I shared a tiny table at a smokey jazz club with Dave....we were both listening to my dear friend, Rio Clemente at the legendary jazz club, the Van Dyke club in Schenectady , New York. I could barefly beliieve it,...felt as though I should pinch myself ! To me, hands down, Dave was the absolute top of the line as jazz pianists go..no one..ever...had a left hand like his! Sadly missed by so many jazz fans all over the world. Will never forget that night!

Wow, seeing D McK in person was such a privilege. He came to Madison, WI several times. I got the music lessons of my life at his side. I usually watch player's feet, to observe their pedaling, but I watched McK's hands, as that was the real point of origin for his magic. Pulse all the time, my personal musical goal. MBB
Well I've never seen him in person ...so wished I had. Isn't is wonderful to hear great piano players,...... sitting a bar listening to guys like Dave McKenna bring back so many memories of how many wonderful magical times I've had in my life, how much joy Dave brought to others...thanks for this contribution video ...love it

No one swings quite like he did. George Shearing once said McKenna was one of his favourites, a compliment indeed.
