cameras are awful in Gran Turismo, Dirt (4) games. Cars feel stiff, dead, as you control some brick or bench
Why do people use 3rd view cameras when playing a rally sim.... its okay if you’re playing need for speed or gta or any other arcade, but this is a sim, you can’t normally feel the car with that view, you need to be sticked to it, either inside view or hood, bumper at least

From someone who has had a go at WRC 7 & DR 2.0 for a while now, I personally think that they both are great, with each aiming, or at least ending up with, different types of fans; Hardcore sim racers for Dirt Rally 2.0 & casual racers for WRC 7. I used to dislike Dirt Rally (the first version) only coz it was a bit difficult/challenging...esp on a controller. (Yes..gamepad. I am usually on the move so no time to even think of buying a wheel.) Anyway, with patience, I got used to it & not surprisingly, I ended up shelving WRC 7 coz even the gameplay, sounds, visuals, immersion...all looked better for me in DR. Even the co-driver's pace notes in WRC 7 are awful in comparison. I played all on PC & with time, I got some mods for DR which improved the experience even further. With DR 2, everything (well almost) has been turned a notch higher. So its even better. But I'll just say this, if you are new to rallying & need a challenge, then DR 2.0 will be a good one for you. Don't panic or hate when you are crashing in every corner. With practice & patience, you'll end up having fun with its immersion, brutality & surrealism to the point that you'll forget the low number of locations the game has coz all you'll be doing is trying to improve your times in those few tracks. For a laid back casual gamer, then WRC 7 might just be for you. I say 'might' coz honestly, as much as the game itself is great, I feel like its short in everything (except for the number of locations) in comparison to Dirt (Rally, Rally 2.0 & 4). This includes WRC 6 & 5 too. Dirt 4 might be the better option for you in this case...so you'll have to consider that too. Its like one game series concentrated on quality whilst the other on quantity. All in all, the games are generally good & usually, they'll be based on your individual preference & entertainment/enjoyment levels/requirements. But I would personally recommend Dirt Rally 2.0 or even DR ......& if they are too harsh for you, crippling your enjoyment, then Dirt 4 would be the next best choice.

I think WRC has the license for all the official rally tracks that Dirt Rally does not have. So DR has to make their own tracks. Sure, the official ones are much better. I think if Dirt Rally had these tracks and licenses unlike WRC, WRC would not be able to keep the market any longer.

Both have there ups and downs, but i like Dirt 2.0 for its realism sim and great sound, although i feel alot of sounds are missing like the stones hitting under the car and brake squeal, and i wish we had more car controls like low/high beam and wipers off means off

No comments in the video about how the games play and feel in comparison ... A visual-only comparison is useless, as the visuals can be seen in countless other videos.
If you compare these games then you should pick same cars, WRC 7 has R5 Ford as well

wrc7 is much harder to play. tight roads and 100 times more bumps. it doesnt look so good as 2.0 but it feels real. if you want to have fun go for dirt rally.
Take the best parts of both and squish them together! Perfect rally sim complete!
Both have pros and cons. Dirt Rally does do a lot of things better, but in terms of stage design and number of locations WRC is waaaaay ahead. This is where Codemasters needs to concentrate their efforts. I'll get Dirt Rally cheap and only when the DLC has dropped.

But then the physics, graphics, sound, and literally everything else is better in dirt rally.
Wrc 7 has better stages because it has the wrc licensing, apart from that dirt rally beats it in every way
DR2.0 stages are modeled on real stages.

in Dirt Rally (it's a little better in WRC 7), it looks like the car weighs 3 tons. she is stuck to the road, the wheels never leave the ground or almost. the gravity management is really a goodbye. it is disappointing that in 2019 they do not realize this problem whereas in the 2000's the gravity was excellent on some rally games

the WRC series is progressing, its good, but there is still progress to be made. I say that because I play a game released in 2002 (WRC II Extreme) that has a better management of the vehicules's gravity than this WRC 7, I would like WRC to get closer to this level.
Remember also wrc4 which was amazing,i still play the game.
@@NihilistGhost wrc 4 has great graphics for a PS2 game. but I find the physics of the cars (which is one of the things if this is the most important thing for a rally game) failed. it's about the same problem as in Dirt, to know that in WRC 4 the cars are glued to the road, the tires leave the ground only very rarely, for a rally game it's not at all realistic, on this point WRC II Extreme is much better that's why I prefer it
Wrc 4 is still amazing on xbox 360 even the graphics.Nwo i prefer wrc7 until the wrc 8 comes.
as a keyboard player I prefer WRC7, it is a single rally game with convinient responsive keyboard control and more or less realistic look. Even now it looks fine enough in 4k and 60fps.

