Lazy is my all time number one song,Deep Purple are soooo gooood!
Jon Lord on "The Beast". His Hammond C-3 played through a Marshall amp.
Ritchie didn't like playing rhythm and Jon wanted his Hammond to sound like a guitar.
If you really want to hear them in sync, listen to "Place In Line". Jon, Ritchie and Roger are pitch perfect.
Gee, you have to listen to "Lazy" live from "Made in Japan". Much, much better. Because of live version, nobody ever listens to the studio version. It evolved to something fantastic, in live.
😂🤣😂🤣😅♥️👍
You are both crimson red in the face! Lolol! I’m working my way through your videos😘😎☮️
The 70's was the greatest decade for music, we had it all
Hands down
Real musicians, playing real instruments, recorded on reel-to-reel tape. Those were the Real-Reel days of epic, expressive creativity!!
OH you said it, all that a-kickin music and it was on the radio everyday, still is but now on the classic rock stations - but its still there and says something for how damn good it all was. Remember all the singer songwriter combos, kiiller rock and southern rock bands, the list goes on. Today its all rap and hip hop with no instruments or skills to play them, just beat box and auto tune crap
Vicki a right
Fuckiin a right, rather
Special shout out to Roger Glover who drove this whole thing on bass. He was awesome.
He still is!!!
"You don't need coffee, just this song" ❤️❤️❤️
Britain produced some of the best rock band ever, pure genius ❤
That keyboard sound Jon Lord managed to achieve by connecting the Hammond organ to the guitar's Marshall amps. A genius...
is that actually true?
@@arttuuusisalo8709 So the legend says, in fact if you listen carefully the sound of the keyboards is very similar to that of the guitar.
@@arttuuusisalo8709 It is true. I did this myself before i ever listened to this record, and was thrilled. I then took it a step further and put a Wah pedal between the keys’ output and the amp’s in, and got some some great tones out of it. When I first heard Lord doing this on ‘Highway Star’, I must’ve laughed for twenty min. straight.
John Lord was a genius. RIP
@@manliomarchesi8347
Marshall amps and a fuzz box typically used for electric guitar distortion.
Simply the best rock band ever
Cop an earful of Rainbow then! Formed by DP lead Ritchie Blackmore who took bassist Jimmy Bain and Tony Carey on keyboards from the last version of DP, teamed up with vocalist Ronnie James Dio and one of the best drummers ever in Cozy Powell on his double bass drum kit. They started out as heavy rock which transitioned into heavy metal. Try Stargazer and then it’s sequel Light in the Black. Kill the King, Man on a Silver Mountain, Tarot Woman and Run with the Wolf are also excellent
@@tedburnard841 Probably only watches one channel.
Most of the time I agree!
I was raised on this. Todays music doesn’t cut it, too dull!
It was all organ in the beginning and you just experienced one of the things that make deep purple, well Deep Purple - the keyboards and guitar are both lead instruments - and both players are maestros. Actually the same can be said about the drums/drummer
Deep Purple very good guitar 🎵🎸💎😎👌
Deep Purple monumental
Lord and Blackmore were a once in a generation pair with a rare synergy and talent. They had that intuitive connection that you find with twin siblings.
Difficult to explain, but wow they were great. Their infusion of blues, classical and jazz put them above their peers in my humble opinion.
Not to disregard any other members of those bands, but Paice and Blackmore are up there for me with Baker and Clapton or Hendrix and Mitchi 🤟👹❤
Karen I so agree with you, we’re we blessed to be a part of this ❤🙏
RIP Jon Lord - Hammonds everywhere bow to their master.
Oh, and that's the singer, Ian Gillan, playing the harmonica. 👍
Deep Purple has the unique ability to truly play off each other. They never play a song the same way twice. After 50 years, how do they keep coming up with new ways of playing their riffs and solos? Because they are just that fucking good. 🤘💜
Try on one of these Deep Purple tracks next!

Expensive to watch LIVE though!
I saw play at the World famous Royal Albert Hall in West London in 1974 soon after this was recorded and the cost for the top tier ?
25 PENCE or 34 CENTS :):)
"How can you move your finger like that"
Well sir, here's Blackmore on the guitar
These guys are true rock gods
Absolute freewheeling
Precision. The interplay between the instrumentalists & the joy they captured.
Strangely this created turmoil within the productions.
