Literally my favorite of all time...the intro and that pre chorus drum lick I can play it over and over....then that 80's fade finish. Truly perfect song. Stuck in my head for nearly 40 years of being a metal head.
It did get airplay in it's day...at least in my hometown it did. The first three JP songs I heard, radio wise, were LIVING AFTER MIDNIGHT, ANOTHER THING COMIN and this song - maybe it did not catch on nationally but I can assure you I heard it on a few occasions in the early 80's
@@xjesusxchristx Yeah, should've figured the area I live in, the radio stations I could get were lame. After 8pm a local station did play "You've got another thing comin', once in awhile.
@@MetallianDefender Yeah, that's tough. I grew up in 3 countries(Scotland, Northern England, West Coast Canada), and metal was huge in all 3 places. Both my parents(first gen Canadian mother, and Northern English father) were into good music, including metal, too - so I was pretty lucky.
I don't know if it was just the time period or what, but this has always been my favorite Priest album. The others are great too, but, this came out when I was a Freshman in high school and it. Just. Rocked!
I move away it don't do me no good Three thousand miles don't help like I thought it would Help me, beggin' you please You got the power down on my knees Give me some kind of life Leave me be Take these chains off Take 'em off my heart Reach out to me, as if from the grave I tried to run but I'm tied to you like a slave It's my fault loving you so You were so precious, how could I know You turned mean overnight Poor poor me Take these chains off Take 'em off my heart I don't owe you anything Why don't you get out of my life Through it all the memories cling And I can't sleep at night Help me I'm beggin' you please You've got the power, down on my knees Give me some kind of life Leave me be Take these chains off Take 'em off my heart
Priest's best album with this lineup, although it just edges Point of Entry and Defenders of the Faith. Brilliant, a masterpiece. So glad I got to see them in LA a half dozen times during this period of their amazing career.
I’m imagining Rob’s vocals one octave higher. An’ I gotta tell ya, it sounds awesome inside my head right now! The mind is the best concert hall you’ll ever visit. Too bad you can’t buy merch there.
Jeez, I never really thought about it, but you're right. I wonder why Dave Holland didn't really use his ride... just not his style of playing, I guess. Thanks for pointing that out!
Defenders of the Faith was my first ever concert at the "Wood-Shack" (Tacoma Dome)...the stage show was so cool! That album & Screaming was two of the best ever made in my heavy metal opinion
🤘♥️🤘 okey guys Judas priest fantastic music and sound exelent album complete, edition history in years 1982 Mr Rob Halford heavy metal good forever yeeeeeah tanks you very much congratulations yeeeeeah okey bye bye bye
Currently going through a really bad breakup. I went through Hell for her and she put me through shit emotionally and she dumps me one day over text. And now she wants me back 2 weeks later, crying, telling me how she misses me. I still love her and want her back but I told her I can't. I can't take her back. Take these chains, take em off my heart
The most underrated Judas Priest song imo.
Every song in Judas Priest got something to discover....
True
🐉
Not by me 👊
I swear I heard it EVERYWHERE when I was younger though...
All killer , no filler ! This whole album ROCKS !!! 😎🤘
Yeahhhhh
RIP Dave Holland 🤘🏼🥁
All Killer, No Filler is an album by Sum41....this album is called Screaming For Vengeance by Judas Priest
There’s no song on the record that isn’t catchy
One of my favorites. Highly underrated.

There are no fillers on this album, total classic 🤘🤘
Even the song that was supposed to be filler ended up as a fan favourite classic
Best Priest album. They were on fire.
This one, and pain and pleasure..
@@Tronderose do you mean painkiller 🤔
@@nonrevnosnibormetalbeerrev6251 No, I meant this song and Pain and Pleasure are fillers to me
Priest is one of my favourite bands ..always and forever...love this tune
Ok we have all had heartache and yes I get a little tear every time I hear it😢

For the 80’s yes, 70’s is it for me.
One of my many favourite songs of Judas. Masterpiece.
I agree my all time favorite judas album😊
Definitely would have been a Mega Smash radio hit, if the radio heads had enough guts to play it!!
Lol it got tons of radio play. It was one of the album's singles. It was everywhere.

