Stan, if you read this, you really are an amazing dad. Just from what I saw in the videos. Other dads would have put their kid in day care, but you stayed home with him. I applaud you for that.
It’s so hard finding blogs/videos about the wife being in medicine. Majority of stuff out there is “being the wife of a doctor.” Thanks for sharing your advice!!
I think people in relationships often don’t realize how much time and energy their s/o will have to put into medicine. This is a great heads up for couples!
This is great! I love how supportive Stan is! Also I've heard that reading / thinking you know what your love language is can put pressure on a relationship, like Stan was saying, because then the other person is constantly seeking you to know/ demonstrate that you know their love language. So I completely agree with Stan, just let the love flow!
I love how supportive Stan is! I'm also a 3rd year medstudent and I know how hard it is for my boyfriend who I live with that I don't have a lot of time for him. But he's similar to your husband, very understanding and very supportive and I think this is the most important for good relationship
You are SOO lucky to have Stan. Love the video. Your husband is such a GREAT guy. You are honestly a really great couple. And also, when is the next Stan video? He's setting the bar rather high.
Oh my gosh....the way you guys literally don't try to make your relationship not made up or fake is so good! You two quarreled so genuinely in the entire video! Sweet
Thanks for the advice Stan! I really needed to hear it and seeing you and Jenny together helps motivate me and remind myself to stay strong. I’m in your past situation right now where I’m dating a med student long distance and visiting each other, talking on the phone keeps us feeling close.
I loved watching this because I plan on starting med school after I finish college soon then residency . I was so skeptical about everything especially since I'm already married . I talked to my husband plenty times about my ideas and dreams & he was supportive , especially with him being in the military I'm always behind him . You really shed a lot of light from seeing your husbands perspective also & how to maintain .
I had this video on as I was going through Netter’s and I love the advice you guys gave! It’s a struggle finding quality time to spend with your S/O, especially when one has more free time than another. Even though it’s currently a long weekend and my S/O’s masters program only just started, I can’t always accompany her and that’s disappointing. There’s also being long-distance where you know this time is limited and you have to travel back to school after. So I definitely applaud Stan for being so patient and to both of you for making it so far already. There’s a lot to learn from you guys and I’m definitely showing my S/O this. Also, I agree with Stan on the love-languages thing. I said the same things to my S/O 😅
Also agree with your comments on bringing a child into a relationship. Indeed they do make things more challenging. I think you really have to be solid before introducing little people because they will try & test your relationship in so many ways.
Thanks for brining Stan on. He seems like a sweetheart. Its amazing to have a supportive loved one when you're undertaking something like residency. Wyatt looks just like Stan. I like how Stan answered the question about handling your success and such. Indeed I think each person brings something amazing to the table. Wyatt is such a ham. Love your family, you guys are so sweet.
I’m in PA school. I have been with my bf for 5 years. I live 5 your drive away so I can’t see him much. Especially because his car is falling about so he can’t drive here. I moved down here May 17th. Didn’t see him again until July 13th for my white coat ceremony and next time was the end of the semester like August 10th. Came back last Sunday so the 26th I think and I won’t be able to go back until the day before thanksgiving. But we are doing it. He knows I love him and he trusts me and I trusts him. We both don’t have any money so that’s a thing.
i love his laugh! and this video is so timely. my partner and i are working through some intimacy issues brought on by my stress and its hard to explain to him that it sucks but i don't know how to fix it. so i'm letting this play in the background while we're stewing at each other and hopefully it'll get through to him lol
thanks jenny, i appreciate it. and low and behold, we made up thanks to this video lol. i told him that i'm sorry that i'm not able to fully explain what's going wrong and i don't know how to fix it as long as i'm in school, and he said that he's sorry he's not more patient. STAN IS A PARTNER WHISPERER YALL. but i also have to learn to not just cop out of every stress and just blame it on school, i'm capable of fixing some things when i can.
Glad ur watching! Yeah med school/life will put pressure and test all relationships. I’m a advocate of patience and my wife preaches open communication. Which I wasn’t the best at but getting better. Don’t fight over things u can’t control. I almost get upset when she works 16hrs but how could I possibly blame her for that.
Much love Jen, love your videos!! They have been helpful in educating about the realities of being a physician, wife, and mother. Look forward to seeing more content!
This is the first time I'm commenting your video just cause u said stan would sneak through these comments 😉😅😅. Jenny you have such a loving family, especially stan who understands you and that is something everyone lack . Ah and your lil beautiful baby he is just soo lucky that he has the best parents .
Lovely video... we all admire you Stan. You are everything a partner could ask for. And ofc you are an amazing dad as we see... Thank you for answering my question. Yay! My question was awarded the best question 😊😊 Love your family. #goals
Hi! Big fan here❤️ I’m currently in medical app cycle and I’m afraid because of the distance and time apart with my boyfriend. We see a future with each other but waiting 4 years and another 3 years of residency is too long for both him and I. I’m afraid he won’t move to where I am placed for residency 😔 Any advice ?
Good day to you Stan and Jenny, how are you doing on this very nice and calm day? Thank you both for taking the time and effort to create this excellent educational video, thank you. Stan you are one cool dude, I like you bro, fist bump ; ) I love your channel Jenny and I salute all the very hard work you are doing to becoming a doctor, way to go my wise and gifted sister. I appreciate you. Stan, be at peace where you are, you are not in a competition. We are here to help each other. Future book reading suggestion, The Power of Now. Until next week, be at peace my friends : )
I really want to work in the medical field and its a dream of mine but I also really want to have a happy married life in the future. Happy married life as in going on dates often and just really working well in the relationship. And I am not saying at all that you cant be a doctor and be happy in a relationship, I am just saying it'll be hard to spend time with your partner. Now I feel like I have to give up one . 2 of my biggest dreams. Although I'm still quite young I just wanted to map out my future. Now I think I might have to choose a different career path. It's honestly so hard to find a man like Stan. Loved the video tho ❤️
Jenny, I have a question for you that I really would appreciate if you could answer. How did you manage to be a Medical student with so much going on in your life? Like you were in love, had a baby, you mentioned you were feeling lonely ( I felt the same too thank you for normalizing it for me) , and did step 1 and step 2 all at the same time. Any advice on how you did all that?
I like to set goals for myself. Take everything a step at a time. If I thought about everything I needed to do, I’d probably have an anxiety attack on a daily basis.
My husband is a first year medical student and I am a stay at home mom, we have to little girls (1yro and 4yro). I asked my husband for 7hrs a week to work out or run some errands and he said that he couldn't guarantee anything. I should mention that I also take two graduate courses online. I understand that he is busy but is medical school really this busy? I am barely keeping up with my courses and am always doing households chores too (I do about 90% of the housework). I've tried communicating this to him but he says that he is too busy. How do you and Stan manage it all?
@@C3yl0 I was not comparing my Master's program to his medical school program. I guess you could say I was comparing our "free time." I understand that his workload is heavier but I do think he could pull some weight around the house.
I think it depends on where he is studying . Some places make it much easy for students while others add unnecessary pressure. Also it depends on his personality. I know some people who think too much of themselves and look at chores as something beneath them. Then there are people who get bogged down by their responsibilities and have no strength for anything else.
God bless your marriage and family; you both are too cute. Stan is an amazing and supportive husband and father to me that equal success. I love the way you guys balance your careers and family. Best wishes

My biggest challenge as a wife of a senior resident is to see him always exhausted physically and mentally. I have to stay strong for him. ☺️
