I remember that truck from one of the ATHS shows in Minnesota in the early 90s. He was a young kid then. Offered him cash money to buy it and put it to work in my company. Unfortunately he turned me down. I'm glad to see that he's held onto it all these years. The rear rims were steel back then, but the rest of the truck is still the same as in my pictures.
Merry Christmas lady thanks for the good ol trucks that you find and let us see pictures are 100% better when people see them , praise Jesus Christ grace amen thanks BigAl California
Man, that is so cool looking! They sure made some neat and unique cabovers back in that era. I love the modern wheels and the beautiful paint scheme on it now.
I was born in 1962 and remember well this style of Diamond T and Diamond Reo. Awesome story of it's restoration about an awesome looking truck. Thank you for posting Miss Flatbed Red!
The owner is my cousin. You wouldn't believe the blood, sweat, and tears that were poured into this truck. I used to play in the cab before he bought it...good ole days
Yeah dude, that is a nice office. Thk u for saving it..if this was 6 years ago I would of said different. It's just recent ii got into the cab over bc some 1 was trashing one & I saved it & was going to sale it but instead worked it got my own contracts & in the office everyday. Now I like all first canovers I'm looking at a 59 for 4ooo.⁰⁰. Not sure the price, free is a little bit more around the price I'm looking for but anyhow
Merry Christmas to you. Love hearing the stories of great finds of trucks and old cars. That's a beauty of a rig he's built. And a cool story to go along with it. Really enjoy your talent drawing the trucks. Grew up in a trucker family and always had trucks around. Be safe out on those hi ways and by ways drivers ! Cheers
Mister you should more love and wisdom then than your elders did (With respect, of course). Like you I've had a love for BIG RIGS from the time I was still a baby. My Mom told me I would always get excited and start screaming Everytime I saw one drive by. As time went on I grew a love for building 1/25 scale plastic models (TRUCKS & TRAILERS of course) My first ride in one was in a 1976 PETERBILT 359 Conventional, And you better believe I enjoyed every inch of every mile of the trip. I also got into MECHANICS as a MECHANICS HELPER at 7 and repaired my first car (not truck, yet) at 14. But unfortunately me being born Epileptic, and will be 58 in one month I know I'll never get to drive one professionally. But nothing says I can't repair/restore them, And if I'm ever blessed enough to buy about 5 acres of the grid, Build me a shop I would call it a HEAVEN ON EARTH for me. And to "Flatbed Red" you are a dream come true for people like me who loves these old IRON MULES for me to see.
Saved from the cutter's torch, always makes me smile to see a vintage piece of machinery given a second chance at life. ❤
A beauty of a truck!
Just wonderful that he saved it. So few of them around.
