      I don't blame him, I've grown Coco next to supersoil and the ONLY pro for me PERSONALLY with the Supersoil is less watering/feeding, but I actually enjoy feeding my plants daily so I choose Coco cuz it gets me bigger plants, bigger yields, better quality, dispensaries paid me more for my bud grown in Coco over Supersoil AND a friend of mine who's a vendor at 1 of the same places and he used a hydro machine and got less per lb than mine in Coco, I'm NOT even CLOSE to a pro grower either.

      @SEEK ONE have you grown in peat/Perlite before? And whether yes or no what would you say the ratio is of the peat & perlite? Alot of ppl are using the 50/50 peat and/or Coco to Perlite ratio & I've heard ALOT of ppl recently say that's just too much Perlite & it's not needed & if anything COULD potentially be making it harder for the roots to fully absorb the nutes. Until I have those answers and then I'd also ask what size pot your using, how often are you feeding AND watering? I ask BOTH of those questions because typically in Coco it's for the most part a rule of thumb that you feed EVERY time you water when you grow in Coco,& Coco is VERY thin which USUALLY in MOST cases the master growers I know are watering AND feeding AT LEAST once a day IF OUTDOORS AND IT'S HOT THEN I PERSONALLY have had giant plants in 20 gallon pots that I was watering AND feeding sometimes twice a day & as unusual as that sounds depending on the temp, the size of the pot,& how much water you're giving it per watering/feeding it's actually the right thing to do. I know guys who use Coco or peat indoors as well & get PERFECT results by following the feeding daily schedule (even though Coco isn't REALLY hydroponic like a hydro system etc.. It STILL is damn close because the peat and/or Coco is so thin that the water and nutes go right THROUGH it & it allows the roots to get soaked in the nutes which is what makes it so popular & that's what makes ppl get bigger plants & bigger yields. So..... Having said all of that (sorry for the novel), I would 1st start by feeding daily, if you're going to water your plant give it some nutes. I don't remember in your question if you said what strength nutes you're giving, are you feeding it the maximum amnt? I'm going to say your roots are either getting dry from the 3 days of no water or nutes inbetween the feedings, and then MAYBE(again depending on your answers) your roots could be getting too much or too little nitrogen, I'm gna hafta go back & make sure & double check the symptoms you're seeing but the reason I'm thinking either COMPLETE polar opposites in either nitrogen deficiency or nitrogen burn is because I don't know the ratio with the Perlite, or the strength of nutes you're feeding with & I am wondering if your roots are getting to the point that they're getting so dry that when they do finally get the nutes then they're getting overdosed & shocked again depending on how many gallons of water per side of pot etc.... Are they dying or dead anywhere yet on the plant? And forgive me but again what stage of growth are you in? Once I have these amswers I'll let you know more than likely what I think it could be, again I am decent at growing in Coco but I too am trying to enhance my knowledge daily & each grow I have I make it a goal that EVERY grow I get a bigger yield w/better quality than before, just since last yr's outdoor harvest I had in October I've already learned a few new things that I wasn't necessarily doing WRONG before but things I can do better to enhance my yields and most of all the quality of what I grow is key as it should be for everyone. Again I apologize for such a lengthy response where you're probably wondering "so wtf am I doing wrong?!!" LOL.. Trust me there's a method to the madness

