If there is a God, it loves kind souls who have a dark style more than hypocritical hateful religious people. She showed up, and they basically said no right away, but once she was able to actually try out, they realized how badass she is. And look at that, she is now a legend. This band could have gone an entirely different direction based on that decision.

Queen of Metal has to be one of these: Wendy O'Williams (The Plasmatics) Probably the first female vocalist to ever use a sustained scream, and it was in the late 70s/ early 80s. Candice Clot, (Eths) a French extreme Death metal vocalist that was one of the first to pioneer gutterals for female vocalists. Angela Gossow (Arch Enemy) The lyricist and singer of the band that most metal-historians say is the first Metalcore band. I'd Recommend checking out the songs Stop, Detruis Moi, and Ravenous by each of these bands to get a feel for them. Definitely not underplaying Maria, I've seen her live and she's a great showsperson and vocalist, but I think the Queen of Metal is a title that could go to a more influential band.

I got to see ITM live at the Toyota Music Factory on August 14th in Irving, Tx. Hearing all these wonderful songs live including "Sanctify Me," was absolutely incredible. Maria's voice live is even more impressive than I ever thought possible. It was almost a spiritual experience singing along with Maria Brink and the fans. This video is so fire. The quality can be seen and heard in all aspects of this video. The creativity, the dancing, the visuals, the voice, and the music was just perfect. I am an even bigger fan now and I can't wait to see them again.

Candice Clot, (Eths) a French extreme Death metal vocalist that was one of the first to pioneer gutterals for female vocalists.
Angela Gossow (Arch Enemy) The lyricist and singer of the band that most metal-historians say is the first Metalcore band.
I'd Recommend checking out the songs Stop, Detruis Moi, and Ravenous by each of these bands to get a feel for them.
Definitely not underplaying Maria, I've seen her live and she's a great showsperson and vocalist, but I think the Queen of Metal is a title that could go to a more influential band.

I got to see ITM live at the Toyota Music Factory on August 14th in Irving, Tx. Hearing all these wonderful songs live including "Sanctify Me," was absolutely incredible. Maria's voice live is even more impressive than I ever thought possible. It was almost a spiritual experience singing along with Maria Brink and the fans.
This video is so fire. The quality can be seen and heard in all aspects of this video. The creativity, the dancing, the visuals, the voice, and the music was just perfect.
I am an even bigger fan now and I can't wait to see them again.
Travis's presence is sorely missed in this video, but the dude has been through hell so I understand.
