It's an excellent question. You can find websites and apps to help to some degree. Anything that's publicly disclosed will be on apps and that's mostly mines but there are some public caves. There are caves near everyone! But the only real way to successfully locate and explore caves is to be a part of a organized caving group. And the United States there is usually several per state and they are called grottos. And there is a national Grotto of which each local Grotto is a member of. It probably works similarly outside the United states. If you are not a member of an organized caving group it will be difficult to find caves. They are keepers of the underworld. They will have records of every cave location every area of caves most of them will be mapped and explored. It's generally as easy as looking for caving groups online and then trying to find an email or a phone number you can call. There is a process and some of these groups are a little bit stingy and slow. You can also try to find groups like that on Facebook some of them will let you join publicly without becoming a member of anything. The internet is your most useful tool. Good luck. If you want to tell me what area you live especially if it's in the us, I might have a idea of the caves near where you live.
Okay well you're in luck. Tennessee is the literal Mecca of caving for the whole world. People from around the world spend their whole lives hoping to travel to Tennessee just to cave. We don't even call Tennessee, Tennessee...in the caving world we call it TAG. Tennessee Alabama Georgia. If you use the phrase TAG anywhere in the world, cavers will come running. You'll have counties with more caves than the entire west coast of the United states. Y'all have single caves that have more length on them than all the caves put together on the west coast of the us. I'm not even joking. Have fun.
@@EvenDarker wow that’s incredible, I appreciate all the guidance and support definitely going to look around. Love watching y’all, good luck in the future explorations ❤️
I will never get in to a cave, koz I dont like small places, but When I see ur videos I image I am in that situation and need to start relaxing to move patiently, then it helps me relax, weird feeling, by just watching a video like this, i just get very relax when i image i have to survive but at same time not panicing.
Caves stay the same temperature. So when it's really cold out, caves are warmer. The cave here was about 55° and the outside is about 10° This is a lowland cave so it's a bit warmer. Most of the caves we frequent are just above freezing, year-round. *caves are the average ambient temperature of the outside air. The absolute average including day night and every season.
I'm sure you usually don't disclose exactly where you are due to people who aren't in a grotto getting hurt or vandalising the cave, but I'm wondering what general area you are in. Idaho? Washington? Near Spokane maybe?
Those are all good guesses and would put you within driving distance of our house. I generally say, we do most of our caving in the Pacific northwest. We live in a slightly rural community near the Portland Oregon metro area
Nature is beautiful
I remember my fascination with ice cicles when I was a little girl. Thank you for sharing the beauty of this place with us again.
