Gujrat, Bengaluru these type of locations should not be made capitals because during war time, it would become liabilities for armoud forces to protect industrial or space program assets instead of protecting their own defensive assets.
I am glad that you have accepted the fact that "Delhi has become the national capital of crime". I have many friends from Delhi ,even they are fed up with this.
The major reason behind the crime is migrants.. In last 20 year delhi population is increased at lest 5 times If you look at all the major crimes 80% times you’ll find up or Bihar behind it.. No one discussed this Check nirbhay case or ankit case
True. New Delhi should remain national capital. But there should be subsidiary capitals too, like Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai, representing all four directions of India.
Nagpur is actually the centre of India, there’s a special landmark for it. Nagpur would be the best option, it’s connected to every corner of the country. I’m not from Nagpur but as a Bhartiya, Nagpur is the most logical and safe choice for Akhandata.

This will not be feasible as the capital required will be huge and we also have partially failed to create a new capital city of Amaravati for Telangana. So it is better to develop tier - 3 or tier - 2 cities like Nagpur for the future capital.
Nagpur is best option because it is in interior of India and in center of India. This makes connectivity to all other parts of India almost the same. Also, it will be away from coast so we can avoid things like climate change, intrusions from sea borders.

Nagpur is perfect, in the center of country, is easy to all mp and minister travel for Nagpur, and can be protective from nuclear attacks. And other benefit two big cities like Mumbai and pune near from it.

I think we should work to improve every situations in Delhi rather than changing the capital to any other city. Since India is a developing country, to change the capital may lead to slow down in the developing economy..
Nagpur being centrally located in India could be a good option for shifting the capital, as it would result in the same distance for everyone coming and going.
Hyderabad should be new capital city as it has already Rashrapati bhavan and also good infrastructure and has large scope to vast landscape spread with less capital of amount spending. And the best part is good connevtivity accross all India.
I think Nagpur/Indore can be second capital and can have half yearly management of the government load. This will also help Better Efficiency and Quality Output.

If you wanna alternative of a capital city then the Hingna-Butibori developing agro-industrial area of Nagpur fulfills the criteria. Hyderabad and Bangalore are no longer a small meteropolis infact they have become a large megapolis. So turning them into a capital may make them like another Delhi. New capital must need a relatively less settled area like Nagpur, Raipur, Bhopal.
So after making Nagpur as a capital and when it will get full with metropolis then you will go for next option it's not a joke to change Capital of any Country

Nagpur is the best bet. Else some small city in that range, Viz., Ballarshah, Adilabad, Nanded or Bidar can be developed. But once we decided upon that, The Govt. should ensure that the Capital should remain mainly an Administrative & Legislative Capital, Consists mostly of Govt. Officials. I would recommend the Supreme Court should be located away from the Capital. Administrative & Legislative Capital in Nagpur and the Supreme Court in Delhi with Benches in Kolkatta, Nagpur/Mumbai and Chennai/Bangalore. In the Capital City, we Should limit Business or Commercial investments.
As an urban Planner, my suggestion is to decentralize various activities & offices in NCR + check on unauthorised colonies on the periphery of Delhi is one solution!

I feel that shifting capital isn't a small thing but if leaders from every state respond to this issue then few can focus on new capital infrastructure and other states on fundamental policies to be taken. I hope this happens
Nagpur is best option, India can develop 3 main Business areas and sectors which are important for country (all Ministry office and transportation, Defence, finance, Semi Conductor, Cyber security, Power and Automotive). These are power sectors of any country as they help in generation of long term revenue on regular basisi. These sectors can be comfortably developed in Nagpur.
As Karnataka, and Jammu Kashmir... India can have a second capital city. Belagavi (Belgaum) of Karnataka can be the best second capital city. This city has a very similar environment and language like Bangalore. It's a well connected city. And it's disputed territory between Maharashtra and Karnataka. So it can be a UT
I think building more SEZ nearby state capitals would take the burden of overpopulation. Shifting the capital is not a pragmatic solution in current scenario. Having more than one capital is more practical like South Africa.
Thats right brother... to increase importance of Delhi, GoI established all kind of economic activities as well as facilities there. People from nearby state started migrating there from 60's. If they had implemented uniform diffusion of development and facilities across the north India region and restricted over-settlement of new population around Delhi by proper town planning, the Delhi must have been much better today.
If India shifts its capital from New Delhi to another city, then it is better for country. Because, already you know that New Delhi is very over crowded so if India shifts its capital then it could be either Kanpur or Jabalpur, so that it would be very easy for our government to administer the whole country, because of its central geography.
What's happening in Delhi is quite inevitable. See it's like when there is a capital people migrate to that capital to get better opportunities in life as a result population increases, after that people settle and they buy vehicles for themselves as a result pollution and traffic increases And when there is a lot of crowd there is unemployment also so crime increases. No matter wherever in this world you make capital this is goona happen. What we have to do it is to control it and have some proper mechanism to tackle it rather than running away from it.

When central vista project was under consideration, that time I wrote PM for wondering Nagpur as it is in center of India. But, no attention was given to my suggestion.

