This woman doesn't need to growl, screech or scream. She has a beautiful very metal voice. She is the reason I started listening to Lacuna Coil in the first place.
Christina is really special, and is the "icing on the cake" of this great band. Number 4 all time favorite female singer in my list. She's in good company of the likes of Blondie, Stevie Nicks, and Annie Lennox. Good company Indeed ! (and Lena Scissorhands too. She is rapidly rising in my book and is also a very special talented metal singer!)
Sounds like some of the Metalcore stuff from the mid-2000s, when it was actually good :D. They both nailed their roles in this song, and Andrea's vocals really help to showcase how beautiful and powerful Christina's singing is.

The intensity is built throughout the song and then you hit that awesome bridge and you get the chills... then they smoothly transition into the chorus and then the final breakdown.... OMFG so good! Top 3 Lacuna Coil songs for sure... (been a fan since 2001). I love blasting this in my car with my daughter (3)... She loves Lacuna Coil. She always puts her horns up on this one. Well almost all of them are awesome ! My favorite songs from Lacuna Coil are "House of Shame", "Upside Down", "Our Truth" and most of the Delirium album !
It just depends on what kind of song you like, because LC has very different genres over the years. They began as "gothic metal" with "senzafine", "falling", "purify", "heaven's a lie", "swamped". It was my favourite age. Now they're confuse haha and the songs sounds like "metal alternative" or something. If you like "blood, tears and dust", try "ghost in the mist" (the best song of Delirium, in my opinion) "delirium", "take me home", "the house of shame", "ultima ratio" or even "nothing stands in our way".

I stopped listening to Lacuna Coil for probably the last 5 yrs or so, but they were actually one of my most visited concerts. Seen them like 5-6 times throughout California and Las Vegas. Excited to see they're coming back in September so wanted to find what kind of music they've been creating lately. Very pleasantly surprised they got harder as last I left them they were getting way too mainstream, poppy sounding and it turned me off from them since i fell in love w/them for their earlier more metal and ethereal sounds.. Can't wait to see them again! Gonna get my headbanging on!
I love how after comalies, lacuna went through American producers and Americanized their sound a bit, from karmacode onward...yet where most european bands would be doomed when switching to a more Americanized sound, lacuna coil proved just how good they really are at adapting to change...its too bad other once great bands couldn't do the same (in flames***) Comalies will be forever their best triumph in my opinion, and I think of that era of sound when I think of LC...but respect for them proving they can stay strong with American influence now.
I see here that they actually went more back to their roots or at least got harder here instead of sticking to that crappy poppy sounding simple lyric crap they were producing for a few years then that didn't sound anything at all like their earlier stuff. I'd say they learned from those mistakes and went back to being more authentic here probably cuz they lost many fans like me over the years.
Delirium is Lacuna Coils best album to date. It is the perfect blend of heaviness, mixed with beautiful melodies, and haunting choruses like this one. This song is incredible.

This is my all time favourite Band after I stumbled unto Unleashed Memories. I love the singers both of them. The whole band is great too. The first albums till Comalies were amazing the middle ones a bit less good and the last 2 again amazing. The Eps are great too. One of my favourite songs are: When a dead man walks and 1.19 but really many songs are great. This album were unexpected but its easily on the same level as unleashed memories that will always be my favourite because it was the first. I wish they would sing more songs in italian but yeah thats all I can critize about them. Grazie Lacuna Coil for the good memories and vibes.
I also think it's related to the spell Cris mentions in the chorus of the song. Like she's summoning the four elements to cast that spell for immortaly and all that. And Andrea's character seems to offer himself as sacrifice for that ritual/spell/whaterver. I might be wrong, it's just my own interpretation. I also love the way Cristina starts laughing when the fire is mentioned :D

It's kinda amusing that everyone seems to be talking about how great this song is (it is!) but not many seem to care how disturbing the video is. This is not the kind of stuff you should be watching with your family around. They'll be very concerned about you..lol!

I stopped listening to Lacuna Coil for probably the last 5 yrs or so, but they were actually one of my most visited concerts. Seen them like 5-6 times throughout California and Las Vegas. Excited to see they're coming back in September so wanted to find what kind of music they've been creating lately. Very pleasantly surprised they got harder as last I left them they were getting way too mainstream, poppy sounding and it turned me off from them since i fell in love w/them for their earlier more metal and ethereal sounds.. Can't wait to see them again! Gonna get my headbanging on!

I love how after comalies, lacuna went through American producers and Americanized their sound a bit, from karmacode onward...yet where most european bands would be doomed when switching to a more Americanized sound, lacuna coil proved just how good they really are at adapting to change...its too bad other once great bands couldn't do the same (in flames***) Comalies will be forever their best triumph in my opinion, and I think of that era of sound when I think of LC...but respect for them proving they can stay strong with American influence now.
I see here that they actually went more back to their roots or at least got harder here instead of sticking to that crappy poppy sounding simple lyric crap they were producing for a few years then that didn't sound anything at all like their earlier stuff. I'd say they learned from those mistakes and went back to being more authentic here probably cuz they lost many fans like me over the years.
This is very very far from their roots. They had a more "gothic" vibe early on, this is much heavier and more like modern metal productions
Delirium is Lacuna Coils best album to date. It is the perfect blend of heaviness, mixed with beautiful melodies, and haunting choruses like this one. This song is incredible.

And this is from two years ago!...I didn't know Lacuna Coil had got this heavy..And creepy...I mean, my introduction to them was kind of creepy itself, with "Heaven's A Lie" almost twenty years ago, but...that was subtle creepy...This is graphic creepy...And, for the first time I hear Andrea doing growls...That suits him better imo...

This is my all time favourite Band after I stumbled unto Unleashed Memories. I love the singers both of them. The whole band is great too. The first albums till Comalies were amazing the middle ones a bit less good and the last 2 again amazing. The Eps are great too. One of my favourite songs are: When a dead man walks and 1.19 but really many songs are great. This album were unexpected but its easily on the same level as unleashed memories that will always be my favourite because it was the first. I wish they would sing more songs in italian but yeah thats all I can critize about them. Grazie Lacuna Coil for the good memories and vibes.

I also think it's related to the spell Cris mentions in the chorus of the song. Like she's summoning the four elements to cast that spell for immortaly and all that. And Andrea's character seems to offer himself as sacrifice for that ritual/spell/whaterver. I might be wrong, it's just my own interpretation. I also love the way Cristina starts laughing when the fire is mentioned :D
