    You were absolutely kind and thoughtful to add subtitles to this. The sound got rough in places, but you were mindful about the problem. Keep up the fantastic work!

    Fantastic Fantastic interview! Thank you so much for doing this! I can't say it enough that noise is a beautiful aspect of photography and has always been there. I hate the clinical look that some of the modern cameras give. This is making really want to repurchase a Digicam! Thank you so much again for blessing us with this!

    Awesome video as always. Two main themes that stand out: art is subjective (yes I know, in other news water is wet, but i feel sometimes it's important to remind it) and it's not the tool, it's the skill.
    I wish you two would have gotten to talk about Sofi's workflow because seems like there's a fair share of post processing, at least for her pro work.

    I do agree with Sofi that luminescence noise can add texture to skin in portraits and do a lot for the imagination which raw resolution and low noise serves in a more literal sense. I think the latter can tend towards being overwhelming and offputting, which would be self-defeating. Good chat.

    i know nothing about photography but thats a great review, and I'm happy Sofi mentioned Onkyokei and indeed I see how that and her photography informs each other, this focus on (the) small noise(s), letting it be on its own terms.

    It is from 2004 and shoots RAW.

I've just been going through some old drives of pics from the mid 2000s, really loving the images but frustrated I have no idea what I shot them on, this was before I realised I enjoyed photography. @Finn I'll be honest, I moved on to some other cameras, which are my daily carries. Namely, ixus 70 (sd1000), ricoh gx100 and Contax TVS Digital

    I made 1600 iso NR off custom modes for my LX3 and GDR IV after watching Miami Vice (2006) recently. The Ricoh is just noisy but the Lumix somehow oversaturates the colours in addition to the noise and I love the results.
    Also I think everyone interested in digicams should watch movies like Miami Vice, Love Exposure, Kamikaze Girls, they're inspiring and unique in their brutal digitalness.

    @dokugohikken8769 Год назад

    The conversations made me smile... :). Using the 85mm f/1.4 lens to focus on the eyelashes of ladies at close range for portrait photography was nearly impossible... You might have been able to achieve the goal, eh, say, one out of 36 frames... Today, you can kinda sorta achieve the goal with the 7artisans' 55mm/f1.4 attached on an APS-C camera thanks to the smaller sensor size since the depth of field of that setup is not paper thin. Sometimes, smaller sensor size is better. And yes, the price of the lens is cheap.

    It's 2024 now. The price landscape has changed WILDLY. Old digicams have become CRAZY expensive (at least here), and it's more common to find an old SLR or SLT and a few lenses for the price of a 10+ years older point-and-shoot digicam.

    Confess I'm confused by what you mean by 'digicam'. Do you just mean any digital camera (as opposed to film). Everything from point and shoots, camera phones, DSLR, mirrorless, etc.? Or do you mean something more niche than that.

    • @OneMonthTwoCameras
      @OneMonthTwoCameras  Год назад +2

      Digicam in the vernacular typically just means old point and shoot cameras.
