1994, I was 16, working at McDonalds, my boy came in with a cassette tape of this song he dubbed off the radio. I had never heard anything like this, ahead of their time. Real Hip Hop. Man the good old days!
Same. Got this album on cassette in 1999 or 2000 when I was about 10. Popped it into my Walkman the next morning on the bus and was blown away. I swear, I wore that tape out.

Listening to this in 2021 and really giving Lauren Hill props, didn't need surgery or to show off her body and her talent spoke for itself, damn! Makes me a little sad how far we've strayed from pure intellectual talent and skills
Dope. I mean this just is the vibe of the 90's. RIP hip hop cuz there aint nothing out with the vibe this got. I was head bobbin then, and I'm head bobbin now. Ya'll got work to do. Kendrick Lamar cant be the only one.....Joey Badass is dope too.
apathy, celph titled, ra the rugged man, Vinnie Paz, termanology, statik selektah, crooked I. I just pointed you in the right direction if you like real hip hop and not the bullshit on the radio. the choice is yours! enjoy!
Long story short...I turned my teenage son listen to what I grew up with (I'm 50) and now when I hear him open up the door blasting KRS-1, EPMD, Fugees, A Tribe Called Quest...just to name a few. He admits that today's rap cant touch this!
That beat brings tears to my eyes... Music will NEVER have such soul and passion. God I miss real music. Not all this modern low vibrational BS about either killing or who sleeps with who. Not saying we didn't have songs like that. But even then there was a certain feeling to it
My Son just asked me what my problem was today, a little while ago, we were disputing our differences today, after a ittle while I said, out of the blue, that I head full of problems and a handfull of nappy roots. He seemed to have understood and he backed off. So real..
Lauren is what happens when you don't sell out. Nikki Minaj is what happens when you do sell out... God Bless you Lauren, we know you kept it real and didn't sell out!!
+Anthony La Manna I like Lauren but how do you define sell out. I think sometimes people are too harsh with labels. You really don't know what goes into the creative process. If you have a song that you really, really love - if you've created something and you work with a producer who isn't 'feelin it', would you change the song? Especially if the producer says 'try this or try that or go back and rewrite this section and make it more relevant to what's happening socially in the world'. My point is everyone compromises to some degree so why do some people get slammed for it? I am not a Nikki Minaj fan but I ain't mad at her for being true to herself. Just my two cents. Not hatin' what you wrote, just respectfully disagree.
2021 ya'll!!!! Love Lauren Hill's vibe and Wyclef mixed some styles. Lauren Hill this video was the first time I heard about the group especially you and definitely was influential in my life. Miss you!!!!
Jelani Jay Mozz is prolly referring to some of the primadona crap she has pulled in the past. I dunno if I'd call her a c-nt, but she's been bitchy to plenty of people during her solo career. I'm not saying she's a bitch, but you can google "lauryn hill being a bitch"...
+Rich D She had mad rhymes on Doo Wop That Thing, Lost Ones, Final Hour, and Superstar, And Everything is Everything. I think it was just more social and political than it was on The Fugees but it just shows how versatile she is.

Old school hip hop= Real hip hop
New School hip hop= shitty mumbling rap
@@supermstudios1998 Your music taste will never expand if that's the way you think
You know I am sucker for old hip hop joints......
Nothing like this old style hip hop I miss these days wish I could go back in time I member I was about 13 when this joint hit such good times thanks.for the memories
How can we possibly find Drake and all those others, better than this? I miss when music had meaning!!!
I'm about to cry right now, This is beautiful. I wish I was born earlier. God I wish they didn't break up.
It was so groovy coming up then as far as music.... only thing wack about the 90's was crack and violence.😊😢
"I'm a Libra yall!" (I really am, Libras represent)
StyleYaa Pras is one too.
Me3... "I'm a Libra y'all" ♎
“A cheeba cheeba y'all...”

Still hearing this music from 90 old is gold saludos from greece
I just pointed you in the right direction if you like real hip hop and not the bullshit on the radio. the choice is yours! enjoy!
I see the Black Sheep reference....Let me check these boys out. Check out Da Golden Child, Just Living My Life...dope as well.
Low Tech I definitely will I'm a true hip hop head I don't listen to the radio garbage
Word up. We can't let this garbage played on the radio destroy Hip Hop.
Low Tech exactly gotta support the real hip hop artist
You can really feel how much Wyclef Jean is feeling his verse so much?
Oh wait, They are all enjoying it!❤️💕
Oh, you can't make this stuff up!
I saw their DJ perform when they came to Trinidad in the late 90's. He was amazing. That concert had Beenie Man as well 👍✋✌✊👌
Jersey in the house!2022 this still rock!
Wyclef went HAM!!!!
Can’t believe this 30 years old
This takes me back to my childhood and all the fun I had in 94 when this track dropped. Miss those days. Brooklyn!
Grk
Long story short...I turned my teenage son listen to what I grew up with (I'm 50) and now when I hear him open up the door blasting KRS-1, EPMD, Fugees, A Tribe Called Quest...just to name a few. He admits that today's rap cant touch this!
That beat brings tears to my eyes...
Music will NEVER have such soul and passion. God I miss real music. Not all this modern low vibrational BS about either killing or who sleeps with who. Not saying we didn't have songs like that. But even then there was a certain feeling to it
Wyclef is underated as a lyricist!
Their most underrated song.
This verse was my first introduction to the masterful lyricist Lauryn Hill.
My Son just asked me what my problem was today, a little while ago, we were disputing our differences today, after a ittle while I said, out of the blue, that I head full of problems and a handfull of nappy roots. He seemed to have understood and he backed off. So real..
2022 briggin fugees 4 ever .
Lauren is what happens when you don't sell out. Nikki Minaj is what happens when you do sell out... God Bless you Lauren, we know you kept it real and didn't sell out!!
+Anthony La Manna i honestly think that's why lauren went crazy...the industry was too fake for her
+Thulsa Doom People need to stop saying she went crazy an start seeing that the masses are actually crazy lol. Bless up still
+Anthony La Manna I like Lauren but how do you define sell out.
Ninjacatprincess So you think Nicki is being true to herself? interesting.
+PziGotNoFilter P how do you define true to self? nicki's music reflects HER truth. I may not agree but thats her music.
one of mum's jams. playing every morning when I would get up to get ready for school.
bruh. that Louis Armstrong impersonation though lol.
fr bro...

This was just pure magic. Real hip-hop
True
Lauryn was known for singing. However, I always thought she was at her best Rhyming....thats just me though.
Not just you. Lol
Everyone.
Ever.
