I hate to admit I love Adam Dunn. I wasn't to dislike him but can't.
I agree with the THC thing. It's not about the level of THC but how well balanced the effects are.

If a breeder sells regular seeds and you buy them, they are yours to do as you please. A breeder can't dictate that if a customer is to spend the time and money to grow out those seeds and any wind up being male, the breeder can not say the customer can't use them. If that is the case, is there a refund for the time and money wasted on that male? Otherwise the breeder has nothing to do with any work done from their work after a sale.
I think the issue is with people turning around and selling those seeds. Not necessarily people breeding for themselves.
If I purchase a Great Dane from a breeder and then breed the G.D. With another dog and put in the work to create a new breed, you are right I don’t owe the the breeder of the G.D. A damn thing! It would be in good taste to give the breeder an honorable mention, but that’s the most anyone can expect.

It's even more galling coming from someone like James Loud, Who has what can be only described as a basic understanding of Plant Genetics and Breeding. I watched him trying to explain Genotype and Phenotype to Masonic (Who didn't understand the conversation he was in lol) and he still managed to Mansplain it incorrectly. Most breeders now are hacks just smashing Polyhybrids to Polyhybrids and expecting hundreds of dollars per pack. It's all a bad joke. Caleb, Tom Hill, High Lonesome, Fletch, Dubi and Mahakala all come to mind as breeders with love for the plant. If we have paid for that pack we can do wtf we like with it contents.
Big respect to these guys. I'm new to cultivation and I just tried my first autoflower. I got some ganja farmer seeds Skywalker og bred by James Loud.

So the question is how did you guys start your lines? We’re you around in the beginning of time to take landraces out of the wild and inbreed or cross other landraces. Of course not. If your genetics are up for sale people will buy them and cross them with what they want and call them their own like you three on stage did.

I've got orig afghan skunk from 1980, probiotic grown 30years still as healthy as day 1. Just gota grow in microbes rich environment and they stay vigerous

If you sell your seed dont cry about others breeding it... all of you got your seed from somewhere else.. I think some breeders need to get over themselves 🤷♂️

Some breeders go through effort to get land race strains and other more pure hybrids of old school genetics to breed their strains.
That said many don't. But for some getting those seeds was mad effort and money involved.
Like chronic is a set of seeds that came from some random seeds associated with a rap tour. Beyond that nobody knows the full history. Some breeders have all the different versions plus loads of hazes including the phenotypes of certain land race varieties or hybrids of land race strains. Same for kush. And skunk. Some even get different strains of land race auto flowers and hemp varieties for breeding other cannbioids higher such as cbd or making them auto flower vs photoperiod.

If I went back in time to the mid 70's and told my friends that in 2020 a single seed sells for $15 minimum, they would laugh at me as they threw a hand full of Columbian gold seeds out their window of their car. What they call Columbian gold now, is not even slightly like the gold from the 70's. The buds were tight, hard, and the color of gold, not a speck of green. If I only knew back then that the seed industry would be bigger than the weed industry I would have saved every seed for the exotic land races, and I smoked all of them back then.

I like meca good fruit sometimes but it's gota be super sespa terp dominated to hold through the j, or bowl. If it doesn't hold the flavor then I go Bak to my CHEMTRAILZ with just bout every one. Cuz that just puts raunchy fuel terps on whatever it touches.
Just like ourselves, cannabis is all different, and you tastebuds are not the same as anyone else per se, there will foods that you really like because of smell or taste or texture aka mouth feel or memory of a really great time that which because of your extreme happiness imparted a really good memory of that food and therefore a strong like of that food as it contributed to the entire experience. Herb/Weed/Cannabis is a really complex plant, sure it gets us high and can make us feel good, but it can also make us paranoid or tired or not able to concentrate and a real flighty mind that goes everywhere depending on the strain, it has soooooooo many different uses from medicinal to fiber for building rope or hemp board or hempcrete (concrete made from hemp) to clothing or oil for cooking or as an additive for gas aka fossil fuel and well beyond these! My point is to each their own and enjoy the strains that you like but don't get stuck on a couple! Be willing and open to keep searching for "that" strain that you really like! Add it to your liked strains!

you can’t sell something and still own it.
Breeders often speak like they have some special connection that no one else can ever have with a specific plant or strain. They bred a couple dozen generations and think those dozen breedings created something new that never existed before. All the genetics we have are recombinations of genes sorted from countless generations of cannabis breeding over melenia. We have just as much a right to make and sell any seeds we like as you do. You make and sell seeds then tell people it’s wrong to make more and sell them just like you did.
The price of the seeds- or clone- / is the representation of your allowing of the work to create your building block . So it can be utilized, by whomever you choose to make money off ; purchaser.
If they are gifts, entitle the intentions with gift.

