 5. I’m so glad to know there is still a guitar hero in today’s rock.
Would have been so much better had J played it. Take it from a guy who's seen White zombie live....I've seen Rob 3 times and it doesn't come close. Especially when they play White Zombie tracks. Versatility personified!! I could sware I heard the main riff from Aretha Franklin rock steady.
Highly versatile guitarist. You should follow him on Instagram if you don’t already. He post a lot of practice videos going through all sorts of styles and techniques. John 5 is a Fucken legend
John 5 makes it look so easy !! He will always be one of the greatest !!!!
John 5 is a great player but he is a session guy. He plays much better than he writes
I've seen zombie multiple times. Been in the pit everytime, but this was by far my favorite.

I saw _Randy Castillo_ drum for Ozzy Osbourne at the Providence Civic Center, 1986. He was very good and quite entertaining.

To do what he does and the sounds he makes on a Telecaster is just mind blowing.
So awesome to hear snippets of john 5's songs in his solo!
man he just makes it look easy .......he is awesome man !!!!!......and ending with the theme from the Munster's ...brilliant !!!
Especially since Rob just did a movie reboot of the show.
This concert was many years ago too.

I agree! I personally think John 5 is one of the most underrated guitarists out there! This guy has magic moves on the guitar.

Aubrey McKinney I was a Manson freak 12 years ago too lol loved John 5 but also the guitarist before him, and mansons old work is pretty dope
same for me!!! I do agree with you..
What a great sound 5 has.
Plays awesome. And any genre he kills it!
I love the "Munsters Theme Song" at the end!!!!!!!!

Zombie killed it. Thanks for the awesome quality! I got great sound but lil too far away to get good quality video. Thanks.!!
Rob is a VERY talented dude!
Amazing!!
What this solo doesn't show is that often during this period Rob Zombie will often get in the audience (in theater shows) and walk the main aisle and high five people.

What's the name of this solo
Stayed in tune whole time!
This is actually a pretty good recording for a phone or whatever it is.
I saw WZ open for Danzig in 92. They were spectacular and I’ve been a fan since that day
Same here, Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium, Danzig, and White Zombie. I can't remember where it put my car keys today, but I remember that show vividly. Side note, after this show we went down the street and caught Johnny Winter at the Catalyst night club.
Pentagrams popped up and I expected them to start playing Shout at The Devil
Yeah and he happens to be a longtime kiss fan so is Rob Zombie!
