The Guards look stunning in their red coats they certainly brighten the day for you
John I wonder if the Guard has done this deliberately to do his little march if so I think its funny and the tourists are taking it very well, lol
So wonderful to see the female captain, she's done so well to get up a quite male dominated ladder.
They all look stunning
I must say how polite the crowd is!
Yes thank goodness the nco fixed that poor guards cloak. I love the lady captain she has 1 hell of a voice. Good for her
Than, goodness the guard-in-charge fixed the fellow;s coat before the inspection....that was close....I wish I had "live" TV as I was desperate for to do this myself. He obviously had just gotten off a horse and forgotten to untuck his coat. If it had not been done this poor guard would have been fined and perhaps suspended.
Wow just for having his coat tucked. Pretty harsh penalty. Cheers from Victoria Australia 🇦🇺🐨👍🏻
Its all about respect, discipline and preparedness.@@lynnebunning7273
It just wasn't that ladies day😂 The inspection was fantastic. I love the sharp Captain and smart winter cloaks. Thank you for this.
Wonderful footage and really great commentary. Thanks very much, really enjoy this.❤
A thorough and perfect inspection of the captain, the discipline of the Royal Guard is most admirable.
That was blooming Marvellous the Guards looked so smart in their winter coats glad the NCO sorted the Guards coat out before the Captain checked him over. Enjoyed this video like many others of yours. Thank you for your service Godbless you all ❤️❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧
Huge respect to all our current and serving officers/soldiers/guards and horses
But to see a female Captain, bigger huge respect 👏👏👏👏👏❤️
As Always absolutely brilliant informative video .
Thank you.
Great video as always, love to hear your narration
That was absolutely the best inspection I’ve ever seen very well done.
Loved that inspection. The Captain was superb.
The best videos!!
Thank You John that, as always, a very informative video. I love your videos when the Guards change over and which horses they've come on, they are beautiful horses. I'll look forward to seeing your next video. Thank you for sharing it with us.
He told us on a live chat the other night that his name is not John 😊
@@KathyJo. Someone has my spy duck abilities..not mentioning names. 😂😂
@@Spy.Duckie 😉
That lady is a hoot!😅😅😅
This is magnificent a great showing if the soldiers 😮
Very professional! She is quite the captain.
She sure has a powerful voice .The Captain ....
I "felt" a collective sigh of relief when that guards coat was fixed..everyone could breathe again. That woman had a great chat while waiting for the guard to return for the pic to her friend and is DETERMINED to get it! Gotta love how everyone is kept on their toes lol. Great way to end the day, John..thanks!
Well done one and all!
A little different to yesterday, except for the rain. All good winter is on its way and the weather is only going to get worse from here on out. Thanks John. Kiwi
Good day John im sure everyone will agree this young lady Captain is excellent really great leader
Best 4 o’clock parade yet.
Have i finally got you live wow
I worry their spurs might get caught in the hem of their coat.
Is there a height requirement for the Guards? They all seem to be very different sizes!
I understand they recently reduced their height requirements but I cannot remember what it was reduced to (possibly to accommodate female Guards?).
She needs to learn how to take photos! Amazing!
they look very smart in those cloacks and good afternoon
"...Surely not walked all the way from Hyde Park Barracks, not in those boots,"
Regular equestrian tall boots are anough of a pain to walk around in: there has to be enough space in back by the heel so we can keep our heels down while riding. That results in our own heels slopping up and down inside as we walk, which often causes us to get rubbed raw!
It was a great blessing when the bootmakers finally began making field boots (the ones which lace in front, and only came in brown for ages) in black, so hunter - jumper show riders could wear 'em, and much more comfortably walk in them.
Just a suggestion on boots rubbing heals raw, try taping sponge makeup pads to back foot. I use them with my ice skates.
@@joyceharland Brilliant solution! 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏
The grippy, stick-on thingies shoe stores and shoemakers have for inside the heel area can be helpful, but only when the area's easily accessed, and on more closely-fitting footwear.
I see that the Guards boots must be very uncomfortable, look nice, but I would not want to wear them.
My question is, how do they become captain? Do they get promoted from soldier to captain, or do they have their own military specialization until they become captain? Can someone tell me how?❤
The Captains are typically graduates of Sandhurst, though some were promoted through the ranks. 🙏🏻
13:11 Sensation! He's going back into the arch!!!! 😲
That lady needs to learn how to take a photo!!!
What a voice ... surprise, surprise ... expecting four tones higher.
How long does it take to train to be a lifeguard? Also a Captain? Another good video. Cheers Lynne from Victoria Australia 🇦🇺🐨💜
She’s a graduate of the military academy at Sandhurst.
@@grannygoes thanks for reply
Some of these are tourists are like, “stand still”, have to realise, these guards and horses are not there for selfies, they have a job, amd a very important job to do,
In the 80’s when I was at Horseguards we had no armed police present. We have to today because of the Muslim problem.
John, what is the purpose of the foot scooting when lined up 4 inspection
Could I,ask a favour ?Sometimes you chat to tourists ,could you ask why they think that the guards are funny ?P.S,love your work .
What happens if they fail inspection?
I think I remember seeing a defaulters inspection once am I right?
They have to spend a night in a London hotel with Karen. 👈🏼
@@LondonCityWalks lol 😂
@LondonCityWalks a fate worse than death for sure!
Nah, spend a night with Arnie, Ormonde & Wrangler!@@LondonCityWalks
Captain Liz, she will go much farther.
Is it being stood down at end of shift?
How long will the royals be on duty until the blues return?
The horseguards change daily unlike the footguards who now change every other day
Thank you! @@steveellis9065
This is normal, that the guard goes back under the arches, what the blues did was exceptional, and I've seen many 4 'o clock parades, when the gates are closed, they go straight inside. They have to remain there as long the gates are open. Hmmm now they do it different again?
Disrespectful laughing at the guard near the stables
She's a Captain. Or are her male colleagues "Mister Captains¨?
I thought at first sight that was Captain James Blount…….they share the same feminine look.
The captain is incorrectly dressed. Bad order. Should be in a cloak.
Maybe she has not gotten hers as yet!
Officer's Don't wear those scarlet coats.
Tks for info....I guess they would not be distinguished enough! Still, they must have winter gear too.@@sheilamorrell6329
They do when not wearing no 2 uniform dress..when in riding gear she would have a red cloak..
@@avryllsixtus3429 she is not in no 2 dress. You clearly have no idea.
