Ukrainian war song about trench warfare "Me, my buddy and 2 shovels"

- Russia-ukrainian war became position-based with time, with russians changing their tactics from blitzkrieg to wide front offensives. History truly repeats itself: everything is held by rules of WW1, but the weapons are far more destructive.. Though, despite harsh conditions for war against one of the biggest countries in the world, ukrainian soldiers don't lose their humour while protecting free parts of Ukraine and liberating more occupied terriotires of our country! Glory to heroes!

I am a dwarf and I'm digging a hole
From the era of Cossack folk to the modern day, Eastern Europe has made banger after banger in the category of wartime songs, and this song is no different. Slava Ukraini!
This song made me dig thirty feet of trench in my garden. The neighbours want to know what I am doing. I might have to turn it into a skinny pond.
its the music trench now.
😂
U make my day😂!
😂❤
Diggy diggy hole
Strange how understandable this is for Poles
I'm sad there had to be a war for us to finally reconcile, but I can't be more glad we did
Niechaj żyje wolna Ukraina! Chwała bohaterom!
I mean if Z-land had plans to invade ukraine no matter what, then its better that poland and ukraine use it a motivation to reconcile than not, also because we need a strong and united west against the Facist putinist and Z-land
Chwała Bohaterom Ukrainy!
❤
Ukrainian "propaganda" military songs remind me quite directly of our own Underground State and its struggle against the Germans in WWII - we fought not only with steel, but songs were also a very important aspect of that warfare. "Zakazane piosenki", A.K.A. "Forbidden Songs".
It's sort of similar to the current struggle in Ukraine. It's not enough to just eradicate Putinists, keeping the morale up is even more important.
@@lesnik2656 - Morale is SOOOO important in war. Soldiers can’t and won’t fight with low morale. Morale does more to keep a soldier fighting than the gear they’re given honestly. A soldier with high morale may fight with just a knife, and be willing to die in a hole there on the frontline. Low morale? Surrender or desertion. Its why we see Russians surrendering so much it nearly rivals the Iraqis in the gulf war.
I can hear the melodies of both Hej, Sokoly and Säkkijärven Polkka.. freaking love it. 🇦🇹❤🇺🇦❤🇵🇱❤🇫🇮
I can hear hej sokoly, but not säkkijärven polkka. At which timestamp did you notice it?
Just fun fact this kind of rhythm and melody is called... Polka here in Ukraine
@@failmarine2.0 I can kind of hear it around 2:13. The way in which "We must attack" is said sounds similar to "säkkijärven polkka" to me.

This is one of the most beautiful military songs that I ever heard. My best wishes to the author of the lyrics, the music, the singers, the musicians. I likes this song so much that I am putting it on my cell phone. Slava Ukraine! Slava ZSU!
Me too :)
I love these guys ;p
Before 2014 I didn't know anything about Ukraine but now I think they are the coolest nation in the world.
Slava Ukraini from Germany.
Была такой, пока туда не полез запад
Good spirits, song, and a sound grasp of military realities are exactly why Ukraine cannot be defeated. Slava Ukraine!
Авдеевка) и так будет со всей Украиной
During the 1980s my father and my uncle were doing their military service and while my father got assigned to tank engine maintenance, my uncle was put in the infantry and they were just digging tranches all the time.
Dad was an anti-Tank commander in WW2, and even with them, it was much the same.

@@marocat4749 yes, there is a lot of that spirit and humor in a lot of Eastern Slavic folk music. If you enjoy that then you may want to look more into that kind of folk music
0:36 "We have to dig, God damn it"
- Love that lyric!
I immediately think of dwarfs. Fantasy, right? But it is reality. From the UA perspective, dwarves VS. orcs is kind of how it is fought out. UA can kill multitudes of Russians, but it doesn't really matter. Any UA losses are significant. Tbh: I think calling Ruszzians as Orcs is not acceptible: they are also people. But if they use them in that way, and they are killed in that way, then I have no problem referring to them as such.
Slava Ukraini from Hungary. We failed to break free in 1956 from the Russian orks, but I hope you will be successful. Slava Ukraini!
Watch your Obbán. It's strange coincidence That Orbán was a hungarian cannonmaker who build great bombard for sultan against Constantinople.

While fighting for your very survival against the ruzzisht occupants, you simultaneously battle the Irish (and maybe the Fins) for the crown of top wartime songs - slava ukraini, herojam slava
Id say they've won that, just the amount of songs they made during 2014/15

Ukrainian mindset at its finest - that is one of those few nations that never learned to back down and surrender.
Tough place, when it comes to geography. A similar military situation to Poland, it's like a *** highway:-Mongols, Ottomans, Poles, Russians, Magyars, a bit of Swedish army, once even French and Germans/Austrians (at least twice) steamrolled through that land - and those guys are still there.
If that's not insanely stubborn resistance, IDK what is.

Slava Ukraini!! 💙💛
Nothing is more true than diggin in war.
We come from Vasylkiv
Name is Grysha, here's my buddy Vova
In the morning, in enlistment office
We received our rifles
Near Mriya, near Bucha
Fought against fucking moscovites
Near Kyiv our deputy commander
Was teaching us how to dig trenches
Me, my buddy and 2 shovels
On our backs our trusty rifles
If we want to defeat Moscovia
We have to dig, god damn it
Me, my buddy and 2 shovels
On our backs our trusty rifles
If we want to defeat Moscovia
We have to dig, god damn it
Under Kherson we fought
Ran out of grenades
In the village's end, in ruined home
We met our deputy commander
He says: oh my dear brothers
Your shovels are your weapons
Infantry has got two jobs:
If you don't fire - go dig trenches
Me, my buddy and 2 shovels
Ran out of grenades
Infantry has got two jobs:
If you don't fire - go dig trenches
Me, my buddy and 2 shovels
Ran out of grenades
Infantry has got two jobs:
If you don't fire - go dig trenches
In the tops of the last year
We dug trenches under Rubizhne
Then, according to god's will,
Dug out trenches in Huliaipole
Ground is like steel in prairie
Like a virgin maiden
In an hour we managed to break
All of our shovels
And here comes a heavy moment
We see Zaluzhnyi coming
With two shovels in his hands
Our persistent general
"Hear me Grysha, Hear me Vova
To get closer to victory
And defeat Moscovia
We must attack!"
Me, my buddy and 2 shovels
In our hands our trusty rifles
If we want to defeat Moscovia
We must attack!
Me, my buddy and 2 shovels
In our hands our trusty rifles
If we want to defeat Moscovia
We must attack!
Me, my buddy and 2 shovels
In our hands our trusty rifles
If we want to defeat Moscovia
We must attack!
