Yeah, I know... but there are a lot of things I should do but don't. I don't really worry about the paint since I use acrylics, but the primer is kind of a problem. What I really need to do is get a respirator. I can only imagine the damage I am doing to myself without one.
Well done on producing a great looking model kit of the ME-163. You did a really great ob on it and the finished model looks superb!! Keep up the great work and best of luck with your next build. Have fun my friend, Joe
Thanks for the kind words! The swastika's are kind of annoying me, so I went out and bought another kit. I think I'll build the next one as the trainer variant. Haven't decided if i'll make a video out of yet, though.
Hi my friend. Wow , what a cracking job on this kit !!! So small too, that's why I thought sod doing 1/72nd anymore and I've moved to 1/48 th lol. Plus I'm getting old before any cheeky whippa snappas say anything !!! Well done matey
Hice las calcomanías con la esvástica en este proyecto y las configuré mal. No mucho después de este proyecto, comencé a comprar hojas de las esvásticas.
Old vid I know. Decal conformation. I have this kit and decals. Haven't built it. Have you tried Tamiya Mark Fit. Made for Tamiya decals and notably more aggressive than Microscale Micro Sol. I have both but use Micro Sol most of the time too.
I have not but my LHS has it and Im going to pick some up this weekend. I've got decals to put on an Academy A10 and they look THICK and GLOSSY so something hot is going to be needed lol. I have been using solvaset and its better than microset but still not hot enough for most academy decals, some tamiya decals, and iffy on eduard.
A VERY NICE BUILD! Academys ME 163 is one of their best kits ,highly accurate with super detail! just look at the belly detail! one question ,looks like your swastikas came out backwards? try Academys Me 262A LOOKS LIKE BEST ONE OUT THERE!
yeah lol. I printed my own and accidentally reversed one. I have about a hundred in different scales professionally printed now so it won't be an issue in the future
I found the assembly a little lazy. could have applied better in the details and have spent more time in the finish before applying the paint. also I think you could have painted several pieces before mounting both the part of the tug as the small parts of the model before mounting... another constructive criticism: next time try to do the pre shading before painting the final painting ... this will give a much better effect.
The comit is my most disliked aircraft of world war2 it couldn't land with out blowing up. The only way to land was to use all of the fuel which since it was rocket fuel in 1944 it was costly
Close- I personally love the Comet- it was a death trap, but it also was really cool, and may have broken the wound barrier if it had had a little bit more time. Luckily, it wasn't hard to use up all the fuel- you only got like two or three minutes of flight time with them anyway, and most of that was the climb to altitude followed by a glide.
You shouldn't let your fingers get covered with paint or primer like that, because it contains a lot of nasty chemicals.

Tomcat Model Kits great job though !!!!!!!!
Nice one. Keep experimenting with techniques. Dry brushing is an excellent way to pop out details.
Thanks, and I will. I wan't to try hairspray chipping soon.
Fantastic work lad, looking forward to the next build
Excellent build video. Love the techniques you presented, like black basing. Great end result on the Komet. Well done.
You do a good job of hitting the points that are important to modelers.

Thanks! I'm going to be buying the same kit again, and this time I am going to be building the trainer variant!
Exept the upside down swastikas, you did a smart and very professionnal video. You have a new subscriber right now. Thank you for your work.

Really enjoyed watching this come together mate. Looking forward to more from your good self. Al
Thanks man!

Thanks! 1/72 is getting a bit small for me as well- nothing to do with age on my end, I'm just looking for a bit more detail.
Really nice work! Looking forward to the next one.
Good job on such a tiny subject.
BEST MINI MODEL AND GREAT JOB
The Academy kit looks much better in detail and ease of building than the Heller equivalent.
Loved watching you build this!
Thank you
Cool!
Another excellent video. Keep it up!
you did a great job at this one. You could use yellow to light up the green.
Thanks for the suggestion. Next time I'm working with the green I'll give that a shot.
Rubber gloves keeps your hands clean my friend xD, Great build by the way!!!
Very well done.
Excelente trabajo, mi duda es si las swasticas del timon vertical están orientadas al revés?
Hice las calcomanías con la esvástica en este proyecto y las configuré mal. No mucho después de este proyecto, comencé a comprar hojas de las esvásticas.
I enjoyed your video, very cool build
I think it was a response to Heller's Komet that also came with a tractor.
Quite possibly
I built the Heller kit back in the day. Indeed it also featured the towing system. This one is for sure better in terms of tooling.

I built the exact kit!
How’d yours turn out?
Great work!Only con is that you placed the one of the swastikas reversed. It's a bit detracting!
Yeah, I messed up when I printed them. No such mistakes now! I just bought a sheet of them lol.
Tja swastikas are wrongly placed I think, nevertheless a nicely done model.
You are correct- I printed my own, and got them swapped wrong- I’m thinking about redoing them- if I do, I’ll be sure to do a video about it
Hey, schon gesehen, das H-Kreuz ist Spiegelverkehrt! Oh Mann!
I recomend a vacuform model of me-163
I have been interested in trying vacuform.... we’ll see :)
Ok😉
You would think that academy would get the message that NO modelers like their decals, and have cartograph print them.
He, das H-Kreuz ist spiegelverkehrt. Geschnallt?
Ansonsten, saubere Arbeit! 👍

Thanks for the tips, but this video is a year+ old (if I remember correctly). I've implemented many of the changes you discuss already.
Dose nailes do

its pronounced deckals, not deekals...
Only if you are Canadian.