I’m going to say it like this. WRC 7 is better in terms of its diversity in tracks, and how it uses real tracks (that are licensed to the game and not DiRT *hint*) and cars, and the split-screen. however it really bothers me in other things. The sounds of the car, physics, graphics, (not really bothered, but DiRT is a little better) variety of event types or just stages, barely any different cars, etc. The co-driver annoys me, too. With DiRT Rally 2.0 adding dlc, it will dominate. WRC 8 has a slight chance. Just stating my opinion. Also if your wanting simulation, I’d like to say that DiRT definitely wins. I notice by the majority of Rally driver that play it.

WRC 7 feels the same driving on tarmac, snow or gravel! 4 stages per rally, no media, no parc ferme, no service zone! They did nothing with the license!

Wrc 7 was maybe the best rally game i have ever played. Graphigs were ok. Steering was better but still not quite yet like real rally car. I liked to play career mode to the end. When other wrc games... and i had more fun playing this than dirt rally 1 and 2.

WRC 7 and real rally experience? What drugs are you on? I played both, even DiRT Rally 1 and I prefer DR 1 over all. DiRT Rally 2.0 is just too arcadish and WRC 7 is *nowhere near* real rally experience. Oh, and the robotic co-driver is fucking terrible. Even tho I hate some things in DR 1, I think it's the best one of those three.

Love WRC7 but
Dirt Rally 2.0 on Tarmac is absolute disappointment. WRC 7 has more realistic handling on tarmac. Second- wrc 7 stages are the best what you can find now in rally games. Dirt Rally 2.0 need much improvement. I'm still waiting for a real hardcore simulator that focuses mainly on the physics and technicalness of the tracks and not only on graphics and looks.

Cannot understand the 2.0 hype. Fortunately my games store had a 7 day return policy. Boring, limited tracks, physics meh, and a half game DLC money grab Neither are perfect simulations just games so the only thing saving them is variety however as a stand alone game Dogshit 2.0 was lacking.
I like both games but DIRT RALLY 2.0 is better WHY ? because there is alot more cars and graphic is better and when i play wrc7 on simulation difficulty its soo easy on dirt rally its harder

Codemasters should definitely learn from WRC how to make the stages. WRC 7 has the best rally stages what I ever seen in rally game. Next thing is that WRC 7 has still better tarmac physics like Dirt rally 2.0. Ok graphics is better in Dirt Rally,but that is not so important.

Dirt 2.0 tarmac physics are not that bad that many say they are. not good but not totally bad. you can definetly have a blast when driving thru those beautifully hand made stages on spain in DR2.0. Car sounds and sounds in general the co-driver and cars and how every car feels and sounds different. plus the rallycross in Dr2.0 is stunning. Wrc7 is a one trick pony compared to Dirt rally

For me Dirt Rally 2.0 looks like is using a much improved "center pivot turning" like in CM 1, 2, 3, etc. from the 90's and 00's era. The way the car rotates, especially on tarmac, makes me doubt if there are some real physics under the hood or just a very good caned physics system. Also, no real weight transfer, just floating over the asphalt. It doesn't feel natural like Richard Burns Rally. I'm disappointed.

Devin Ponder I’m not a fanboy; it’s just my preference. I do admit that WRC has better designed tracks, has split-screen, more locations and well... its colours are actually more realistic. Dirt rally 2.0 is too vibrant. But other parts DiRT Rally 2.0 has over WRC is lighting, (I find) car sounds, you can actually hear the damn co-driver, sense of speed, weather.