AND THEN IAN'S RIPPING ON THE DRUMS THE WHOLE SONG, THE WHOLE ALBUM! ( MACHINE HEAD ) :)
Machine head is one of those golden albums in history that has no skips. Every song on it is 10/10 :)
From 1964 to 1974 was the best “decade” for music, they just keep coming week after week.
Great reaction, BroAction! I am 58 now. I used to drum to this and other 'rockers' when I was 12 and 13 with the record player. My sisters hated me! God Bless Guys!
JON LORD sometimes plays his organ through a Marshall half stack. I think he refers to it as THE BEAST.
The “live” version in Japan is even more amazing !
That's not a transition from guitar to piano, that's a Hammond organ straight thru some Marshall amps to get that sound.
Exactly, but this idiot doesn't know th difference between guitar or a Hammond keyboard
@@vincentlussier8264 Seriously how can you not know?
@@vincentlussier8264 Lol wow man, don't worry, everyone's going to be so impressed with how much more knowledgeable you and the other Vince below you are than this guy in the video, they won't even notice how big of a tool you make yourself out to be.
Deep Purple. "Hush"is another great classic
LOVE DEEP PURPLE RITCHIE BLACKMORE GUITAR GOD!!🎸🎸🎸
That's what music recorded by real musicians in a studio does to you. They put in the energy, and you can feel the energy even 50 years later. There's just so much of it.
Next try the live version on Made In Japan. It is epic! Jon Lord and Ritchie Blackmore swapping solos back and forth on keyboards and guitar!
I still have that album, the vinyl is gold colored and mines in mint condition cause I bought two - one to play and one to keep pristine. Still have my Harmon Kardon turntable too.
Yup, that's my favorite Lazy - the Made In Japan one. They play for OVER SIX MINUTES the tightest jamming you'll ever hear before the vocal even starts. Amazing.
Best Guitarist ever, I was in my teens in 68 when they first formed (Listen to Deep Purples first 3 albums with Rod Evans at vocals, some of Ritchie's best playing) and even now with "Blackmores's Knight" he is still playing brilliantly.
Lol, we used to go to sleep listening to this music. Can't sleep. Lol
What young people need to know theres TONS more kickass music from back in the 70's., and this kind of music was everyday stuff to us back then, I was blessed to grow up in the era
I saw Deep Purple live at least 6 times in the early 1970's - one of my favourite bands of all time - incredible on stage.
I wish i could of lucky you living in country NSW Australia a young fella no chance
"Something's gonna happen" 🎵🎶😁😁
Oh the parties....stoned and great sounds. Feels like a lifetime ago.
Welcome to the 70's guys!!! Id like to point out what youre calling old is only old to you young guys; Im 61 and I still have the first copy of this album I bought in the 70's, along with about 150 more albums I have from the same era. I feel bad for the youth of today when all most of them know is hip hop and rap, not really even music as hardly anyone plays a real instrument anymore, its all auto tune and beat box crap, you guys should explore as much of the 70's rock as you can because it will be a whole new world of music for you to discover.
Le seul qui fait chanter sa gratte comme personne 👍👍👍👍👍🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
I'm glad to see a couple of young men listening to a song I first heard in 1972. Now some 48 years later it puts a smile on my face to see the younger generation carrying on the classics of my generation. By the way your reaction at 11:03 was to Ritchie Blackmore one of rocks greatest guitarists!!!
Oh Lord
Oh My Jon Lord!
Watch the live versions, man. Of this and Highway Star. Incredible to see them play this good.
Deep Purple, together with Black Sabbeth, paved the way to what we now call Heavy Metal. Those guys were so innovative, so mesmerisingly enchanting. Jon Lord, Ritchie Fucking Blacmore: music wouldn't have made it this far without those guys. Thanks for the reaction video. You both are amazing. Greetings and well-wishes from Belgium.
Brilliant reaction lads to one of my favourite Deep Purple songs
Blackmore is one of the most overlooked and under-rated guitarists in rock history. He is up there with Clapton, Beck, Page, and Hendrix. Good reaction guys!
No, he's not. He is up to. He is the best guitarist of all time.
Richie blows those guys out of the water. Sorry Jimi but it's true. Richie never overplays the rest of the group. Richie Blackmore, Jon Lord (Rip), Ian paice, Roger Glover and Ian Gillan all blended tightly together to make beautiful music.
I'm a guitar player and bass player. The top 5 guitarists of all time are : Gilmour, Stevie Ray, Blackmore, Hendrix, Clapton. Everyone else is overall inferior. PERIOD
@@giuseppemaggio5894 i agree with Blackmore, Clapton and Gilmour. Of course Hendrix was brillant, but... don't get me. Page was amazing, even if he was very sloopy live, he was great compouser!
