I was looking at my purchase agreement and there were 5 items listed as "fees". I questioned all 5. In the end, they removed 3 of the fees, one fee was reduced by almost 80% and one fee I had to pay. I'm happy that the local Toyota dealerships I've bought cars from don't play any of these games. Even last year when the GR Corolla first started to arrive at dealers and some were charging outrageous mark ups, my local dealer charged me MSRP with zero add-ons and no games in the finance office. It was a very simple process and this was for the very first GR Corolla that they received! Dealers that play these games should face steep penalties from Toyota as it only hurts the brand when I'd really only the dealer being terrible.

  • @olebelrngr

Southeast Toyota controls which vehicles the dealers get and may not ship vehicles to a dealer that does not buy the extras they routinely add. Toyota made a major mistake years ago using them as a distributor for the southeast.

Toyota wants too much for the RAV4 Prime. It is common at all their dealerships to add overpriced accessories to these highly sought after vehicles. It is not worth it. I drive a 25 years old F150. Before they were ECOBoost crap. Ford calls me all the time with Special Offers for me of 3k just to walk in the door of a new one. These companies including Toyota are not out for the consumer. We are living in a day in age where the quality over quantity is not a thing anymore.
Toyota is doing this as well , How can we find creative new ways to gouge the customer and screw them so they can pad their bottom line. I advise anybody to drive the oldest car you have the longest you can. Car Payments are the number 1 killer of wealth. All those people paying 700$ minimum a month are just wasting the best years of your life of compound interest.

I can tell you exactly what the problem is people are too loyal to Toyota because Toyota used to make good vehicles back in the day so people just assume they make good vehicles now when they're absolutely garbage it doesn't surprise me that they have a lawsuit we've had lawsuits for years and years now and I used to feel sorry for the people to buy these piece of junk but it's very hard because people keep getting screwed over by Toyota and the keep on going back how do you have sympathy for stupidity I don't mean to be so honest and blunt people need to stop buying their garbage the only way to hurt Toyota is to hurt the wallet maybe if enough customers stop buying their garbage and they lose a lot of sales then it would force them to start making good vehicles again and stop ripping off their customers

Right. Chuckle, laugh, and celebrate. Tell me what's different between fines and taxes? Stopping bad practices is great. But government fining them does nothing but hurt the consumer more unless that money goes back to the customers. Government will just piss that money away just like they do with our taxes. And Toyota will just find a way to pass those fine costs on to the customers, just like any company does with taxes.
