    This is my fourth of a whole series of tutorial videos to help all Judoka and trainees learn or improve their throwing techniques.
    The advantage of this tutorial is that all throwing techniques are presented in motion for a realistic result.
    Enjoy and don't forget to subscribe!
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

    The truth is that the grasp or not of the bell constitutes a basic differ between O goshi, Uki goshi and Tsuri goshi (based on Kodokan) and personally, I agree with the argument. However, i think that the most important point to notice is the use of the hips ( Uki goshi-> rotary motion, Tsuri/O goshi-> vertical orbit, lifting) and that is exactly what Sensei Siopis wants to show us. Also, we should clarify the kind of judo we want to practice on. In traditional Judo we may not grasp the belt, but what about racing judo? Each sensei modify their own style (without, of course, altering the basic structure of the techniques°otherwise, we talk about a completely different martial art)
    Always happy to discuss the details with other athletes! :)

    Very nice, clear instruction. I don´t understand greek but is not needed.
    Sometimes I put the hip way too the outside like in the third example.

    O-Goshi mistake - Don't grab the belt. Belt grab will be Tsuri-Goshi. Other than that thank you for the video.

    Why is it wrong to pull with your elbow? that's the way I was taught, and I've seen other instructors teach it the same way

    I thought grabbing the belt makes it Tsuri Goshi.

    Con la mano en el cinturón es Uki Goshi. O Goshi es con la palma de la mano en la espalda.

      Cuando agarras el cinturón es Tsuri goshi

    isn't that uki goshi because of touching the belt on the back of tori?

    • @victorsiopis7291
      @victorsiopis7291  7 лет назад

      No, it is O-Goshi because of that!

      Uki-goshi is partial hip so no. But it's not O-goshi either, Victor should have named the video "Tsuri-goshi" which is an O-goshi when you grab the belt

      Correct. I agree.

    • @victorsiopis7291
      @victorsiopis7291  6 лет назад

      Exaclty. This is O-goshi because the tori (white) grabs the belt of uke.

    • @lHurtYourFeeIings
      @lHurtYourFeeIings 6 лет назад

      No. O-goshi doesn't grab the belt. Tsuri-Goshi grabs the belt. This title is wrong.

    I suggest you use Google Translate to translate greek text to english and then add the english as subtitles on the video. I was unable to understand anything at all from the greek audio.