      @SEEK ONE ok so now that I've re read your question it sounds like in the end your final product is coming out nicely? If so and if you have been using coco for more than just this 1 grow then I'd just say as long as your getting nice yields of good quality bud I wouldn't worry too much about the burning fan leaves except take it as a potential sign of MAYBE nitrogen burn? My 1st time using Coco was the outdoor grow season of 2015 & I made the decision to never go back to soil when I started germinating a Purple Kush seed on April 13th if I remember correctly, & on 4/20 I had it in a 1 gallon pot outside from sun up til sun down, then as soon as the sun would get pretty dim at 8ish P.M. or so I'd go outside and take ALL my plants but at that specific time I was ONLY bringing in my PK plant cuz it had grown to 2' tall already & I'd just given it it's 1st topping & I had a lil set up of 4 T5's in my spare bedroom so I was giving that girl 22 hrs of light a day & then I'd set my alarm for about 3 A.M. & then I'd go into my spare bedroom where everyday I swear she grew another 6" in height & then with the toppings & pinching it got busy too so at 3 A.M. I'd put it back outside to let it have a couple hrs of sleep & that's also the time when I'd feed the 8 plants I ended up finishing & successfully harvesting that season & I'd give em all a nice foliar spray too after giving the Coco a direct feed to the roots & I'd just make up pretty much the exact SAME nutes I was feeding to the roots in the Coco but I'd make it a lil lighter (about 50% strength) while i'd leave my silica & Cal-Mag strength the exact same as my direct root feed & it seemed like around 3-4 A.M. giving em all nice cool water to keep the root zone cool along with a nice foliar feed just made them ALL take off but that PK that was getting 22 hrs of light per day from 4/20/15 til 6/1/15 and it was over 6 ft tall by June 1st and it was just a seed in a bag when I woke up on 4/13/15, so I was noticing that even my smallest strain that yr which every1 had told me to NOT bother with cuz of how small they are & they're notoriously small yielders too & even that plant was 5 ft tall on June 1st & quite bushy & I'd also topped & pinched that plant EVERYWHERE I could too so they were all getting the same treatment except for the Purple Kush was getting 22 hrs of light up until it reached 5+ ft in height & was also as bushy as a fuckin house so carrying it thru the house every night at 8 P.M. & then EVERY morning at 3 A.M. became a bitch so eventually they were all on the same track by June 1st & I'll never forget laughing that my Purple Kush Indica was almost 7 ft tall by 2nd week of June & my J1 was a few inches shorter than it (J1 is a big sativa bitch & is known for growing into tall semi lanky fuckin trees) unless you top it 5 times & pinch the top & secondary nodes off every 10-12 days like a mad man as I did that yr but what I'm getting at is I was in my 6th yr of growing & had my biggest, healthiest, tallest, bushiest,& BIGGEST yield I'D EVER HAD ON ANY PLANT IN THOSE 6 YRS OF GROWING on my smallest plant that yr & I thought I figured out how to grow weed better than any1 and I won't lie I was bragging a little bit (keep in mind this was also encouraged by all my friends who had watched my 1st 2 grow seasons go terribly wrong & I look back at 2015's harvest & I didn't even know how to train my plants yet, so yes I had some huge plants & my biggest yields ever but there has been ALOT learned since then & I STILL have ALOT to learn as growing evolves & as I try little project's & experiments similar to that year, I'm not sure of ALL the nutes ur using but if you liked growing in Coco as much as I did then it'll ONLY get BETTER if u add in some Silica which to my surprise ALOT of ppl don't bother with it but THAT seemed to be what my plants REALLY loved after a topping or any kind of stress I'd put my plants thru, those foliar feeds were VERY beneficial & at 3-4 A.M. they had enough time to dry off & cool down right before the nice bright hot summer sun would come up & make those girls stand up & reach to the sky, ALWAYS make sure ur mixing ur nutes in the correct order (Silica, Cal-Mag Micro, Grow, Bloom,& then during flower I used bloom boosters and other nutes that were added in last & while MANY ppl may be against or argue that bloom boosters are a waste of money I will GLADLY waste my money on them cuz the side by side difference compared to plants that were the same strain, same sized pot,& same nutes but without the bloom boosters were not nearly as big, dense, heavy, frosty, or as tasty or as good smelling as my plant's that I did use the bloom boosters on, so we have the same amnt of yrs put in on growing & I'm JUST realizing that yes there are certain things & techniques when done properly will 100% of the time help ur plants get bigger, & if u trim em up right then ur sure to have bigger & better yields than if u went without those things, BUT EVERY TRUE GROWER (IN MY EXPERIENCE) has their own unique style and/or way of growing & it just works. At the end of the day ur getting good yields of REALLY GOOD quality bud then that's ALL that u can ask for at the end of the day. Try giving ur plants about 25% strength less than ur currently using and see if the burning goes down or a way, cut the leafs off that are burnt and crispy cuz they're wasting ur plant's energy when it COULD be directed elsewhere to get you bigger & better buds, AGAIN I apologize for writing a 500 page novel but growing is my 1 true hobby that I just CANNOT get enough of. Keep learning & feel free to ask questions,& I am an idiot as far as knowledge goes compared to probably 75% of the ppl on here & I PROMISE to keep it short & simple next time LOL

    At around 18:00 minutes you talked about turning hemp stalks into bio char, you are thinking too hard, compost the stalks, the stalks would naturally have all the building blocks the plants would need to grow and the plants are naturally adapted to grow in what would've made up their soil which would've been fields of hemp plants that died and fell over and composted

