I love Acura, even daily my 04 TL with 250k miles and running like a champ…my problem is that they’re entirely too expensive, I looked at a TLX, loved it, but I’d never be able to afford it, 64k I’ll just keep driving my TL and repair it as I go
That's true for all car manufacturers these days. I wish everyone would stop buying until these manufacturers realize $50k+ for a grocery getter is ridiculous. Even $40k+ is too much.
I have one of the last 2023 Acura TLX with SH-AWD and the Advanced Package and i love it. Im planning to get the Type S when they refresh the model, but i belive a touchscreen, more interior space (for the TLX at least), and a hybrid option would do wonders for the brand.
The TLX is too heavy for a "sports" car. The Integra needed at the very least AWD to differentiate itself from a Civic type R. 5 extra Hp is not cutting it.
I'm not sure I want any new product from Honda these days. Quality is going downhill and j d power puts Honda well below average. Prices are crazy too an Accord is considerably more expensive than a Camry and has more issues. No thanks

Thank you for your honesty. The "headlines" always state in bold, Toyota-Honda. But if we read the details beyond the headline we realize a different story exists. So if you can live with hard touch plastics or survive without needless "luxuries" like a heated steering wheel then look at Mitsubishi or Nissan. I contacted many dealers and asked what is you best out the door price and they don’t want to give. If they wanted to sell they would do it but they are more interred in trying to squeeze me by getting me there in person.

The problem with Acura is availability. Try finding an TLX Type S. Completely impossible. When you can't get one it will kill the sales. What the Acura sales people are telling me is they have shifted all their manufacturing energy into a new EV. One reason TLX sales are in the dumps is because Acura isn’t building them. I’ve been checking four dealers within 4 hours of me since November for a Type S and so far only two of them have received two each and they sold right away. As for the tech and Aspec, the most I’ve seen on the lot at once is 3. I just put a deposit down last week to secure one and they told me 60-90 days and that it could possibly be a 2025 model at this point.
I never really got Acura. They seem to be like Hondas with marginally different styling. Their cars aren’t particularly fast or luxurious. Not sure what they are trying to do.
Just left Acura after being an owner since my 2001 CL. The new TLX is pretty but the small rare seat and infotainment issues made me get rid of it. As a car guy there is nothing the brand has for me. My wife loves her 2022 MDX.
Why Acura is failing??? Because it's expensive without the luxury features.... when comparing an Acura to a Lexus, you can clearly see the craftsmanship and material quality differences.... when you get into a Lexus, you know you've stepped into a special expensive luxury car... you know you're in a different class...whereas the Acura won't give you that special "I've made it" feeling... the Acura brand is too expensive.... you pay more for less metal....
Yes there are advantages to buying a Lexus bus with an Acura they still have naturally aspirated V6 in the SUvs and the Lexus is moving away from that. Advantages both ways
It’s funny that modern SUV’s are nothing more than fancy station wagons that resemble the oldest station wagons from the nineteen twenties to thirty’s more than the 40’s to 70’s wagons most remember. They were called station wagons because they were used to transport people and luggage to and from train stations to hotels. People realized they were practical for families so that trend started and is still going strong. It’s ridiculous that people who wouldn’t be caught dead in a station wagon are buying and driving renamed station wagons called SUV’s!. Mini vans don’t look like early station wagons. My mom drove a 1960 Studebaker lark station wagon and now a daughter drives a CR-V Honda station wagon lol!. Just like when I was a kid it’s mostly women driving the SUV station wagons and I can imagine what my mom would have said if someone called her wagon a “sport utility vehicle” Even though it was better than modern SUV’s for hauling or towing sports boats, motorcycles and camping gear and got better gas mileage than the mid sized or large SUV’s of today. Best of all mom’s wagon could be repaired at home with basic car repair tools and there wasn’t any unreliable computer controlled nonsense to empty the bank account. Things and people were better back then, both cars and people were less fake.
