This is a fallacy I see everywhere. "If everyone is X then no one is X." If a game has a multitude of flaws that does not make the game unflawed because the flaws cancel out or something. 64 is still a great game, but every character having a really strong or broken move(s) means that most people are restricted to spamming those moves if they want to win, and the characters who are most effective at activating their broken shit will dominate. This is of course in reference to the competitive scene, IMO 64's replayability comes from the casual aspects of the game.

Just a few incorrect things I noticed when watching ; ) > Competitive ssb64 has being using 4 stocks not 5 for most major tournaments for a while now. > Z-cancelling does not remove ALL landing lag. You still receive the same amount of lag from landing as you would from not using a move, 4 frames. 8 frames if you are fast falling. > Jigglypuff f-throw to rest does not work on any character at most %s. There are characters it never combos on. E.g. Pikachu, Kirby, Luigi, Samus, Puff. A lot of chars it works on can also jump out or use a move to counter above 70% and of course it isn't as strong as melee rest so you will see it used below 25-30% only on occasion since certain chars can just return to stage and attack sleeping Puff. > Jigglypuff Nair is fairly disjointed this is true but when Kirby is in big Kirby mode (too long to explain) his Nair is essentially identical in size and comes out faster than Puffs. It is also not the most disjointed of aerials and can be beaten head to head by a number of them that are more disjointed. E.g. Fox b-air or Pika's up-air. Pika's tail is not a hurtbox at all and is often cited as the most disjointed aerial.
"Jigglypuff f-throw to rest does not work on any character at most %s. There are characters it never combos on. E.g. Pikachu, Kirby, Luigi, Samus, Puff." Heeew should have said F-Throw - X - Rest. And X is usually 0-3 up-airs. That works on Kirby till 9% and Pikachu till 14% (and if you put one up-air between the moves it kills). On Luigi it also works till 9% but isn't really useful. Only against the last two it never works.
Yep! this is correct, it is true at those %s on pika and Kirby but of course completely useless. Throw - upair - rest (though easily Di-able - fair/bair is better on pika) does kill on parts of the stage on them. However, him changing it to "throw - x - rest" instead would also have technically been incorrect because there are no such combos on Puff and Samus. He would also have to remove the that part that says "...at most %s" 😁
@@paettie444 dude, literally just used the combo on level 9 Pikachu at 26% like 10 minutes ago, and I just did it to a level 9 Kirby at 17%. What do you mean, "Works till [insert percentage here]" when it works beyond that?
@@paettie444 and now level 9 Luigi at 14%. Did you just mean good players or the characters in general, because my testing really doesn't like your results (if I sound harsh, I don't mean to be; I simply tried it myself and got different results that say yours are wrong)? Edit: I do appreciate that you didn't outright say that the combo doesn't work, since it does. Just did it to Samus at 0% (seems like you can't do it to her much higher than that). Edit 2: Samus at 7% (I'm only testing level 9 CPU, just to clarify). Edit 3: looks like you actually can't do it to Jigglypuff, even at 0%. I've tried my hardest, but I have discovered another amazing combo in the process (it's actually way better than up-throw/forward throw->rest in my opinion).
@@ShadowFoxx3120 In training mode in the left upper corner there's a combo meter. If it gets reset upon a hit, it doesn't connect meaning that the opponent was no longer in hitstun and could have done something like a jumped or up-B-ed before and to avoid getting hit (good human players will always do that). These are maybe not the exact numbers btw, I don't know them, I only memorized "important percentage".. Considering a weak hit nair does 9%, a strong nair 14% and an up-tilt 10%. I'd say on Pikachu you can connect f-throw into rest til 19%, on Luigi & Kirby til 9% and on Samus & Jiggs it never connects.

@@Lipidwave That's why I have a high expectations. He's done it so well that he needs a break.
I'm doubting there will be much in Ultimate is broken, given it's looking to be the most mechanically sound Smash game by a country mile.
KINGOFDASLIPPYS ultimate will be the best game undoubtedly but no matter what there will always be something wrong with the game, a mechanic will be unfair, a character will be overpowered, or it will have a limited amount of legal stages, that’s just smash works, no matter what smash we’re talking about
The most satisfying (or most tilting, depending on which end you were on) move in 1999 videogames was to up-smash your friend as fox and then catch them with another up smash on their way back down.
Hey, when kirby was viable
Carried by up-tilt.

Only a couple weeks until SSBU. Soon it’s gonna be time for super smash bros ultimate is broken

you're in memes lego reviews and smash 🗿
It's not broken at all
And Smash 4
Only 5 more days
I mean, it lacks things compared to the later games in the series- but that makes sense because this was the first game. You cant really say it's missing anything bc it came first. It's not missing things, the later games just added things. But still, a good video
advancedhero smash players just gotta say something bout it lol
@@yoyoprofessorxavier lol. And I mean, I wasnt really paying attention when I wrote that comment. He made a video on every smash game, so its not like he was singeling this game out. I was just confused as to why it compares the first game with its sequels
well without the context of moves not being in the game, some of the later points wouldn't sense
Except it's definitely missing hitboxes

'It's the most unique smash game"

@Ice Kirby but true poyo
Thus, it’s unique.
It isn't broken if everyone is broken.

Naw, it's the most balanced game in the franchise.
true words
Smash 4 is. You can win with any character, if you play them right that is.
those words work with every fighting game almost
That is any game. It's based on the person controlling him. I win with Yamcha on fighter Z does that make him the best on that game?
@@crispybacon4486 That's really dumb to say. Yes if you play your character right you can win in sm4sh that's true for all games including brawl. Just a lot less so for brawl. But smash 64 is the game it's easiest to win with any character.
I think this video should be called helpful stuff for competition
If you time it well then Yoshi's dair can do like 50% and eats shield. It's ridiculous.
And I thought Sm4sh's 32 damage was broken
and it has a very good spike
Crazy how strong it’s been in every game.
How do you do it?
Yoshi Cycle is one of the most devastating moves in that version of Smash.
Even link thinks his recovery is bad he even says "shaat"
This game is the reason I suck at any later rendition. I spent thousands of hours with it ;-;
Smash 64 is only hated because it isn’t melee.
William Eskridge Even Melee is hated for not being Melee.
I rarely ever see people hate on smash 64, to most of the melee elitists it’s the 2nd best game in the series
I don't like either
I love Brawl the best
64 is cool
Brawl is better
I love the Smash Bros games so much, but I gotta admit that these BROKEN videos are hilarious! I know that Smash 4 is next!

I may not be a fan of small rosters but they do have their advantages. Most notable being Balance.
Definitely the most balanced smash in the entire series.
As far as percentage of the cast, it is pretty balanced which is surprising. Pikachu, Fox, Falcon, Kirby, yoshi, jigglypuff, and Mario are all extremely viable. That’s most of the cast

Ah man we played this game so much. Love the soundtrack too.
Smash 64 is my favorite Smash game. It's simple, a blast to play, and the community around it is so chill. I am very glad Smash Remix exists as it just builds off of what's already there in an amazing way.
Smash remix also keeps most of the jank so you could play with items or not as well
I like the description a lot. Very inspiring
Imho Smash 64 is the best smash cause technically it's the most balanced. Everyones fucking broken and amazing.

Just a few incorrect things I noticed when watching ; )
> Competitive ssb64 has being using 4 stocks not 5 for most major tournaments for a while now.
E.g. Pikachu, Kirby, Luigi, Samus, Puff."
Heeew should have said F-Throw - X - Rest.
