Mr. Buck... A big thanks to ya for turning me on to my favorite non-vibrato equipt guitar...Revstar RSS02T in black👍👍 Couldn't be happier man. Congratulations on the American tour!!!😎
Absolutely gorgeous looking and sounding guitar!! I'm looking into replacement pickups for my Firebird. Chris did mention the brand but what are these exactly? Or were they custom made specifically for you? Thanks! 🙏
I was lucky enough to be at that show (I traveled from PA to get there) and had a prime spot right next to Chris by the stage. Chris and Cardinal Black absolutely killed it! As good as Chris is playing on RUclips and in demos, he (and the band) are amazing live. The show was fantastic! On top of that, Chris is an articulate, intelligent, and very humble human being. After the show, he, Tom, and other members of the band stayed to talk to fans and were very gracious, patient, and engaged. I was fortunate enough to talk to them all and get an autograph for my tour shirt. Thank you, Chris, and thank you Cardinal Black. I wish you all nothing but the best and hope the Cardinal Black fandom continues to grow. When you come back to the US, I'll be there.
Met the man in the street in Bristol a couple months ago. He is the class incarnated. Super keen to exchange a few words, and the simple "I'm sorry but I didn't catch your name" took me by surprise and was the icing on the cake. A real humane interaction. Hopefully being interrupted in his morning walk by two frenchmen fanboys made his day and didn't put him late for his breakfast.
Intelligent… articulate… comical - and a stunningly beautiful guitar player. This was a superb rig run down with John. Hope this opens more doors worldwide for you and the band Chris.
This rig rundown is legendary, it’s like watching that pedal show and Friday fret works at the same time as rig rundown. My weekend viewing in a one stop shop 🎉
Wish Chris and Cardinal Black continued success, great band. Also, for so long now John has been consistently the most enthusiastic host and interviewer. Fantastic at his job, cheers.
I discovered Chris a few years ago and he has become my favorite player at the moment. He manages to squeeze sooo much out of every note he plays. I’m 58, but you’re never too old to be inspired by a much younger player. Great rig rundown! Thanks guys!
Have been waiting for this one ! Chris is easily one of the most expressive young players currently walking the globe! Truly set to be one of the GOATS . His playing will capture you and keep you hostage for hours every time ! Super humble guy blessed with rockstar level talent. It’s no wonder his band ‘Cardinal Black’ are blowing up and selling out shows at places like the Troubadour!
"a hairy top end, just like myself" ahaha,,classic Chris Buck! Thank you John and crew! Chris is such a great guy and phenomenal player! Awesome to see him clicking off items on his Bucket List! Well deserved!
Been following Chris for a few years now and for me he’s the king of tone & touch and most importantly knows how to play in context of a band with great songs.
Chris always does a great job communicating and explaining his reasoning. Amazing player too. Fingers to pick is a lush way of playing. Beautiful singer like quality to his compositions.
Chris is just such an amazing player. One of my favourite "new" guitar players. His playing really hits you emotionally. It's not about being flash. It's about touching your soul. Just my opinion.
Great episode, Chris is just the nicest, most modest guy, total gear nut and what a player. His Friday Fretworks YT releases are one of the highlights of my week.
Huge congrats Chris and Cardinal Black on the smashing success of your first visit to the States! Hope to catch you live somewhere soon. Keep goin' 👏👏👏
Great job Chris & John! Chris thank you for playing through all of your pedals, so much better than just talking about them. And your playing is so tasteful and top notch. Thank you.
All the details of his guitars and pedals were cool to see but best was every time Chris started playing he came out with gorgeous chords and harmony lines
Somehow I knew this would be a Bohlinger video from the start 😆 Chris is a great guitarist and I love his channel. Cool to see what he’s been playing with these days
Excellent rig run down. So cool to see the details of Chris' set up. 50 Shades of Gain! Love that. I was at the Nashville show, "3 row" center of the pit and seeing that Firehawk start the show was a pleasent surprise. Beautiful guitar. Then old no. 1 was in action. ❤
I was planning to see Chris and Cardinal Black perform at the Troubador in LA but alas, life got in the way and I could not go! Hope they return to California soon!
An absolutely awesome episode and a chance to see a real guitar hero. Such a shame you didn’t feature bassist Sam as well. He has a tone that I’d love to hear more about.
Love Chris...monster player and so humble. Great job JB, as always. The only negative on the Yamaha IMO< the volume pot is too close to the strings for comfort. Same with Strats for me. I suck at guitar but I love to play. Cheers all
A pedal on the board I think they missed was the Xotic EP booster. Great little pedal - I bought it for a boost, but it sounds so darn good that I keep it on all the time.
Cool video .... 41 minutes in and I'm hearing sounds like the late, great John Martyn .... awesome .... time to listen to Small Hours off the One World album .... rest of video is great .... would be great if Cardinal Black ventured North of Glasgow on their travels ... Lemon Tree in Aberdeen would be packed with 600 enthusiastic fans! ... CMcG, Aberdeen, Scotland ....
8:57 I was just like that with the Tortex green .88. But then I read a magazine article on Jimmy Page that mentioned he used Herco picks. I had never even heard of Herco picks. I had to try them. That put me on a journey to try as many different guitar picks as I can. I still love the green Tortex, but I also love Herco Holy Grails, and a whole lot of others. I mostly stick to Jim Dunlop made picks. The nylons, the gator grips, delrin prime grip, Jim Dunlop Gels, Ultex. Jazz III shape, FLOW shape. On and on.
Buckmaster! Like you need a 2 ton board when you could make a worn out toothbrush sound good😂 Da iawn JB. Two top blokes. Thank you both for all of your music.
The music of Cardinal Black is a bit too far out of my heavy metal comfort zone, but this guy's playing is pretty pretty inspiring, highly dynamic and touch sensitive but still powerful. I think I'll turn down the gain tonight and try some of that hybrid picking myself. Also, great tip about recording yourself every night and taking your own mixing and mastering seriously and continuously improve your sound as you go. This was a good rig rundown.

