Not punishment parade, end of day Inspection of the Gaurd.
Because once the Queen Victoria visit them...and found they were playng cards...and drankard,...so she decided that they have to be inspected at the end of daily service....🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
Do you know what is the difference in the red & white on the helmets and when they wear different colour uniforms
Blue uniforms are the Blues and Royals.
Red uniforms are the Life Guards.
Both units were merged in to an umbrella unit of "The Household Cavalry" in recent times.
The plumes on their helmet signify again which unit they are in. Red is Blues and Royals, White is the Life Guards.
Thanks ❤
Yes there 2 units one house hold Calverley where white the blue and royals where red but but units are one now but different it go back few hundred years
How come they have red stings on their helmets? In all other Punishment Parades I saw, they had golden strings on their helmets.
Red plumes on the helmet and dark blue uniforms are Blues and Royals , white plumes and red uniforms are Lifeguards , they are the two regiments of The Household Cavalry the two most senior regiments in the British Army .
@@kathellison8084 Thank you!
Why is it called punishment parade.???
From Wiki - Visitors to the museum are welcome to watch the afternoon inspection of the guards and horses (punishment parade) that happens daily at 4 pm. This routine began in 1894 when Queen Victoria found the guards drinking and gambling in the afternoon instead of tending to their duty. She proclaimed that they would be punished by a four o'clock inspection daily for the next 100 years. This proclamation and punishment officially expired in 1994, but Queen Elizabeth II chose to continue the inspection out of respect for tradition.
It was queen victory came to the barracks on day all the troopers where out of uniform she issued an order the for 100y ears thay had to been on parade at 1600 each day in full kit the order was never changed and that why it called punishment parade part of British military history
