It's just a shame that it doesn't play the movies from my network hard drive, otherwise that thing would be the ONLY thing I need in my house... Unless there is a way?
Hi Ron! I bought a Tivo Roamio Plus after I watched your video, but I am not sure that it is set up correctly with my surroundsound system! The HDMI cable is connected from Tivo to the TV direct. The Audio Optic cable is connected from Tivo to the Rotel Surroundsound receiver directly! The Tivo audio sound setting is set at Dolby Audio! I am not sure if all the settings are correct? The reason I say that, is because I have not heard any sound from the rear speakers since I installed the Tivo DVR! The Tivo Gurus have not been much help on this! Can you help! Thank you! Nick
Late response but the reason you're not getting sound to the rear speakers is because most TVs dont pass 5.1 through their optical out with any HDMI devices. Easiest solution would be to hook up the TiVo directly to the receiver.
Here is the fine print, "You must pay $15.00 a month" to get full function of this Tivo Roamio OTA. So, its not really "Cord Cutting" as you still have to pay monthly fees to watch TV channels that you can watch for free.
U sold me on it and I called tivo and they told me I can buy one off ebay just call them back with the serial number before I buy it and they can tell me if it has a lifetime service and when the last time it was active i got the one u wad show and I love it
Yes, most is good, other than what was not mentioned is, as long as the show is not copywritten, you can download it to your tablet. BUT, a good majority of the shows are copywritten. Slingbox hooked up to your tivo works great and doesn't prevent those shows from being sent to your tablet. Go figure :)

pretty sure it depends on how old your tivo is. I have a tivo premiere s4 and if I hook them up to the same LAN I should be able to transfer to my roamio
+Elijah Amirianfar Are you joking? I think the whole purpose of this Tivo Roamio OTA (Over The Air) is get away from cable, hence "Over the Air". You have to use a digital antenna, indoor or outdoor to get tv channels. Google "Cord Cutting".
No OTA hookup on the plus.

Just bought the Roamio and use it with a Walltenna indoor HDTV antenna and it works great. Great value.
