Taking 27 credits this semester on top of 40 hours a week student teaching + having to work part-time 20+ hours. You’re my inspiration this semester. Hope I can make it through
How do you keep yourself energized? 2. How do you manage work life, marriage life , mom life all under control? I only work 8 hour shift and im existed im married no kids and im struggling trying to balance everything.
1. Coffee. And sometimes 10-15 minute cat naps. 2. I don’t always have everything under control and I’m ok with that. 3. I try to carve out time where Stan and I can just talk without our phones, computer, or TV. Best when Wyatt is asleep lol
Amazingbeauty Sweetheart get into trading stocks/forex and get out of the 9-5 rat race. Look into it you just need a laptop and internet but you have to know what you're doing though. I do it for a living and best of it all is i'm doing it online. Earns me a good income monthly. 12k per month.
Oh my Gosh, I could not live like this, life is too short & my free time & family time (& sleep) is too precious to me! My mental health would be destroyed. But if this lifestyle makes you happy then that's all that matters ❤️ you're amazing, seriously!
I absolutely love the fact that despite your insanely busy schedule, you still find the time to post! It’s so uplifting to watch to your videos ❤️ love you and this channel so much!!
Jenny, this is one of my favorite videos so far. I feel the fatigue with you and appreciate the reality. May the One who opens your eyes each morning fill your family with the deep rest that anchors you in Joy through all. Many thanks for sharing
First, I want to say thank you for showing what your house really looks like. My toddler is also a tornado; cleaning up after him is most of the time completely fruitless unless its the end of the day. I love what you said about medicine being a privilege (especially when delivering a baby and delivering bad news.) I feel really inspired to keep studying. Thank you!
I think you do a amazing job being a mother, wife and doctor. I really should give them drinks a try. I have major stomach problems so maybe that will help.
Wyatt is so cute!! You are seriously superwoman. How you are able to wake up and have such positive attitude after working such long hours is beyond me!😅you are such an inspiration!
Awe, so sweet to see Wyatt..how is he enduring school? It's so good for you guys! Hey, this 66 year old is going to try your workout (add it to my own!!) and try the chagu and lionsmane! I've been stretching, working out since 7th grade and won't stop ever!! Thank you SO much for showing us your day. You are an amazing mother, wife and doctor!! Love ya!! Jeanie xxoo
He’s not adjusting as fast was we thought. Wyatt has always been a difficult eater. I would always be really persistent with him. I feel like since starting daycare, he hasn’t eaten much at all during the day just because it’s hard to spend dedicated time with one kid when it’s a 7:1 ratio. So now he’s up all night hungry. This is coming from a guy who was sleep through the night since 5 months. So long story short, I’m stressed about it lol
oh, Jenny, he'll be okay....he knows he is loved...he has good teachers, and he's making some friends....I'm sure he will adjust....nothing is ever easy, right? I'll say my prayers for you all....xxoo
Jenny Le praying for you all and little Wyatt ❤️ don't give up on it in a few more weeks everything can be better! It'll all work out don't worry :) you're a supermom!! Also, my mom runs an in home daycare and only has 6 kids she watches. All the kids feel like family to us! Not saying you should do this with Wyatt because he is perfectly fine at the daycare he is in. Just wanted to give you the idea in case you ever want another option 😊
Jenny Le hahaha I know!!! We only do like 60/ week at my stage. I think it changes when I start specialising. It’s probably why it take 10-14 years to specialise haha
It's temporary 3 years or so then you'll be able to work normal hours. My doc worked 2-3 days a week before she retired last year. She had 3 or 4 boys and her husband was a doc too. I don't know how u do it. Good for u.
Helpful tips- thanks! I usually wake up sleepy when I don’t get enough sleep. Do you naturally have energy in the morning even with less sleep, or is that where coffee helps?
Wow, you are so lucky! I wish I had the balance you do. I just finished 26 hrs straight, and I'm dead. I only wish I had time to study at work or go to the gym, or even get to come home for an hour. There are a lot of days I regret being a doctor.. but its too late now.
I'm a med student from Hong Kong and my day starts from 9:30am and lasts until 5:30pm (I do have a few hours break). I don't get home until 7pm or later, meaning I stay up late to study - maybe 1 or 2am. I still get roughly 7 hours sleep since my classes start a bit later, but was wondering if you wake up at 4:30, generally what time do you sleep? To boost energy/break fatigue, do you think it helps more to get those 8 hours or be consistent in your early wake up time? Thanks for the tips!
So motivating Jenny! But I wonder it you went to sleep at 12 that night, are you going to get zp at 4:30 again? How do you manage to function on just 4-5 hours of sleep?
I actually woke up at 5 AM the next day because I’m still obligated to come into work at 6 AM. I average 6 hours of sleep a night. On weekends I’ll try to sleep in ... if Wyatt lets me lol
Not transitioning as fast as we’d hope. He’s not eating there during the day so he’s up most of the night now. Plus he was walking around with 1 shoe like half the day and came home with blisters on one of his foot ... as you can tell I’m still not taking it as well lol
