NIce video, thanks for the recomendation, I have a Plugable USB-C triple display docking station and works well with my MacBook Pro 2019, my docking works with the DisplayLink software so this is the only think that I considere as a difference with the Elecife, but the fact that this has a m.2 slot is freaking awsome, and the price is really afforable compared with other options in the market. So, one question #DBTech, Is this still using USB-C standard or this is using in fact Thunderbolt 3 or 4?
What is the CPU usage when this dock is connected with all the mentioned interfaces plugged in? I have had a poor experience with standard USB dock with couple displays attached and some USB devices. My Windows laptop (actually pretty decent workstation, but not the last gen) was idling around 15-20% CPU usage just because of such dock connected. So it actually slows down your PC. But no reviewer is actually paying attention to this!
That's a really good question and it's something I did notice during my testing. My Aura 15 laptop actually performed better with this device (with 4 screens running) than it does with my Sabrent docking station (with just 1 (external) display).
@@DBTechYT A future improvement for review: when testing external docks - always check CPU usage when connected with different peripherals. Like single dock and 1 ext display = % CPU usage; several displays + some more = % CPU usage; ALL ports connected = % CPU usage.
@@vladpros81yep I think we need a desktop with graphics card able to do multiple hdmi outputs to overcome this situation. I was looking for same setup from laptop but I gave up after having cpu throttling issues often.
my laptop has 2 usb type c and one hdmi port can i connect 3 monitors?
can the doc station take the input from the laptop and create 3 pbp monitors on one large tv?
Have you done any videos on Portainer and connecting multiple docker instances?

I think it's just using USB-C. The Lenovo Thinkpad has Thunderbolt 3, but the Aura doesn't and it worked well on both.

Is it possible to have three external monitors when my Lenovo dock only has 2 hdmi ports?
if your dock only has 2 hdmi ports for displays, it's unlikely. it might support display over USB-C, but I can't verify that
This works with PC ? Or only with Mac ?
The entire video showed Windows. I don't own a Mac
Would have been nice if you went through actual set up
plug laptop into docking station. plug keyboard/mouse into docking station. plug monitors into docking station. success.
What about graphic card requirement
both of the laptops I tried this with just used the onboard graphics to power all the screens
does it work with linux?
There are linux drivers in the folder that you can see at 5:33 so I would assume it would have some compatibility
Wait, what! I thought you were able to use only 2 external displays, even with thunderbolt 4!
Yeah. This one allowed me to connect 3 external displays. The last one I reviewed only allowed for 2 external. I like this one a lot!
@@DBTechYT I got to check what my Gen 11 thunderbolt 4 laptop can do!
I always assumed I was stuck with the internal and 2 externals.
Thx 😉
if the box has its own gpu in it, it can support more monitors.
do not like that aggressive voice approach
aggressive voice approach? care to elaborate?