    At about 10:15 in when he brings up how many ppl leave out Silica is SO true. I've really for the most part only been an outdoor grower since my 1st ever grow in 2010, I didn't know shit about nutes then but growing is trial & error, so in 2013 I used silica for the 1st time in addition to Cal-Mag and that grow was my overnight "rise to stardom" type growing moment, I used regular old soil with NO special amendments or ANYTHING & I only grew 4 plants that yr (2 different strains) & I got my biggest yields I've EVER had (up until that point), & I even got a plant that was known to be a smaller plant with a smaller yield to pull off what some get from heavy yielding sativas & I showed some friends & acquaintances my final product after dried & cured & I gave samples and for my acquaintances who did NOT see my plants grow in veg like some of my close friends did Accused me of lying when I told them it was soil grown cuz they thought the quality and bag appeal looked too good to NOT be from a hydro machine or some shit, so that was a HUGE eye opener & EVER since THEN I've MADE SURE to use silica with EVERY grow. Then I switched to Coco in 2017 and that was my NEXT jump up to "growing stardom" & I LOVE Coco outdoors, indoors, EVERYWHERE, & for any1 who hasn't used Silica I advise that u use it & make sure it's the 1st nute u mix. Even BEFORE u put ur Cal-Mag into the water ur mixing nutes in make sure that U add ur Silica to ur water 1st & since I grow in Coco I'm feeding my plants EVERYDAY & I use silica EVERYDAY, when transplanting it looks like my roots have been brushing with a teeth bleaching or whitening kit, VERY CLEAN, BRIGHT WHITE, STRONG & THICK roots & NO LIMITS as to how big u can make ur plant given that u can Supercrop, LST, pinch,& train properly.

    • @poepflater
      @poepflater 5 лет назад +2

      @m g When I fill the bags, I mix in a handful or two of castings to innoculate the coco with microbes. I have an old flowbin outside I keep some compost and biochar in too. it is dry by now, but I was well cooked into the biochar. I add a bit of that too to each bag. The next time to use biochar is mixed with sugars when you are flushing your plants.

    • @poepflater
      @poepflater 5 лет назад +4

      @m g I believe that application of composting is an unnatural event. It normally happens in low frequency when say an animal dies or deficates, but the field isn't full of sht. It is said that about 2 inch thick leaf carpet per anum is enough to replenish just about everything you can take out in a year. Guano is almost never sustainably harvested. I do believe that when you grow in soil or coco, you should be all about the microbes and small insects, as they unlock the minerals at a much more efficient cost to the plant and only feeds what is required. The plants can even instruct the microbes to feed it specific things by communicating through dropping terpenes o the ground.

    Hot soil comes in three basic forms. To much nutrient density, To much nitrogen, and to much physical heat.
    My guess is most likely physical heat or nitrogen.
    Reasoning of this is,1 you leave the worms in the pots, and they continue breeding in a Confined area. This builds up castings.
    2 you leave the roots in the the pot and they DO break down..essentially creating a compost bin out of your pots.
    In the event that you leave the root stock in the pot, I recommend you graft another plant to it...your output will blow you away.
    If you want to mix compost or amendments really well, believe it or not...USE a snowblower.

    Why don't Electric cars have a compartment for batteries in the rear where you can store an extra battery, but also have a charging system included and that way when your battery goes dead, you can pull over and do a quick swap and that one will recharge while you are back on the road? We have alternators for fossil fuel run vehicles that keep your battery charged.... seems a total waste to not have that tech. available for Elec. cars. Just my $0.02.

    • @topshelf4205
      @topshelf4205 4 года назад +1

      Why are people so mad about salt-based nutes? 🤷‍♂️
      I started with salt-based on my first grow because the grow shop didn't know shit and couldn't tell me the difference. I've done outdoors (only organic!) And sometimes my indoors smell and taste better, sometimes my outdoors. Its all about the right and good amount of flush!!
      And the potency.. can't complain about that either. Indoor and outdoor provide a very different high tho

    • @topshelf4205
      @topshelf4205 4 года назад

      Furthermore, if you don't have the perfect environment you don't want organic nutes that have the potency to make your house or apartment smell like rotten fish and shit.

    • @spraynardcrugar6911
      @spraynardcrugar6911 4 года назад +1

      @@topshelf4205 you can do organics without smell, and I dont like salt based nutes because they aren't a sustainable way to go, and I especially think if youre doing large scale you should really try to be as eco friendly as you can, not saying you cant make a fantastic product with salts, you definitely can. also salts are bad for your fungal and bacteria life in your soil so dont like them for that reason either.

    • @spraynardcrugar6911
      @spraynardcrugar6911 4 года назад +1

      @@topshelf4205 also if youre doing organic right there is no flush.

    • @topshelf4205
      @topshelf4205 4 года назад

      @@spraynardcrugar6911 yeah I know the opinions very well and as I said I'm doing outdoors organically only ofc. I would do organically indoors aswell but as I said the smell is a problem if you don't have the right environment. Good fans and filters won't help there if you cultivate in a small area with limited air flow. That's why salts are a very good alternative in some cases imo.

      Read "burn" by Albert Bates and Kathleen draper-"using fire to cool the earth". The idea is is to create solid carbon that will remain in the soils for hundreds to thousands of years, as opposed to a short carbon life and then being released into the atmosphere.
