    I'm doing one of these tomorrow on a 2014. I've never done one before, we'll see how it goes. Thank you so much for your video!

      Howd it go?

    • @Laura-ellie
      @Laura-ellie 10 месяцев назад +5

      @@mayken6661 Actually pretty well! I ended up not having to jack up the engine at all. I removed all the bolts for the front diff and dropped it down as far as it would go, then removed all the pan bolts. At that point the only thing that kept it from being able to be removed was the pick up tube that hung down inside the pan. I was able to lower the pan enough to remove the bolts for the tube, then the tube and pan came out together. Once the new one was ready to go back in I made sure the tube was sitting in the pan, got it in place, bolted up the tube, then finally bolted the pan in place. This may not seem easier for some people, but it was simpler than having the jack the engine for me. Thanks for asking!

    Whit a helper, the front diff. take 15 minutes to remove. Hammer the 2 cv axles with a pry-bar (the short screwdriver style one). Once the axels are disconnected from the CV Intermediate Shafts, you have to disconnet the electric connector and unbolt the diff. and thats it.

      uh huh ,well I replaced my cv axle on passenger side and it was an absolute mother fker!! beat on it ,ended up I had to cut it in two pieces with grinding wheel and I used heat and still had to beat on the pieces and my truck is same year and not even half the rust on it that one has actually hardly any rust only on seam of frame . I replaced A arms top bottom tie rods cv axles brakes hub bearings ,had no issues, but that passeger side CV ,,FK!!!!!!! I was wondering if that is why he did it that way....probably didnt want to fk with that pass cv.

      Ya, the model 2012 and higher are a pain in the ass to repair. But the 2011model, belive me or not, you just have to remove 4 10mm bolts to remove the front pass. axle. Its a different front differential. The problem with the axles is that the connection is to short and the gear wear to fast and the avle start to wiggle. I have a friend who fixed the probplem, he welded the axle to the intermediate axle shaft before reinstalling. Now it probably last for 4 or 5 years or more instead of 2 :0)

    And for the front drive shaft, its a 4 bolts front side and a slider rear side :0)

    What the part that you re-installed on 29:37 called? My truck is missing this. Is it only for 4wd or for 2wd? My truck is 2wd.

      It is a brace and it covers the flywheel. Not sure exactly what it is called and I’m not 100% sure if it is on the 2 Wheel Dr. but I believe it is.

      2 Wheel Dr. pays 3 hours, four-wheel-drive pays 5.1 hours. It would depend on your experience how long it would take. Thanks for watching like and subscribe.