Awesome video and motivation! I'd like to know if once you are over with residency your work hours will still be 80 hrs? Or once you are a Family Medicine specialist work hours are different?
Hy jenny! Hope you’re doing well Please can you do a video explaining how involved interns are when it comes to patient care, to what extent, are they always the first person to see the patient when they come into the hospital, are they the ones to do the diagnosis, do they always make decisions on their own ,do they always have to know the tests to order etc thanks
As an intern, you are officially a doctor. So yes, you see the patient, come up with a diagnosis and treatment plan on your own. There’s always an attending behind you checking your work but you are the first to do everything. That’s why going from being a med student to becoming a resident can be both very exciting and terrifying.
Not as well as we’ve hoped. He’s not eating at daycare so he’s up all through the night. And this is coming from a kid who use sleep 10-12 hours a night since 5 months
Wondering how does it work clocking in and out?? Are you allowed to take breaks when you want (given your patients are stable) ?? Are you required to work 17 hours a day or it was just because your patients were laboring??
I only worked that long because my patients were laboring. But during inpatient you’re required to be on because you don’t know when a patient will crash or when I new patient will come in.
As a family doctor, you see everything. Babies, pregnant moms, old people. As a family doctor you can also do vaginal deliveries. And what better way to learn than from the specialist
Mushroom coffee is a new one to me. Chaga I think was mentioned on this survival show called Alone and she was getting Chaga off of birch trees in Mongolia, China. Just thought I'd throw that random fact out there.
I cant imagine leaving my kids for 80hrs a week. Who watches your baby? Do you get emotional and ever miss him while you are working? Do you ever feel like you are missing his baby years? (Something that never comes back) What is your thought process there? Would you still choose to become a doctor now that you know what you know about the hours and family life? Your baby is adorable and you are very hard working. Dont forget to include self care in the equation.
Yes I think about that all the time. I get really sad when I look at Wyatt and see how fast he’s grown. Luckily Stan was able to stay home and watch Wyatt but as of recently he went back to work and Wyatt is now at daycare. I work these hours now so I can provide Wyatt with the best life. He won’t remember these early years. Every time I’m home, Wyatt shows me so much love. It confirms I’m doing the right thing.
I personally feel that it is better to take a short break to get back into the right head space. Because you can end up sitting there trying to study for hours and not get anything done. Might as well spent that time so rest, cook something, gym, or just talk to someone.
and what do you do when you can't get back to study modus? bc I try for days but can't get back in the study-mode :( and that causes me to stress out more and more
Jenny Le Oh, im not criticizing you personally, but rather the system that encourages this. A couple of months ago Joe Rogan had neuroscientist Mathew Walker on, he's a sleep expert. Anyways, they spent part of the podcast discussing medical professional, and how after all that we now know about the importance of being well rested, it's crazy that this kind of stuff still goes on. I know your video is about working long hours, but the two kind of go hand in hand. It was a really interesting podcast. It's on RUclips if you're interested.
Can you do a video on your views of why or why not you vaccinate your son. I know it's a very controversial topic but as a new mom I'm not trusting big pharma. I've done some of my own research but from a mother to a mother I like to hear other people's reasonings. Btw I love your vlogs. I don't know how you are surviving residency while parenting. I give you all the praise. I was trying to get into PA school but my son is only 4 months old so I'm pushing it off a year so I can give him my undivided attention. ❤️❤️❤️
New here, does your husband also work as a doctor/have long hours? I hope it isn't just you're responsibility to do the 'mom' things like clean :o Also, do you have mental health care? Like do you have check-ups for how you're doing, especially after having to give bad news? :(
cheesecake1monster Her husband works in real estate as a realtor. He was working part time and was playing more of the "stay-at-home dad" role with their son, but he just recently decided to go bank to work with more of a full time schedule. A few vlogs back they talked about everything, as well as talking about Wyatt starting daycare. From what I've seen in the vlogs, it's seems like Jenny and her husband have a wonderful relationship and it seems like they both share household duties. 😊
Exactly what Brittany said. Stan actually does most of the household stuff because he gets off work before I do usually. Has for mental health, we have preceptors that are also our advisors. We can come to them and talk about anything that bothers us. The open door policy is very much appreciated.
Taking 27 credits this semester on top of 40 hours a week student teaching + having to work part-time 20+ hours. You’re my inspiration this semester. Hope I can make it through
😱 that’s insane! The most I’ve ever taken was 24. Good luck!! You go this
How do you keep yourself energized? 2. How do you manage work life, marriage life , mom life all under control? I only work 8 hour shift and im existed im married no kids and im struggling trying to balance everything.