I think having this discussion is a stupid idea for now as the new parliament and new administrative blocks have been built or in the process of being built but however if there are plans of having a second capital in the future then it should be in the south and not any of the three main southern cities but a place like nagpur would be ideal looking at it's geographical location

There is no need to change... Capital we have already chose very good options as New Delhi Capital of India (its position is in Central of India is good) Mumbai is good Financial Capital! ( Due to its Coast vide location) Nagpur is a good Multi Agro-modern HUB! Banglore and Hyderabad are good IT HUB Capital of India (Due to its high-educated work force) and Pune is a Good Agro-service HUB! Chennai is a super good Exporter HUB of India!
New Delhi is in North India and not in Central India. Mumbai is called Financial capital for namesake only. It belongs to Maharashtra Government and all the revenue generated from it goes to Maharashtra first.

After watching the complete video, inspite of shifting our capital we need to improve and make some strong plans to lessen the overall burden of "New Delhi". If we relocate our capital then definitely it is gonna cost so much and time consumption for developing a new capital city is not so easy. Judicial Capital should be in eastern India (kolkata/Bhubaneswar/Guwahati/ Patna) so that there can be better access to east asian countries which are very developed. And integration of northeast into India is indeed a very big challenge since independence I termed judicial capital as financially western India is much more well off than eastern India ,so changing that will be extremely tiresome . Legislative capital i.e. new delhi has already built a central vista ,so that investment will be lost Better build supreme court and military headquarters in East/northeast india

This is a very good question that you have raised. Not just national capital, many state capitals should also be moved from the cities which have become overcrowded and too large/ populous. (examples- Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Dehradun). I believe Maharashtra's capital should be moved to Ahmednagar or Aurangabad (a very central location) or a new city near Pune. I think headquarters of most of PSUs and nationalised banks should also be moved out of Mumbai. That would also release some pressure on Mumbai. Mumbai has two zonal HQs of Indian Railways- which can be easily moved to Surat and Pune. The capital of WB, TN, KA, UK should be moved to Durgapur, Trichy, Davanagere, and Roorkee from Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Dehradun respectively. We should adopt American policy of basing capitals in small cities. For example- the capital of New York state is not New York City. It is Albany. Similarly, the capital of California is not Los Angeles, San Fransico or San Jose. It is Sacramento. None of the big American cities is a capital of any entity.
I think we should start with moving provincial capitals to smaller cities, then 25-30 years later, with lessons learnt from moving provincial capitals we can move the national capital as well. After all, it won’t make political sense to abandon to desert newly built parliament and central vista so soon. As far as pollution is concerned, it will come down because soon (in 10 years or so) world will start moving towards electric vehicles and that will bring down air pollution in big cities drastically.

If the capital is shifted, the same problems will appear there. That's because the crowds will go to the new place. Delhi at least has a good infrastructure with all kinds of housing. Even the poor can find some place here. I think those who want to shift the capital to a new place are trying to exclude the common people from the rulers. That undemocratic and against the spirit of India. Let Delhi be as it is. It's not perfect but it's got its uniqueness.
South India is generating 30% industrial business revenue and also is quite central location to BIMARU states. Also, it is not so easy to be attacked by enemies even it is near to sea from both sides Arabian / Indian Ocean. Industry / people/ business can all sort of facility to grow and help in overall GDP growth. Sea / Rail / Land - is no doubt is better. To make development in all states equally, centre must have Hawk’s / Falcon eye from a geographically central location of the country - that is MUST.

If you wanna alternative of a capital city then the Hingna-Butibori developing agro-industrial area of Nagpur fulfills the criteria. Hyderabad and Bangalore are no longer a small meteropolis infact they have become a large megapolis. So turning them into a capital may make them like another Delhi. Thats right brother... to increase importance of Delhi, GoI established all kind of economic activities as well as facilities there. People from nearby state started migrating there from 60's. If they had implemented uniform diffusion of development and facilities across the north India region and restricted over-settlement of new population around Delhi by proper town planning, the Delhi must have been much better today.
If India shifts its capital from New Delhi to another city, then it is better for country. I think having this discussion is a stupid idea for now as the new parliament and new administrative blocks have been built or in the process of being built but however if there are plans of having a second capital in the future then it should be in the south and not any of the three main southern cities but a place like nagpur would be ideal looking at it's geographical location

This is a very good question that you have raised. Not just national capital, many state capitals should also be moved from the cities which have become overcrowded and too large/ populous. (examples- Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Dehradun).
I believe Maharashtra's capital should be moved to Ahmednagar or Aurangabad (a very central location) or a new city near Pune. I think headquarters of most of PSUs and nationalised banks should also be moved out of Mumbai. That would also release some pressure on Mumbai. Mumbai has two zonal HQs of Indian Railways- which can be easily moved to Surat and Pune. The capital of WB, TN, KA, UK should be moved to Durgapur, Trichy, Davanagere, and Roorkee from Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Dehradun respectively.
We should adopt American policy of basing capitals in small cities. For example- the capital of New York state is not New York City. It is Albany. Similarly, the capital of California is not Los Angeles, San Fransico or San Jose. It is Sacramento. None of the big American cities is a capital of any entity.

I think we should start with moving provincial capitals to smaller cities, then 25-30 years later, with lessons learnt from moving provincial capitals we can move the national capital as well. After all, it won’t make political sense to abandon to desert newly built parliament and central vista so soon. As far as pollution is concerned, it will come down because soon (in 10 years or so) world will start moving towards electric vehicles and that will bring down air pollution in big cities drastically.

Also, it is not so easy to be attacked by enemies even it is near to sea from both sides Arabian / Indian Ocean. Industry / people/ business can all sort of facility to grow and help in overall GDP growth. Sea / Rail / Land - is no doubt is better. To make development in all states equally, centre must have Hawk’s / Falcon eye from a geographically central location of the country - that is MUST.