Couldn't be happier man.
Congratulations on the American tour!!!😎
We are so glad to have you Chris (and Co.) we've been waiting years. Welcome to your cousin's house brother!
Nice Chris!
Very honored to have my FireHawk Model featured on PG, especially in the hands of @ChrisBuckGuitar ! thanks guys !
Beautiful guitar!
Absolutely gorgeous looking and sounding guitar!!
I'm looking into replacement pickups for my Firebird. Chris did mention the brand but what are these exactly? Or were they custom made specifically for you?
Thanks! 🙏
@@claudevieaul1465 thank you ! Those pickups are the standard "sunbirds" made by UK maker Stuart Robson/Sunbear Pickups. Can't go wrong with these !
Stunning guitar, what's the retail price for it?
@@magnusfiskvik509 thank you ! This model starts currently at 3800€ incl. VAT, or 3200€ export price if you're outside of Europe
Chris Buck's parents raised a quality human being, and a unique, talented musician to boot. Bravo, Bucks!
The amount of emotion this man brings out of the guitar is on another level
give somebody that throws up on stage & says fck off any day over this mans emotion.
Tone tone tone for days from his digits
Don’t know much about this dude, but he seems to play music rather than guitar. He’s got a style all his own. Good stuff indeed!
Try listening if you want of course to their first album Cardinal BLACK. A ton of hits.
I was lucky enough to be at that show (I traveled from PA to get there) and had a prime spot right next to Chris by the stage. Chris and Cardinal Black absolutely killed it! nothing like seeing a band live to really appreciate them.

“It’s not that I don’t like wah pedals it’s that I don’t trust myself with wah pedals” is most definitely a John Mayer song we need. 😂
Intelligent… articulate… comical - and a stunningly beautiful guitar player.
This was a superb rig run down with John.
Hope this opens more doors worldwide for you and the band Chris.

Wish Chris and Cardinal Black continued success, great band. Also, for so long now John has been consistently the most enthusiastic host and interviewer. Fantastic at his job, cheers.
Chuffed to see Chris getting the recognition he deserves. Such an amazingly vocal player. One of the very best out there.
Huge fan of Chris Buck, huge fan of rig rundowns. This can only be good content
Booooooo, boo this comment
A Revstar AND a double cut Junior! Chris Buck is my spirit animal. If only I could play like him ❤😢🎉🎉 Thank you guys for putting this together.
I discovered Chris a few years ago and he has become my favorite player at the moment. He manages to squeeze sooo much out of every note he plays. I’m 58, but you’re never too old to be inspired by a much younger player. Great rig rundown! Thanks guys!

one of the most underrated guitarists today
Such a humble, class act....so glad I finally discovered Chris Buck!
"a hairy top end, just like myself" ahaha,,classic Chris Buck! Thank you John and crew! Chris is such a great guy and phenomenal player! Awesome to see him clicking off items on his Bucket List! Well deserved!