You’re my inspiration Jenny !! You’re one of the biggest reasons why I’m going into med school. I won’t start until Im 28 I hope that’s not too old.
HelloEla1 the median age is 24. More and more students are taking gap years before going to med school. You’ll be fine. Live
I agree. My class had a of people who medicine was their second career. Two people out of 135 were 24. Everyone was older
Thank you both soo much for the support
no problem future med student as well we have to support each other :)
Oh my Gosh, I could not live like this, life is too short & my free time & family time (& sleep) is too precious to me! My mental health would be destroyed. But if this lifestyle makes you happy then that's all that matters ❤️ you're amazing, seriously!
I agree I can’t live it way forever. Residency is very demanding but it’s only three years. So there’s light at the end of the tunnel.
I absolutely love the fact that despite your insanely busy schedule, you still find the time to post! It’s so uplifting to watch to your videos ❤️ love you and this channel so much!!
You all motivate me! TYSM for watching ❤️
Wyatt has rhythm 🕺🏼🕺🏼

Everyone talks about probiotics but we all forget about protecting the gut lining!
Baby Wyatt 😍😍😍😍, he’s growing so fast!!!
I know right!!! I’m not ready
I’m only a sophomore in high school, but I would love to be a pediatrician when I get older. I love your videos
Your like my favorite youtuber. Literally I’m in love with the way you manage things. 😘
❤️❤️❤️ TYSM
Wyatt is so cute!! You are seriously superwoman. How you are able to wake up and have such positive attitude after working such long hours is beyond me!😅you are such an inspiration!
The hours are going to be long no matter what mood you have. The days go fast when you’re happy 😊
They are soo inspiring and helpful, my dream is to become a hospitalist physician when I get older. And you’re videos help me so much.
Awe, so sweet to see Wyatt..how is he enduring school? It's so good for you guys! Hey, this 66 year old is going to try your workout (add it to my own!!) and try the chagu and lionsmane! We have thought about doing that too! If he continues to walk around with one shoe on and comes home with blister we might explore that option.
17hr days are something else. Im desd after a 13hr day which is my longest oncall atm!!!
😱😱😱 13 hours is like a regular day for us ...
Jenny Le hahaha I know!!! We only do like 60/ week at my stage. I think it changes when I start specialising. It’s probably why it take 10-14 years to specialise haha

