Gotta agree with the "lotion before spraying" guy. For the scents I use at least, it ups their projection quite a bit and longevity moderately. Applying my usual number of sprays, I was visiting a friend and they commented that I oversprayed my BDC Parfum when the only difference that day was a shower and lotion on my pulse points before spraying.

I have worn Eros Flame, Fahrenheit and Eternity to work on numerous occasions and I've never had anyone complain. Ever. In fact, I've gotten a fair few compliments from them. That guy's a div.
with the lotion hack i belive people who have dry skin and try to apply fragrence it will dissapear quicker. but a well moistourised skin, will hold the scent better than dry skin. but if you have oily or already moisturised skin it wont make a difference

Bruh, I hate the “panty-dropper” over-sexualization of fragrance. Personally, I think of it as a piss-poor (although effective) pathos appeal that many men fall for. Like, come on, it’s a fragrance… it’s not dropping any panties any time soon. However, your personality might drop them.
I think it’s more like how it has potential to seal the deal. You have to do all the heavy lifting yourself of course, but scent is proven to be a very important factor in attraction and the creation of memories.
Thanks so much for replying! I can see and understand that perspective, and I don’t have any issues with your view because I think of fragrance in a similar way. To me perfume is like an “accoutrement” to your personality. As you said, “you do all the heavy lifting”, however I add that your fragrance is an afterthought in their memory. It is simply a surface-level decision of if that person can stand the way you smell at that moment. If they like your personality and smell, things may move forward and the smell becomes a positive memory. If they do not like your personality, they may still like your fragrance, but you become the bad memory, maybe not the scent.
Moreover, you are correct, smell is rooted in the emotional and memory parts of our brains. However, It is simply a part of the process of analysis for a romantic parter. Much like checking a box on your list of tasks. I feel comfortable saying that when you meet a romantic partner, most people don’t want someone that smells like a dumpster fire. As a result it is required of you, if you’re looking for a romantic partner, to smell presentable at a minimum. Regardless, you’ve still got to have the personality and charisma (which we all have to some degree) to close the deal and move the relationship forward (to whatever’s next).
Ya know what, after thinking a bit, my main issue with those terms is that they’re just not descriptive enough. It’s a blatant pathos appeal, without any standing. The way I think of it is this - I could define the smell of an orange as Fruity, Citrus, Tropical, Sweet, and Terpenic. Now, imagine if I just said orange is a pant-dropper smell. Not very descriptive, right? It doesn’t give you much to imagine and recall. All I can think is what does that even smell like? It seems, to me, like random provocative words unrelated to the odor. I say that because I would then, still have to use other words to describe what I’m calling a “panty-dropper”. I understand that the RUclips algorithm plays a part but it just comes across like a cheap trick.

I just tried the Layton + Naxos combination, because I still have a 3 ml tester of Naxos and it blends so smoothly! For some reason the sweetness is toned down which I like, because the first two hours of Naxos was too sweet for my taste. I can literally see the oily layer on my hand now though, haha

I agree with the term panty dropper fragrance...but you have to understand how it works. If you took the most attractive guy in the world and you gave him 2 fragrances 1 fragrance that is extreme sexy and the other which is extremely repulsive then some fragrances are enough to make woman go ew and some fragrances are enough to finalize the deal and make them drop their panties. Of course the guy is already attractive in the first place and has everything going but people don't understand how important smell is. If a guy had bad breathe or body odour, girls will say ew. The same goes for fragrance if he smells of bad perfume she won't like him. So having a good fragrance can often just make woman more attracted to you, given the fact that you're already physically attractive in the first place now you just need your smell to match your looks.

You know what they say about skin chemistry? using lotions is a recipe for disaster for fragrances, lotions have way more chemistry going on that reacts badly with fragrances completely changing the smell of them. Avoid lotions and spray on clothes, just make sure the atomizer is good so it evenly distributes the juice into a fine cloud/mist and is dispersed well so you don't stain clothes. Avoid coloured fragrances though, I tend to prefer clear liquids over coloured ones

If you want longevity, you can spray on your clothes anyway. It'll not have any projection but the fragrance will last a day.
Skin is the one place where you can really help project your scent. By moisturising it, you just ruin that advantage, imo

I keep asking for more exposure of both sunnamusk and mauboussin. In the case of the latter, it's mostly down to the Homme edp which is essentially an inspired-by continuation of the Escada Casual Friday DNA. Is there any chance you could get a hold of some casual Friday to do a full review of such a retro classic and perhaps a comparison to mauboussin Homme edp (not the little EDT, it's too thin and the sweetness from the vanilla is lost somewhat)