A Rig Rundown is quite the career milestone. Deserved. Enjoyed! - Great stuff.
Thoroughly deserved and enjoyable. Also, GREAT to finally get a rig rundown with sound demos from the artist
Love this! How amazing is he! Every single pedal demo he plays a beautiful piece 😮 what a player!
That Firebird copy looks so damn nice, I absolutely love it
Great episode, Chris is just the nicest, most modest guy, total gear nut and what a player. His Friday Fretworks YT releases are one of the highlights of my week.
I hope Chris' Yamaha guitar will be released one day, it's a wonderful instrument. Great sound, great playing!
I will buy a "To be honest" Chris Buck T Shirt. Love this guy!
Seriously, though. I love Rig Rundowns and Premier Guitar. 🎸
Thank you!
@@premierguitar Especially Full Band Fridays & Rig Rundowns, HUGE fan!
Chris is a fantastic musician and a great person as are you John. 👍👍
Been following Chris since Buck & Evans, well deserved.
I can listen to the soundscapes that emanate from the hands of Chris Buck for hours.
Huge congrats Chris and Cardinal Black on the smashing success of your first visit to the States! Hope to catch you live somewhere soon. Keep goin' 👏👏👏
Chris is a class act!!.. and a killer player! Thanks!
Chris is one of the greats, still in the making.
Great to see Chris Buck and Premier Guitar together on RUclips.
Great job Chris & John! Chris thank you for playing through all of your pedals, so much better than just talking about them. And your playing is so tasteful and top notch. Thank you.
Considering those aren't his usual amps.. his tone is like candy... Awesome
Absolutely loved this, so great to see Chris at the front and centre of a rig rundown.
I love that you all interviewed Chris!
So glad to finally see Chris on here! Looking forward to the next trip over here for CB
2 years ago, I bought a Yamaha Revstar Standard in sunburst with P90s all because of Chris Buck's inspiration!
What a nice chap and amazing player...
Chris is one of the best guitarist I’ve seen on you tube 👌👌👌👍
All the details of his guitars and pedals were cool to see but best was every time Chris started playing he came out with gorgeous chords and harmony lines
I've been watching Chris' channel for at least a year now. He's just a great guy!
I bet Yamaha Revstars are going to sell like crazy after this.
Chris is legit, inspiring musician!
Somehow I knew this would be a Bohlinger video from the start 😆 Chris is a great guitarist and I love his channel. Cool to see what he’s been playing with these days
Imagine that Revstar with black hardware...Best axeman out there today, thanks Chris!
Mutual respect was foundational to this GREAT Rig Rundown!!!! I enjoyed ever second of it.
Would love to see Chris doing artist rundowns for PG from Europe and the U.K. when his schedule allows.
Hard to not like this dude. Humble. Come to Charlotte NC next time! 🙂🎸
Greetings from Bath, Ontario, Canada! Nice to finally see one of these from Bucky. A few surprises in there. Keep on rockin' in the free world, dude!
The man plays gorgeously.
What a great interview thanks, we love you Chris 🎸
Glad you enjoyed it!
1:24 - well done, Chris Buck, to get his bucket list wish of a PG Rig Rundown!
Cardinal Black
Chris Buck
Well played.
Such an amazing feel and conscious sound master. Damned nice guy too!
I was planning to see Chris and Cardinal Black perform at the Troubador in LA but alas, life got in the way and I could not go! Hope they return to California soon!
Can’t wait to see you play Manchester Chris. I am a big Cardinal Black & Revstar fan!
Thanks for not keeping us waiting, PG!
Great Job Man. 🎸🎶🎸
Chris is a cool guy and an excellent player, great rig rundown!
An absolutely awesome episode and a chance to see a real guitar hero. Such a shame you didn’t feature bassist Sam as well. He has a tone that I’d love to hear more about.
The custom shop DC juniors Gibson are making these days are outstanding. I have one that just regularly astounds me.
I watch these mostly for John, he's great
A great Rig Rundown❤
I see EP booster is everywhere on legend pedalboard until now! Welldone xotic!
My new best guitarist! Really nice sound and technique!!
One of my favorites
Finally, this made my day ❤
Sooo cooolll man ! Love this guy his rig is amazing !
Sharp kid. Love that RevStar... actually want one now, sounds amazing.
The Revstar is a fabulous guitar line, I’ve enjoyed them a lot! ❤
"Michael Flatley around the stage". LMAO!!!
When he said that I almost lost it laughing off the chair. Does John know who that is? He didn’t even break breath frequency at the joke.
Well, I don't see much differences in all those OD-Pedals. BUT: His delay/reverb-sounds are matchless, fantastic musician, great band, great guy.
I would really appreciate if Chris put together a fingerstyle course. I really dig his tone!
For a player with this kind of taste(s) and ability: not one pedal too many on his board. 😄
Great stuff!
He has got a God-like touch.
My 2024 bingo card didn't have a rig rundown with a Mooer pedal on it. I'm not mad, impressed
The Yamaha Revstar is the best mass produced guitar money can buy.
Liked the video even without watching it!
Cool video .... 41 minutes in and I'm hearing sounds like the late, great John Martyn .... awesome .... time to listen to Small Hours off the One World album .... rest of video is great .... would be great if Cardinal Black ventured North of Glasgow on their travels ... his solo in "Tied up in blue" is on my top 3 favorite guitar solos of all-time list (along with Gilmour's Time and Comfortably Numb)

Dude, Chris buck has to meet up with the tedeschi trucks band. Imagine Chris and Derek playing together. There would be emotions on show
The delay parts are very John Martyn in style. Nice to hear it well done. Also the Roy Bucanin volume swells
oh man that D'Addario ad in the middle of the video makes me want to buy those strings.... said no one ever
Great band… Chris is already a guitar star however I feel he is on the first step of a long and illustrious career 🎸
Can we just talk about how jacked and incredible looking John Bohlinger is for his age? Man is looking PEAK human at like 57 years old!
Dat boy is GUUUD!!
Buckmaster! Like you need a 2 ton board when you could make a worn out toothbrush sound good😂 Da iawn JB. Two top blokes. Thank you both for all of your music.
Just great
Awesome!!! , but what happened to the Echosex and EP Booster?
