OH YEAHHH MT15, I love mine! Your videos were the final straw for me to get one. Not enough power people say? I do have a small room for a studio, so I had no choice. Got the MT 15 next to me and I put my 2-12 Mesa cab downstairs in the basement. I got it miced off and I can open it up and pump it through the JBL's. The noise does not bother me at all. Standby or pull the slider back, no big deal. Still working on getting the Mud Killer and that's going to be sooner than later, can't wait.
My personal favorite is the Soldano Astro. Sounds huge and loud. However, it may not be the tightest and as brutal for thrash style as the MT15 or the Engl but does 80’s rock extremely well.
Hey man, nice to see you slowing some parts of your solos down. I firmly believe playing slower, more fluent solos is often harder than full on shredding because it's very noticeable if you hit a bum note. Great stuff!
Lunchbox amps are killer. Fireball 25, Jel20, dsl20, mt15, astro 20. The list goes on and on. They sound good at home and on stage/rehearsal. More then enough than anyone needs these days, plus most are packed with great useful features on top of great tones!
I would really like to check out a MT 15. Some of the Orange lbx stuff is cool. I gigged one of there Lbx offerings and it easily can hang with a drummer in a small to average club. For awhile there was a rumor Orange was going to introduce a heavier sounding LBX head with added controls and hieroglyphics of a middle finger and a shove it symbol. Hell I would buy it just for the hieroglyphics 😆😆
I came for the lead playing....and the MT15 because I just got one a few months ago. I run that thing through a 4x12 and can almost drown out my drummer 😁
I run my MT-15 through an old Peavey 4×12 from the late 80's ( I believe?) Because it is what I have. The cabinet seems to have gain breakup at a higher level on the nob than a lot of demo's I have watched here on YT. I wonder if it is because of the near 40 year old celestions in the cab? Gk-12 75's If I recall. I was curious if I pick up a used 2x12 with some v30's or something if it will have more grit. I have actually come to prefer the 7 watt setting on the MT 15. I like that spongey " chewey" tone, lol. Just jawjacking. Too much coffee before work...
They both sound great to me. The peavey invective 20 i couldn't stand. No headroom so the power section would come through, and it sounded terrible. I could only get to 3 on the volume. So i bought the 120 invective. Still didn't like it, but for different reasons. The MT15 is killer i love mine. Great playing, by the way.
I had the EvH 5150 LBXII, and it kinda gave me nothing but trouble. I gigged with it a few times and couldn’t get a sound I liked without the amp sounding like there was a box of bees inside of it. Those amps have EL84’s which make sense. It played over a loud drummer (but barely) ended up trading it and the cabinet for a PRS SE 50 combo amp
Love the vids man. I love my 5150 stealth lbx but that Engl is so amazing. Other than volume, what is the biggest benefit of going 100w over the 25 if you only play small venues? Do you find the fireball 25 lacking in anyway for a full band?
Anywhere that has a PA, do you ever have a need for 100 watts? Maybe a 25 watts head is not useable in rehearsal situations for a really loud band, but for gigging why would you need anything louder than even 4 watts?
Did everyone forget? Not all of us need a 100 watt full stack to get a good tone! Or just to have them ! In actuality, a good 15-25 watt amp works great for 98% of us!
The only difference between 15 and 100 watts is about 2db with a great cab. Get a cab with speakers that have a spl rating of 91 db or higher and "volume' wise..........there will not be a noticeable difference. Science is brutal.
Sounds really good! I don't see why anyone can complain about anything like these amps anymore with how well they handle the abuse we give them. I love it!
Jarrod do not feel bad about a few wrong notes,i know your lead parts are really hard to play and most of us would not likely even be able to play at your level!
They def don’t suck. They just aren’t useful for my applications….i play in a loud metal band using 4x12 cabs and we need a decent amount of clean headroom to remain clear and tight. At least 50 watts
I was suprised at how loud the Fireball 25 can be. I got one about a month ago. Master just under halfway and it's perfect. I was using a Triple Rectifier. I'm sending the Fireball through a Mesa oversized. The triple is staying at home now.
@@acdover I’m sure I could make the FB25 or the MT15 work, but they use actual big horrible tubes. Most of these use el84 which just turn to mush once you get high volume. I used a 50 watt handbuilt hot rodded JCM800 amp that my brother in law built. It’s super lightweight and sounds insane. Has 4 modes too….jcm800 stock, then a version with a lot more gain, and then two clipping options that change the low end and gain response. I also own several actual 100 watt name brand heads but I always just use this home made 50 watt.
That mesa 2x12 with the V30's also adds some nice ambience to the heads.
Bought a Engl Fireball 25 and it’s killer. I was shocked at how well it does the modded Marshall sound.
I have the 100 and on the clean with dimed gain + boss sd-1 it's marshall enough!

It depends on the power section. I hate EL84 amps for example, but amps like ENGL Fireball 25 or MT15 have a very nice power section
Hell no they dont... I can speak to the PRS MT15. Engl Fireball 25. Orange Dark Terror. Orange OR15. And YES, the Micro Dark rips!
My personal favorite is the Soldano Astro. Sounds huge and loud. However, it may not be the tightest and as brutal for thrash style as the MT15 or the Engl but does 80’s rock extremely well.
I have the ENGL Fireball 25 and I love it. I had the PRS MT15 but the hum from the effects loop was unbearable and I returned it.

IDK why but when say Julius chorus, All I want to do is go back to an 80's Mall and get an Orange Julius. LOL.. Awesome playing.
Another awesome video! All the best. Great playing too!
Thank you!!
I had the Hughes kettner gm 40 , years ago and it held up great.

PRS MT-15 sounds like a BEAST, puts to shame many big boy 100W heads.

That new Steve Morse sounds like a Rockman in head form!
Agree. Was not impressed, sounds thin.

I wish I still had my Krank rev 20 and my Marshall DSL 1... Now lemme get that new Warhead!
Edit: The fireball25 just has that tasty sizzle

Had the Ironball SE 20. Sounded great. I hated to have to sell it, but it was taking up precious space.
I was waiting for you to demo the new Steve Morse Engl.
If I get my hands on it, I definitely will

The Victory Kraken mk2 is a beast of a lunchbox. However it is a 50 watt amp.
That lead playing on the Engl was fking nice dude
@sheharyarkhan2384 thank you so much
I didn’t like the Fireball 25 , ended up sending it back . But to each his own. Still love the videos and content .
Invective MH fits this category in my opinion.

The real critique about sounding tiny and breakup is trying to play them with a real drummer. Not a random stock drum track.
If my only purpose of commenting is to say you're a bad ass guitar player then..........let the record reflect that fact.

Oh come on dude, I was 12 once and knew it all too! Now I am older, I don't know jack. Being a genius is for the youth. 😜😜
Sounds great by the way.
Your gain is set to 11 bud. 😂
They suck bro
