    Yep, Dave put it succinctly. There's a lot to be gained from experimentation with different strains of barley. While visiting the distillery back in July this year, I was thrilled to have a quick chat with one of the distillery workers who was proudly holding the first bag of local Raasay barley in his hand with which they wanted to do a trial run. The enthusiasm was infectious. Since Raasay's coast is a little more protected than say Islay's west coast, I'm hoping they'll be able to make a go of it with a hardy strain that's well adapted to local conditions.
