As much as I agree with the sentiment of looking towards successful players and trying to apply techniques they do, I feel like the context you're giving paints a picture where people can easily find themselves in a loop of "new things" without actually knowing if they are benefitting their gameplay or not. This process you've described is a great way to create a feedback loop of creating habits without purpose. Whenever you get comfortable applying the things you've learned into basic gameplay, your next step should be to review your own gameplay and look at where the things you implemented were successful and where they weren't. This context is ESSENTIAL for actually painting a picture for developing effective gameplans that aren't layer one options. Once you have added new options to the melting pot, your goal for actually improving from it is to piece together what combinations of them are effective in what scenarios and with what adaptations/conditioning in play.

@@elijmin2 The video is great 👍 Definitely would be a good point to include that mindful practice is important. Most players should be smart enough to want to understand when and why they should do something they see higher level players do rather than do it because, "Well Shadic does it" 🤷‍♂️

One more thing I would recommend peeps are practicing in Bo5 style, and do small breaks after every Bo5. Condition your brain to go full focus in a Bo5 setting, so it focuses when it matters. If you play nonstop for an hour, your focus might come and diminish quickly. But ofc figure out whats best for you.

While my VoD reviews are based off of looking at my own and my opponent's habits, I never thought of pausing the VoD mid-match in order to try and guess what the top level player would do next. Hmm...

Best part is , u gain a lot more stamina , and if ur always thinking, ur gonna learn faster than anything else and u can adapt mid match faster. Thats the best part about doing it consistently and constantly

Something I have taught myself is if you need to start implementing something in your gameplay it will only happen if you do it. You have to force yourself to do what ever tech cause you can learn how to do something without doing in a game

I really don't have a set practice for training my main, although it just takes time and patients. pretty much what makes me a better player through WIFI is experience and VOD review my games through the replay system to make sure what I can improve. I main Mac, (secondary Doc, Mario, and Fox). sure I abuse their combo potential and power, but the main reason I am consistent is based on Experienced through peoples play style and their habits.

2 things I feel should've been mentioned here: You should not be scared of edgeguarding and practice it! I've seen a lot of players just not go offstage because they don't want to be cheesed, I should also point out to the new players that teching is a skill you must have during high level smash ultimate gameplay! I wouldn't also do every move with the subconscious thing you mentioned because something like instinctually up b out of shield with cloud can be really predictable so also try to mix up stuff like that

I would say that u should start VOD reviewing urself and seeing what u do well and ur habits and what u don't do well as u need to learn first ur BNBs and kill confirms and then learn general neutral and advantage then to play disadvantage. As for elite smash i don't think it's that good unless ur already a good player u should play with ppl who can give u feedback. I feel ur givn advice to ppl who already kno how to play the game.

Well AcTuAlLy after some calculations 🤓improving everyday by 1% will make you x3.5 in about 127 days aka 4 months, and in a year you'd be x37.41 STRONGER (!!!)🤓