10-14 years after residency? Or med school?
Jenny Le from graduating till consultant (attending)
the very end has my heart melting
Me everyday 😍
Wyatt's dancing skills finally put to test,♥️ Your vlogs give me hope
So cool that you delivered a baby!!
I delivered 3 that day! 👶🏻👶🏻👶🏻
Wyatt's little dance, so cute!
Loves that he dances 🕺🏻
I so love watching cute Wyatt dancing 😘😘
Me too!! I’ve saved a lot of his dance sessions on insta highlights!
Jenny Le wow....gonna watch all Wyatt's videos now 😍😍💕
That clip at the end omg I’m dying!!!!
It's temporary 3 years or so then you'll be able to work normal hours. My doc worked 2-3 days a week before she retired last year. She had 3 or 4 boys and her husband was a doc too. I don't know how u do it. Good for u.

Jamie then you uploaded a video! Great way to start the day!! You’re so motivational, have a blessed day!
TYSM ❤️
Thank you for showing real home life instead of “social media “ home life!
My home is social media ready like 1% of the time 😅
I'm proud of you jenny!! :)
You are my role model. You are doing just fine. Keep it up!
God bless you love! ❤️

you're literally sooo amazinggggggg and inspirational
Your baby is so cute love his dancing at the end
Lol, Wyatt was serious about that dancing.

I think it’s important to have adequate sleep. My body just wakes itself up at the same time every morning. I like the consistency
I 💕 your vlogs! Wyatt is such an adorable baby.
TYSM! I think he’s a cute most of the time, the rest of the times he’s a monster 😈
Great video as always! Thanks for all the helpful info you provide. ☺️
I learn from you all more than you can possibly image ❤️
So motivating Jenny! But I wonder it you went to sleep at 12 that night, are you going to get zp at 4:30 again? How do you manage to function on just 4-5 hours of sleep?

Jenny Le oh no 😣. That is so hard both on you and him (and Stan). Hang in there! I hope it gets easier soon. The food strike is hardcore 😳
I’m sure it will. I just need to sleep a little more to keep my sanity lol
Jenny Le I feel you there!
Awesome video and motivation! I'd like to know if once you are over with residency your work hours will still be 80 hrs?

