Hi my friends!!! It's a great pleasure to share with you the beauty of Murano, the "Glass" island of Venice. A calm walking tour around its streets and canals. A shining day with few people, a perfect day to catch the beauty of the island.
The island of Murano consists of 7 individual islands linked together by beautiful bridges. The whole island actually measures a mere 1 mile, which is easily walkable in two or three hours.
Murano has a ‘Canale Grande’ (Grand Canal) that runs down the center, and separates rows of ancient buildings. The most impressive building on the island is the municipal building, called ‘Palazzo Da Mula’. This dates back to the 13th century, and features a characteristically gothic facade, popular in Venetian architecture.

What to see in Murano?
You can visit the Murano Glass Museum, the Basilica of Saint Mary and Saint Donatus, the Church of Saint Peter the Martyr, and one of the Glass factories open with Glass demonstrations. Of course this is the best island to buy Murano Glass!. Take a meal in one of the restaurants facing the canals, to enjoy the beautiful view.
