Excellent review! Superb quality and we enjoyed the music as well. We just got a Nespresso Vertuo Pop machine and I was looking for coffee pods which would make the most coffee. Your video helped me decide that may be I should go for something smaller until they release additional flavors. I appreciate it.
I like the strong black coffee. Now they have a “mild” version and I am so happy they did not replace the original dark. I hope they continue to add variety but still prefer the dark.
I found the carafe in Goodwill and grabbed it not knowing what it was for and I really appreciate your honesty about the flavor. I got this thinking it was a pour over and will probably use it that way.
Thanks. I enjoy the Nespresso coffee and was going to buy this machine for use of the carafe . Your comments on the taste of the coffee was extremely helpful
Totally 😂 it's a solid design though, I'm sure I'll use it for other things. But not necessary.. as long as you have 18oz mugs you're all good really. Or pull it into a French press why not!
@@CoffeeTimeJR I just came across this video and thought I'd let you know that Nespresso came out with a new carafe pod flavor. It's much smoother and I believe it's a medium roast? (I could be wrong) but it's called Pour-Over Style Mild. It's good enough to be drank on its own without any milk or cream, not bitter like Nespresso pods tend to be
i just hope the make carafe available in all vertuoline so i can finally buy a Nespresso. We are coffee drinkers and waiting each cup being made, makes the other impatiently waiting for their caffeine fix.
I like the idea of Nespresso offering a pour-over since I really enjoy them; however, i am not a fan of bitter or overly bold coffee. More choices please
Can Vertuo pop also make this Carafe size coffee technically or not? I know that no Carafe would fit under it, because vertuo pop is much smaller, but my questions is only about if vertuo pop can "technically" use these Carafe sized capsuls or not? For example, when I put the vertuo pop machine onto some books and place a big carafe under it, can I then technically use it to make carafe sized coffee or would Vertuo Pop not recognize the capsul at all?
It’s a great idea making coffee for a couple of people with just on pod but I don’t like really strong coffee and that coffee looked really strong hopefully they will bring out some more coffees maybe even flavoured one thank you for sharing
@@CoffeeTimeJR Can you tell us what this XL capsule was similar to, in their 7.7 oz size? I enjoy the Stormio or the Colombia. There are a few that are really bitter, like the Mexicano.
I like a coffee that kicks me in the teeth in the morning. I'm curious to try this but I don't know if that larger pod will fit in my machine. Do I have to get a newer model to use those pods? definitely subscribing.
Did you notice the Big Flaw, it is over extracted...notice the color of the full extraction it starts off good brown gold, then it is clear blonde water....clearly overextracted. It should stop as soon as the brown gold gets light yellow. So now do this make another pod and watch, press the stop button as soon as the thick brown gold changes clear, take pod out and then add clear hot water by pushing the button .
No capsule, no water. Nespresso does not make water. There is a bar code under the capsule. It does not work without the capsule. Nice try. If the coffee is too strong for you just heat some water or add frothed milk.
Por qué me sale el texto en español pero el video está en inglés? Tema a parte, es muy fácil decir que es un café tostado y ahumado si precisamente lo tiene escrito en la caja... y ese medio litro de café parece café aguado....
Overall, 2 years later, I think the Nespresso coffee's are pretty ordinary. I like a strong full bodied coffee, but I find unless you lace most of their pod coffees with sugar and milk, they're pretty 'thin'. But that's just my opinion.
Right?? Its actually a super nice decanter I was surprised haha. I'm not sure on the pod capacity though... I should've opened one to weigh it out but alas i did not!
@nachotp that's why the instructions say to stir it before serving. Unless you are going tonwaste coffee the end of any brew will be lighter than at the beginning. And egads, people here would really be complaining how strong it would be if it was just as dark at the end of the brew as it was at the beginning. Such first world problems.
I buy this machine a week ago everything was good in till 2 days ago is not working properly every time I put a capsule no matter what side the water doesn't stop in till I manually stopped if I don't press the bottom to stopped where ever amount of water the tank has come out in till the tank is empty Someone knows how to fix it or what I'm doing wrong?
this is a tough one.. You might want to try resetting the volume that it determines is meant for a capsule. But now that I think about it, it's easy to do on the original machine, but I'm not sure about the Vertuo.. Your best bet is looking in the manual to see if they have something like this. On the Original you can hold the button down and let go once you reach enough liquid to tell the machine to memorize that volume.
I definitely DO NOT agree with your review. Being Italian and drinking espresso just recently in Italy…. This has the perfect intensity and taste for a true espresso. You can add milk and sugar to sweeten it but anything lighter would make this regular coffee.
Except... wasn't the whole point of this pod to NOT be espresso? This was their attempt to make a full size pot of coffee from their pod system and it tasted awful. I'm not clear what your comment is getting at honestly. Also, I always find it kind of wild when people claim Italy is the best place for espresso and anything else is not "real" espresso. In reality, the dark and burn coffee of Italy Is a thing of the past. The third wave movement of coffee has made it clear that people all around the world now care more about light roasting and actually tasting the flavor of the beans
I found the coffee to fall very short of my expectations for Nespresso. Very weak coffee, with very little body. I love Nespresso, but this doesn’t meet their standards.
@@CoffeeTimeJR I programmed the machine to brew it at around 14 1/2 oz. Big difference. Just a bit more tweaking (more or less water) to find the sweet spot. Give it a try. See what you think
@@cinurwe to program you simply hold down the brew button until it has dispensed the amount you desire. Release the button when it fills the carafe to the level you desire. Okay so hear me out. What if I don't pay $50 for the carafe and I just put a real big mug underneath. Would that work?😅

Kylie is asking the real questions here, that’s exactly why I’m watching this video 😳
I tried to use my own carafe and it didn’t work :((. The red light kept coming on when I tried to run the machine.

Do these pour over pods work in the VeruoPlus Macine??
@coffee time, how many grams of coffee grounds are there in the pod? It does look a tad watery!
If I already have a pour over carafe (not nespresso branded), will it work with this model?

This isn't pour over. This is "use your machine to make coffee and have it go into a carafe to make more than 1 cup"..... 🙄

If it needs cream and sugar to hide the taste, it is just a sadly flavored brew.