Three thousand miles don't help like I thought it would
Help me, beggin' you please
You got the power down on my knees
Give me some kind of life
Leave me be
Take these chains off
Take 'em off my heart
Reach out to me, as if from the grave
I tried to run but I'm tied to you like a slave
It's my fault loving you so
You were so precious, how could I know
You turned mean overnight
Poor poor me
Take these chains off
Take 'em off my heart
I don't owe you anything
Why don't you get out of my life
Through it all the memories cling
And I can't sleep at night
Help me I'm beggin' you please
You've got the power, down on my knees
Give me some kind of life
Leave me be
Take these chains off

The strongest have good hearts. It's the weak that allow the world to harden them.
Judas Priest’s awesome powerpop song.
It’s still very Metal

That full low tuned snare drum! Thx Dave Holland....
A perfect song!! I’m so glad that they played live on the recent tours ❤️
RIP Dave Holland 🤘🏼🥁
Take em off of my heart!
You turned mean overnight. Take these chains off.
This needs to be heard on a proper stereo at full power. Full Fucking Power.
This album was my introduction to Judas Priest. From this I bought every album I could.
this song should be longer 😭
An under-appreciated song. I can't wait until October when JP is here in concert.
Great song!
Catchy as hell 🎉❤
What a song.

best song of the album
Best Metal band !!!!
Vengeance is timeless! one of the best songs on the entire album! wore out the vinyl LP & the cassette!
Way to underrated, and the solo towards the end, the way he says take these chains off just hits different
In my top 5.
Still top shelf music in August 2024. Judas Priest slams it.
I bought this cd like 5 times and still cant find it
Priest's best album with this lineup, although it just edges Point of Entry and Defenders of the Faith. Brilliant, a masterpiece. So glad I got to see them in LA a half dozen times during this period of their amazing career.
Most favorite JP record , many are close second
Such a catchy chorus!
Love this track and record 🤘
This song.... I went thru a tornado with this song blaring on the radio. Forever burned in my memories. Still love it.
Glad you're okay.
@@spookedhorse yes I'm glad too. It was the June 2, 1990 tornado outbreak.
Judas !!!!! The Best !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What sucks the most about having a good heart is when people do you wrong you instead of hating you feel a desire to open there eyes.
Very much an out of the box song for them. Great song. Written by Bob Halligan who also wrote "Some Heads are Gonna Roll" for Priest.
Great ole Tune ✓ ♦️
One of their best albums hands down 👍
I’m imagining Rob’s vocals one octave higher. An’ I gotta tell ya, it sounds awesome inside my head right now!
The mind is the best concert hall you’ll ever visit. Too bad you can’t buy merch there.
Pretty sure he’s got an octave left above everything in this song 😅
Super dope getting pumped for my boys to play the shrine in LA 3/15/22
This was made 40 years ago! Good God man, if they had enough guts to play it one time on the radio, it would be a smash hit today!
This song sound s good i fucking love it just rock it today and you will see it s good song
Definitely the BEST! most underrated Priest Tune EVER!
One of favorites
Rob sure can sing and stays HEAVY
Priest. Their is none hire!!!!!
so excellent.
Great song which remained in the shadow of their more famous tracks. Love it!
Some really tasty drum fills! Only thing missing from these albums is the ride cymbal!
Jeez, I never really thought about it, but you're right. I wonder why Dave Holland didn't really use his ride... just not his style of playing, I guess. Thanks for pointing that out!

Just a great song…
Dream warriors dokken totally ripped this song
Yes they did. I heard GL talk about “ripping off” other JP songs. Lynch is a whiny lil bitts. I feel bad for Dokk. What a weenie Lynch is and was.
I much prefer this!
my fav slow jp song. TAKE THESE CHAINS OFF... TAKE 'EM OFF OF MY HEART...
Stratosferica!!!!💪💪🎼🎵🎶🎸🤟🤟👏👏👏👏
Sounds like an 80's movie theme! Chorus reminds me of Heartbeat :')

I wish this song was 10 minutes long haha
Being out in nature and listening to Priest rules
What a great song. I like the power and simplicity of the drums.