That sounds like our old franconian snowcap/yellow snow, after the citrus skunks, orange bud etc. became popular in the mid 2000s nobody grew it anymore, as most people here only grow in winter where the catty smell comes through even more, but it was super potent and made your head spin but without any strong sedation with light green buds that had this neon glow.

I believe cannabis is a gift from god and that it is a gift for EVERY person let them breed every family should have their own weed they grow with the vegetables in the garden it's medicine and it's natural and harmless in comparison FREE THE PLANT✊

I have found that smoking one strain for longer than 5 days straight that my body becomes adjusted to it. I can switch to any lower any lower THC strain and it will effect me more, for the first joint that is.

Great interview but the real catpiss is still around as a clone only but it's not widely held. Also the roadkill skunk was around way before the mid 90s. Back then hat was available was very regional because of legality and technology so dates and experiences vary obviously.

like alot of people, when i first started seeing legal seeds on the market i scoffed at the prices. i grew my own indoors for about 2years using whatever seeds i could get my hands on, going through males and poor specimens until i finally decided to order some from a distributer. now i am a fan of feminized stable seeds and dont mind the cost. i buy only 5 seeds at a time and germinate 2 of them. if i like the first plants i will re-veg after harvest and then make clones. 2 seeds can keep me supplied for years.

Im in the US and have gotten a hold of those European seeds, like Rkiem, Sweet Seeds, Sensi, Dinafem, etc. And they are in fact shitty, anyone care to explain how the homogenize a cultivar? its amazing how they sell mids versions of american strains

We had great genetics up here at one time. I mean the original Afghani , hash plant, and of course northern lights. We live very rurally cut off from trends. Even to this day the NL is still the standard. The other 2 became watered down you could say. I was too wild at the time to see into the future of keeping these going. Bummer

A good Breeding concept to think of is like this if a mom (human) is a perfectly healthy all that gets pregnant and starts drinking her fuvking ass off and smoking globes all day the whole pregnancy till Birth the odds are highly that kid won’t come out to healthy and not have some kind of issues. This is probably common sense to most of you reading this but there’s people who might not
man none of you all don't own jack when you create a seed you can own it only the creator owns the plant we should all feel blessed to use them . do you pay the people where you got the original strains from . that's the problem with you guys you always want to own what is gifted to everyone .

Can cat pisss genetics be mistaken for say, ammoniacal nitrogen or something. Because I've cultivated a Canuk seeds banner strain maybe it was, and it was a very strong smell of cat urine. And I came across it another instance as well, but I assume it's coming from my soil changing up its structure due to flowering or plant requests.
This is gonna end up like pedigree dogs. I see in the future breeders sending contracts with seeds under this mentality. Yes I'll sell you them but if you get a male we get part ownership.

Terpenes have a lot to do with it. Plus there are other cannabinoids in weed. Using only thc and terpenes can only get such a broad range of effects. Cbn and cbd feel very different.
Also bad sour diesal is 14 percent. It can hit like 18 to 20 for a prime batch. White widow really only hits like maybe 25 at best. Two of my favorite strains. But I also love me some high thc producers. That said for sleep certain kush strains with lots of cbn are better. High thc maybe some cbd and sativa genetics for the day. High cbn with medium to high thc with certain terps for night.
We have real cat piss in Canada. It's a pheno of another really well known strain. The genetics would surprise you.
Also a white widow pheno also called cat piss from an old cut.
I had some crazy haze that did shit like that. Ate through a friggen smell proof bag. Fucked up the inside of a medical packaging bag as well. Couldn't sit on that shit long. Extracted some and the extract was easier to store but deff removed some of the terps extracting that shit. And limonene can be used for extraction. Think it's just a terpene that fucks shit up bad but worth it for the benefits.

Breed it back into itself. Clone it a couple times. Force one to herm. Collect pollen and breed back to mother or clone.