Thank you Jenny for taking the time to make these videos with your busy life!! also Wyatt is gettin down at the end lol 😂
He is a good dancer
I taught him everything he know. 💃🏻🕺🏻
Cheers for the post-workout tip with Matcha protein shake
Wyatt is just too adorable 😍
How is Wyatt doing in school/daycare?
Not as well as we’ve hoped. He’s not eating at daycare so he’s up all through the night. And this is coming from a kid who use sleep 10-12 hours a night since 5 months
what a handsome boy Wyatt is!! thanks for sharing your day with us :)
You are amazing! I love your channel.
You guys have a gym at the hospital? Is that common in all hospitals? Love you Jenny
Yes very common! It’s where patients have their physical therapy lol
Can you buy that coffee in a grocery store? I am curious to try some.
How does residency work? If you are a family doctor why do you have to do other rotations?. I want to be a doctor that's why I am asking.
As a family doctor, you see everything. Babies, pregnant moms, old people. As a family doctor you can also do vaginal deliveries. And what better way to learn than from the specialist
2nd! Yay new video!
Thank you for continuing to post videos and inspiring people to medicine! :)
you are so inspiring!!
Can you do a video on your experience with having to deliver bad news to patients and their families?
Wyatt is the best little dancer!!
He’s a natural. I want to put him into dance classes when he’s a little older
Hard work good money . Benifits high pay but worth it.
Mushroom coffee is a new one to me.
Chaga I think was mentioned on this survival show called Alone and she was getting Chaga off of birch trees in Mongolia, China. Just thought I'd throw that random fact out there.
The coffee is still from coffee beans, just with added mushroom extract
Motivation, right here 🙏
Wyatt!!! Lol. Does the mushroom coffee taste like actual coffee?
Yes! It’s actually real coffee bean with mushroom elixir added
Ur my inspiration ❤️
I don't know what is the regulation for a doctor, but when I was in Australia I have only been given a maximum 8 hours work per day
How’s Wyatt doing in day care now?
Still not eating much so he’s up multiple times at night because he’s hungry. AND he’s been throwing the worst temper tantrums 😪
The baby 👶 dancing ❤️❤️
I wanna be a doctor one day lol but I’m 12 but I’ll try my best you inspire me !
Baby Wyatt dancing to shakira 😂💓😂💓
U guys have a gym in your hospital?
OML STRIVETOFIT TWIN!!!! OR MAYBE IM JUST BLIND BECAUSE IM NOT WEARING GLASSES WHEN I CLICKED ON THIS VIDEO
Not sure if this was an advice video or a coffee ad
If nobody tells you this, you are appreciated ❤
❤️❤️❤️
You should put back round music in your videos
Baby Wyatt shaking his diaper 😹😹😹😹❤️❤️❤️❤️
Super momma! 💛💛💛💛
Very inspiring...😀
Hello Jenny I just subscribed to ur channel 👍🏾
love
LEGEND ! and beauty. In one👏🔥
I cant imagine leaving my kids for 80hrs a week. Who watches your baby? Do you get emotional and ever miss him while you are working?
Do you ever feel like you are missing his baby years? (Something that never comes back)
What is your thought process there? Would you still choose to become a doctor now that you know what you know about the hours and family life?
Your baby is adorable and you are very hard working. Dont forget to include self care in the equation.

What time do you sleep if you get up at 430am??
Most of the time 10-11 PM
you
17 hours is a long time!
Agreed 😴
videos
This is such a random question lol but can doctors have manicures (polish, short acrylics)? Haha love your channel!
Yes you can. There’s obviously certain specialties where you can’t like surgery.
How much micromangment do middle mangment impose on physicians?
You are a badass! you go girl!😘 #Youareaninspiration👊🏼
Wyatt is such a cutie 😍!
what do you do when you feel burnt out?
Talk to someone. Take a break. Do something fun. Eat sushi. (Can be done all at the same time!)
hahah sounds great, but what when you have to study for an upcoming exam but you just can't ?
I personally feel that it is better to take a short break to get back into the right head space. Because you can end up sitting there trying to study for hours and not get anything done. Might as well spent that time so rest, cook something, gym, or just talk to someone.

Maybe you should talk to a friend or counselor
I do 12-13's now..can't imagine 17 hours lol. How often do you get 17 hour days?
Depends on the rotation. I felt like I was doing it a lot during OB because I didn’t want to just leave when one of my moms were in labor.
So someone who has our lives in their hands is way overworked and exhausted?....awesome!
It’s almost every doctor lol
Jenny Le
Oh, im not criticizing you personally, but rather the system that encourages this.

💜
How did you stop wyatt from breastfeeding
I still nurse him at night but I’m no longer pumping.
Jenny Le have you or any of your female patients experienced immediate drowsiness while breastfeeding? I also only nurse at night only.
I use to breastfeed half asleep all the time when Wyatt woke up in he middle of the night.
is that fitbit
Yes!
how do you survive off of 5 hours of sleep?! i wish i could do that haha
Your body generally adapt. Plus I take 10-15 minute cat naps when I can. sleep in on the weekends.
and
"Pump" what does this mean??
Jorge breast pump for her baby, i guess
Yes - pump breast milk
Ugh I'm so dumb & basic...... sorry for asking.....
Omg your baby can totally dance and twerk 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I like your necklace. Does it hold your wedding rings?
Yes! Lol I wear my rings in necklace during surgeries
Can you do a video on your views of why or why not you vaccinate your son. I know it's a very controversial topic but as a new mom I'm not trusting big pharma.