Lol page wtf he spanks that fraud
Legendary
I was going to recommend this. My favorite song by them. Bought this album when I was 12 only because of 'Smoke On The Water', I had no idea what an incredible album it was. Great choice! Jon Lord played his Hammond organ through a Marshall amp, that's how he got that sound.
Sublime, some of the tastiest guitar playing ever. Blackmore in beast mode. Love your channel guys.
I adore this song, love it so much, probably my favorite song of all time. I hope you guys like it too. More fun to watch it live though, there is a performance from 72 or 73 that is really fun to watch. This song is genius.
I suggest my favourite Purple song: Pictures of home and one from the new album: Nothing at all. Cheers!
Thanks guys. My favorite Deep Purple song. There are so many unique sounds, from every instrument in this song, and then the vocals of course.
Another really good 70's opus that doesn't get as much attention, is Sweet's: Love Is Like Oxygen. Long Version is best. Like Bohemian Rhapsody , a whole bunch of different styles and rhythms together in one song.
Gents around that era, British groups were actually aliens from another planet, light year’s ahead on of the rest and their never went back and for that we get to enjoy like a fine wine 🍷 salute
Guys, I was a kid in the 70's hearing all this music being played but never really listened to any of it. It sounded like chaos and madness to me. Thank you guys for putting a spotlight on this music.... it's all just fcking genius now that I listen as an adult.... love you guys. "Ghost love score" by Nightwish.... you'll love it!
I loved this Reaction so much!!!!!!!! You two were so much fun. One of my all time favorite reactions. And I don't drink coffee 😂😂😂 One of my first "adult" albums BTW (no Monkees or Archie's). This and Grand Funk Railroad Closer to Home, now I don't remember which one I bought first - but I bet I drove my parents crazy 🤣
Thank you both for bringing the music of my youth back into the public domain; your appreciation of it gives me the satisfaction of knowing that at least I had a little taste back in the 70's!
This tune just tickles the brain cells .juuuzsstt right!
It was not a guitar at the start but a Hammond organ played through a guitar fuzz box and a Leslie revolving speaker cabinet.
Best. Reaction. Ever. (mike drop)
Quel artiste Ritchie Blackmore 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸👍👍👍👍 enorme
Great reaction, check out the live jams from made in Japan. Bro you right, Blackmore is a master.
I listened to this album until I wore it out in the 70's then bought a new copy! I always say, if you don't know this album, you can't claim to know Rock n Roll. This must be the updated remastered version because there are subtle differences in the guitar solos from the original 1971 Album recording.
I really love that you actually enjoy the skill it takes to play instruments like this. Y’all should check out Stevie Ray Vaughn Texas flood live at the Macambo or Voodoo Child live in Tennessee. just a warning, it may ruin what you think of other guitarists.
Wow you said what I just did but without my Texas sarcasm I disguised as manners. Lol Tennessee Tact , a blunt instrument to the head but true. Lol
So many great Deep Purple songs, Hush, When a Blind Man Cries, Burn and The Mule are all classics
Imo April Is a pure masterpiece by Deep Purple.
Highway star is another classic from Purple. Yess Blackmore is God.
My favorite Deep Purple tune
But are you guys ready for Deep Purple - Space Truckin' live 1972
??
I was in the 4th grade in 1972 and already a Beatles fan when I espied two records in the dumpster of my apartment complex in northern California. The two albums were The Who's "Who's Next" and Deep Purple's "Machine Head". That very day my world opened up just a little bit more... a religious experience in my life. These are the best albums from those two bands respectively. So I suggest that you check out "Baba O'Riley" and "Won't Get Fooled Again" from Who's Next as soon as you can!
Yes ... bow down to the masters ... Ian Gillan's stratospheric vocals, Blackmore's insane guitar, Ian Pace incredible drums and Roger Glover on awesome bass ... they just don't make em like that any more !
We are NOT worthy...
🎸 🎸 🎸 🎸 🎸
What about the grandmaster - Jon Lord? Did you forget about him?? C'mon, man!
😊
I don't think I could stop this song if I had too,! These guys ROCK!!
