Great to see this lady captain exchanging words with the guards.
Captain making that all important connection with the troops. Acknowledging their service to God, people, the monarch, & country! Job well done!
I love it, so confident, so charismatic, I love this Captain ❤❤❤
She certainly did great job and for once crowd was silent ,could almost hear a pin drop
Absolutely 💯% professionals god save the king from across the pond
Charming. But I am sure that in a battle, she would fight.
Pagan located the camera at 7:22 🐴😁
The Life Guards are THE Senior Regiment in the British Army. Absolutely extraordinary turnout. No idea who the Lady Officer is.
It was amazing that not one person could be heard speaking. Absolutely silent.
Once they close those gates and closed the guard store, those inside the gate were there at the privilege of the King.
What is her name?
I'm from the USA and I would really like to know what all that meant. I've had military people in my family for as far back as the North and South war. I am very patriotic and I don't know why but my dad's mom and dad family came from England I was told. So have always felt like England is a part of me. I'm very proud of that fact.
It's the courtyard in front of the Horse Guards building & this is the 'Dismount Parade', also known as the 'Four O'Clock' or 'Punishment' parade. The mounted sentries are replaced by sentries on foot & the horses can go to bed!
In 1894, Queen Victoria visited Horse Guards & found the Guards drinking & gambling on duty. She ordered that every day at four o'clock, they had to be inspected by an Officer - for the 'next one hundred years'! She was NOT happy 😡
That period ended in 1994, but Queen Elizabeth 2 wanted the tradition to continue - but not as a punishment!
@TheCatBilbo. You mean she was "not amused"? 😊