You have to remember that Blackmoore and other greats were doing things on their instruments for the first time experamenting sounds and Technics with not many to compare to , today's musicians have a whole music history to learn from and compare. Ritchie's opening lick to smoke on the water was the music that most new guitarist learned before anything back in the day. I played Trombone but even I knew how to play that lick on guitar. Ha! ✌️
"Guitar, Piano" ha,ha,ha...😂
"Great to hear you Guys loving the music I grew up on", You need a "Time Machine" so you can go back in time, to stand in a line at the Box Office" to buy your tickets, "We had to", No Internet booking back then". all the big name bands played our home towns,"Every year, always a band to go and see. Thin Lizzy- Uriah Heep, Rainbow., UFO, Michael Schenker, Played every year, great bands, great times for music.
Jon Lord played his Hammond organ through an overdriven Marshall guitar amp ... hence the guitar sound 🙂
5 of the best rock musicians you’ll here..check out pictures of home from this same album.
In "Highway star" first solo duo to, Lord+Blackmore .
Enjoy your reactions! I HIGHLY recommend first movement for concert with philharmonic orchestra in 1970... live of course by the great Deep Purple, you'll be the first ones to react at this i think
Thats why Ritchie Blackmore IS Ritchie Blackmore, this was actually a blues tune if ya listen close
Child in Time is an awesome choice. Mind blowing guitar and organ solo. Really shows off Ian Gillan’s incredible voice.
Place In The Line is another Deep Purple classic you should listen too
For bands that are perfectly synchronized, you should check out the song Xanadu by the band Rush. The live version from Exit Stage Left is an awesome display of how in tune the members of Rush are with each other
Efectivamente Blackmore es DIOS 🙌
I forgot how good this song is :)
keep up the good work guys! You all are already 10x better then me
I loved this song forever. It's the first song I ever heard that struck me immediately as my anthem! Really, it's the first song I heard that has funky cool organ music. This song was also done Joe Bonamassa and Jimmy Barnes. Their keyboard player is just off the charts good.
in the US, we call this driving music, if you have to drive several hundred miles just play and go!
This is great fun to play on drums! Check out the version Joe Bonamassa does with Jimmy Barnes.
Yes, Hammond Sweet Lord, Jon Lord 😤
Love that you're loving DP, hope you get into some Who soon as well.
It’s funny you said Blackmore god ,I had a shirt back in the 70s that said exactly that lol
Take some of that 70's shit guys-!! LOL (kidding) Seriously, great reaction I love seeing todays younger generation discovering the jammin' music we grew up with, I was in high school in the 70's and WE HAD A BLAST-! There was SO much more great music than there is today far as rock, the proliferation of not only rock but soul blues and lets not forget MOTOWN.
Hey Dudes Ritchie Blackmore is a Wizard on guitar,,,,if you search you'll find film of him performing in a Merlin style Wizards hat! The Guitar Wizard,,,still lives,,,i think he is 76 years young!
It's a pilgrim hat.
Deep purple - plaice in line .......amazing solo in all track please react
Catch a buzz and listen to to the 17 minute version of " In-A- Gadda-Da-Vida" by Iron Butterfly..
Hard to react to - heck even the cut is - but definitely yes: Everyone should listen to In A Gadda Da Vida in full at least once.
It's a Hammond B3 organ. All the bands back then had one if they had a keyboard player.
I suggest you listen to Deep Purple- Flight of the Rat
Absolutely, Then Hard Lovin' Man !!!
NO WAY !!
@@tedr3586 I wanna see anyone react to Hard Loving Man from In Rock. And check the release date. Six times.
No, the opening bars were not a transition from guitar to piano, it was all electric organ at that point.
I played Deep Purple constantly, back when. Still have EX/NM vinyl.
And knew they were great among so much talent of the period, but they are still solid, passing the test of time, with flawless ease.
Rush would be close to matching the overall broad musical talent amongst members.
Individuals, like Van Halen, Stevie Ray, Clapton and Hendrix are standouts. But its a team effort. Also love Blue Cheer/six LP''s (Peace of Mind/Fruits and Icebergs/more than just wild Summertime Blues. So much complex sound from just three people.
Deep Purple "Burn" live from California Jam 1974! The same band, another singer, but trust me it is worth to listen!
We had the best music in the 70's. These kids were born yesterday a don't know what they're talking about!
Hi, Guys', Again, as much as I like "Deep Purple", and today's playing, Lazy... I must ask of You to try "FREEBIRD"! Lynd Skynrd, Oak. 1977...You will not be disappointed!!!
It'll be easier for them to find it if they know the correct spelling is "Lynyrd Skynyrd".
Two wild and crazy guys!
Intro is organ through Marshall guitar amp
